The rooftop of Charles Deveaux's apartment building is connected in many ways within the Heroes universe...
It's where we first meet Peter, and he demonstrates his abilities. Simone's father lives and dies there. When Peter tries to convince Claude to help him, Peter mentions how strange it is that he worked there and Claude lived there (although Claude never confirms this). Claude also keeps and feeds a host of pigeons for some reason. Isaac and Simone reconnect as lovers there, much to the betrayal of Peter. Claude does eventually teach Peter how to harnass his abilities there. HRG and the Haitian try to capture both Claude and Peter, but that fails and leads to the infamous flying leap. And, of course, the rooftop shows up in several of Isaac's paintings of the future.
More recently, we see how Mr. Nakamura, Hiro, HGR, Claude, Thompson, and Claire all intersect 14 years ago at this one special location.
And as Isaac himself says, "There's something about this roof... It's connected to what's happening. It's important somehow."
What does it all mean? I'm rather intrigued by the rooftop. I certainly don't have the best guesses, but I'm curious to hear other people's theories about its significance.
