One of my favorite shows!! :D It's absolutely hilarious!!

I don't like how they moved it to Tuesdays though, I liked watching it on Thursday with Friends, Will and Grace, and ER. Oh well, as long as it's still on the air, then it's all good. :)

Does anyone know if there are plans for DVDs soon?

I think I've an episode or two of this series. I didn't think it was bad or so, but it was obviously not as serious as ER, and to me it looked more like a weird mix of ER-like situations and crazy humour. It's like taking the war situation out of MASH, add some more crazy events and let the events take place in a big hospital.
I can agree with you, it is very hilarious! Unfortunately it was on very late so I stopped watching after two episodes.

Well I like the tag for the shop:
Like ER only twice as fun, and half the length!

this is the second best new show on tv (next to SV)
it was on tuesdays originally, against SV, then moved to thursdays, but one week it would be on, the next its no where, and theres an hour of will and grace

Its sooooooo funny though, everything is funny about it, everything.

I'm a total scrubs fanatic (probably more than smallville) - turned all my friends onto it so now they get all my scrubs jokes and don't look at me like i'm a total freak (which I am though.)

As for the DVD's there are a few stumbling blocks...

The music in scrubs is varied.. you may not notice it but its probably got almost as many songs as smallville does. And before the DVD's are released they have to re-license all the songs for the DVD's.. this means alot of extra work for what is perceived to be a small audience. Personally I think NBC is doing a disservice to scrubs by not backing it more.. they should be heavily advertising this show as it has the potential to be better than friends.

ps: My Clean Break was totally frikken sweet, laughing constantly for 24 minutes... one of the best episodes this season.

My favourite ep is His Story in season two where they let Dr Cox be the narrator instead of J.D, classic....

"Mental high five?" - The Todd...

Mr Boejangles
02-05-2004, 05:36 PM
haha, man this show is awesome.

I cant wait for the DVD, i used to record every ep and save it, but I stoped 2 shows ago, cause i missed one, so now i must have the DVD... MUST with a capital MUST

vnea36kr
02-05-2004, 06:19 PM
I gotta have the DVDs!!
*sigh* NBC needs to hurry up and do whatever they can to get the show on DVDs!!

and yeah, Tuesday's episode was hilarious! definitely one of my favorites!! although I have so many..hehe :)

Nightfire
02-07-2004, 02:30 PM
I can't wait for the DVD's, but when they do come out, I'm gonna have to wait a while, coz I live in the UK, so it'll take a bit longer to reach here!

Mr Boejangles
02-08-2004, 08:07 AM
at least they are finally promoting the show.... beacuse of michale J fox. the show should be promoted without him having to be on.

Notice in the comercials they play background laughter... thats why i love the show there is no background laughter, why lets you discover the jokes on your own.

still i am glad they are promoting it.

I love Scrubs and i love Zac Braff :)

One of my favourite bits is where JD asks the janitor "How's it going?" to which he replies "I'm 39 years old and i'm a janitor, how do you think it's going"?

Yeah well it's funnier if you watched it. :\

he was really good, the last minute was sad, but great. only scrubs could pull it off.

MisterSpider
02-11-2004, 07:28 PM
That was a great episode, the last few minutes was awesome.

And to top it all off, Zach Braff was on the tonight show last night too, and he had a preview of next weeks episode (and there was a clip from a movie he did, "My Summer as a Girl", it was funny because he said that when he was making that movie he told himself that if he ever made it big Jay would show it on the tonight show, Jay just goes "You were right!" (longest use of parentheses ever!)).

omg! it was so sad! I can't believe he died!! :(

blitzschlange
02-24-2004, 07:18 PM
I was very pleased with the idea that he died . . . and they kept you guessing until the end. That was very cleverly handled, as from the time he had died onward, only Cox interacted with him. Very well written and well played.

Disco
02-24-2004, 07:50 PM
and of course i had to be posting on the site and not paying attention. who died?

vnea36kr

Ben, Jordan and Danni's sister.
He's like best friends with Dr. Cox. He had Leukemia.

Mr Boejangles
02-25-2004, 06:55 PM
yeah i just watched it on tape... that came out of nowhere... i loved it, thats not normal for a tv show to have a big reveal like that (thats more of a movie thing)

Very sad, but Very Good TV

blitzschlange
02-25-2004, 09:42 PM
And again, very well written, especially when Cox just got out of the car, and he asks about taking the pictures. It's obvious he must be talking to Ben, who was already established as the camera nut. When J.D. says, 'Where do you think we are?' I honestly got all teary. I mean, that's when I saw how sad it all was, and that Cox couldn't deal with it, and that's why he blamed J.D. because J.D. was in charge when Ben died. They never say his name. Just EXCELLENT writing, really. Not much like that on TV nowadays, especially sitcoms. By the way, remember the season premiere of season TWO last year? STILL can't get over the cool use of 'Overkill,' my FAVORITE song of all time. Men at Work RULES!!!!!

Mr Boejangles
02-26-2004, 08:23 PM

JD & carla continue to try to convince Turk that their kiss meant nothing.

The janitor forces Kelso to get him a new uniform and he does. but it is baby blue which cause everyone who seems him to be happy and touch him.
-a side story has the lawyer wearing orange tie, which makes people angry and hit him.

Dr.cox tries to make a teen patient talk to him, but he can not get her to, so Blonde doctor(cant remember her name) talks to the girl and he has to admit she was right.

JD carla and Turk make up. but JD says he will move out of the apt anyway.

Loved last weeks episodes in the UK - episodes 5 and 6.

This week's episodes are the ones where Holly Clock leaves - which is a shame as she fitted in very very well.

