Mohinder said the gene is passed down from the parents and so did Hiros dad. The question is did both Petrellis have it or just one. I also think they will bring back the dad eventually with powers as well. The brought the mom back on alias after insure she was absolutely dead and it worked out for that show.

to me in the begining episodes it seemed like the were trying to say that peters dad was like him... not really power wise but the way he acted and stuff, so when i was watching it i wondered if it was power wise also

Is Simone supposed to have a power as well? I thought the dad would be back(Father Petrelli) in a flashback or maybe he is still alive. What is Hiro's fathers power? Maybe the mother had a power.

If they wind up giving too many people powers, it could cheapen the experience of watching such a great show. Knowledge and influence is a great thing to have even without powers.

True, but Mohinder, HRG, Mrs. HRG, don't have powers. It was lame to give Linderman a power.

I say the more powers the merrier! They will have to have people come and go with them to make things interesting. Lets face it, we watch it for the powers and the battles with the powers. Sure the storylines are great and we all have picked a favorite, but in the end we want the powers. Almost every post on the forums have some kind of power discussion. I do agree that not everyone can have them; obviously HRG and his blood family doesnt. But they have gone to great lengths to say that it runs in the family. We know Peter, Nathan and Claire have one, so One of the parents had to. Question is, which one? We also know that Mohinder has been questioned on the show to whether he has a power and his sister did have one before she died, so it's in that family has well. Hiro has a power which means his dad or mom has to have one.

Depends what type of power for Linderman- if it's very subtle it might just fit his character.

I think Mrs Petrelli is just very good at controlling things- and her sons who she pretty obviously knows have powers. I don't think she has powers but she obviously knows of people with powers. My main concern is with Mr Petrelli- first he had a heart attack- then we are told he committed suicide. Is he really dead? Cardinal rule with shows like these and especially comics (which Heroes take a lot of ideas from): if there isn't a body shown then there's a high chance they're still alive. And Mrs Petrelli was at Peter's graduation when Nathan and Peter were talking about taking down Linderman and their father at the same time- maybe she overheard and warned her husband? We don't really know much about him and if he was in cahoots with Linderman he probably has a fairly big role in it somewhere.

Good thinking. Also she seems to do weird things from time to time like getting caught shoplifhting. We obviously know she is not as stupid as we were led to believe. I think everything she has done has been for a reason. I agree with you as well, the dad has to be alive and kicking.