The Season 1 DVDs is released in the UK in June and the extras sound great - gag reel which you expected from a show like this. I will be deffo buying that DVD set.

Heather Graham was also in "Lost in Space" with Matt Le Blanc, "The Guru" and she guest appeared in "Anger Management" with Adam Sandler (she played the crazy girl he picked up in the bar).

okay, I have a question for the room:
favourite JD fantasy?

mine has to be in the second season when he has the Rerun fantasy. That is genius! That was actually the episode that got me hooked on the show.

One of my favorite JD fantasies (not my all time favorite, it's too hard to pick one!) is when he's telling Dr Clock about how his fantasies always cut, right at the sexy part (from episode 406-"My Cake"):

Molly: Please, I mean, who could imagine what it's like in your [Turk's] head?

J.D.'s Thoughts: I'll take this one.

<J.D fantasizes about Turk's head>

The Sanford & Son theme plays in Turk's head, which is decorated with "male symbols," lava lamps; and looks somewhat like the inside of a genie's bottle. Molly walks in wearing a negligee. Carla turns around, wearing similar attire.

Carla: Hey, welcome to Turk's head. You look really hot.

Molly: Wait a second, you're not a lesbian.

Carla: [long suffering] I am in here.

Molly: Yeah, me too.

They lean in to kiss, but before it happens, we go...

<Back to reality>

J.D.: Dammit! Molly, you're a shrink: why is it my daydreams always end right before the sexy part.

Molly: I don't know, maybe we should work on that... together.

Molly leans in to kiss J.D., wind blowing her hair... but before it happens, we again go...

<Back to reality>

J.D.: Dammit!

Turk: Dude! Relax... and enjoy hot chocolate love.

Turk grabs J.D.'s face, and leans in to kiss him. J.D. looks panicked.

J.D.'s Thoughts: Snap out of it! Abort! ABORT!

<Back to reality>

J.D.: Stop it! I don't have gay jungle fever!!!
------------------------------------------------------

And not that anyone asked, but my favorite Turk fantasy is when he plans to ask Dr Kelso for a new argon laser, and imagines Dr Kelso headbutting a nurse, kicking a wheelchair-bound guy down the stairs, etc. That cracks me up every time!

Just finished watching the first of this weeks episode... I had prepared myself for full on Wizard of Oz stuff... but it was, for the most part, pretty sutble. I didn't cotton on to the "Ruby Slippers" until the very end... and the way they worked in the whole heart, brains, courage thing was really well done.

Zach Braff directed this one, and it was the 100th episode... So.. congratulations to Scrubs, i guess.

And... Just watched the second episode. Enjoyed it aswell, the whole Ostrich thing was pretty funny..

I love how Scrubs can get really serious though... Which it did in this episode... They do it in a way that doesn't seem forced, when coming from a comedy... I'd love to be able to write like that.

Scrubs is such an amazing show, it doesn't get the recognition it deserves. It's so unique! It can be hillariously funny or terribly sad! I also love how real it is, you know? It's not like other tv shows, there's something special about it.

I love scrubs!!!! Im a massive fan of it!!! And i was happy when ABC took it for another season and now it gets the final season/ finale it deserves!!

This season will be brilliant as Bill Lawerence said theyre going back to the acting style/ episode style of seasons 1-3 etc...They were the best seasons that attracted lots of fans and the best episodes came from them seasons... I cant wait!!! Will be vintage scrubs again!

Although because of the move to ABC they had 2 trim the budget, this is good because theres no major changes, just smaller writing cast, 4.5 days of filming instead of 5 and every character gets 2 episodes off, this includes Zach Braff though its happened before anyway where you see the best actors in scenes once and thats it.

I cant wait for it...its getting me more intense to watch it by the minute! :)

Here's hoping they have the end-run the show deserve's and that JD finally man's up and just marries Elliot!! Everyone on planet want's those two to finally put down the sword and pick-up their own baby bottle already.

Clarification: Elliot and JD's (possible) kid ....not JD's and Kim's kid.

I just hope they tie thing's up ....no matter the scenario's...just want the show to be finalized in the right manner (not how NBC does thing's).

NBC been on tear of late , pissing fanbase's off: Scrub's, Journeyman(didn't even get chance to develope as a show). I could go one but I think there is to much fast cooked show's(by Executive's) out there and not enough plot driven show(that get a chance to develope a fanbase).

If isn't a hit...we get ride it mentality~~

Good luck Scurb's on ABC!!

Ano scrubs will finally get a proper time slot on NBC for 1 full season (Probably the Last) though if it hits the sufficient ratings which i think it will with the time slot and being the last season along with them returning to the original way of doing things (Seasons 1-3) they will diffently increase and this could lead to the show being further picked up if the cast are on Board though im nat sure Zach Braff would be, though he said he wants to.

Heres to september when it returns and let vintage scrubs begin :)

I love Scrubs now! I just started watching it one day, and now, its one of my fav shows on TV!
I heard Season 8 might not be the last, but if S9 happens, Zach Braff might not be in it.
And, the poster above me, I've also noticed that. I record all the epis, and I have to delete a lot, because they show the same over and over again, and they only show S4, I think.

I'm pretty sure that its a full season. But, I heard that there could be a S9. But, the downside would be no Zach Braff.

comptonassmel
07-13-2008, 10:12 AM
Zach Braff is the narrator. To take away the narrator on a show like that and not have him at all is really stupid. It would be nice for the show to continue but not without him.

krewsaider
07-13-2008, 03:01 PM
There's no way they could do Scrubs without Zach Braff. Maybe do a spinoff or something with one of those new interns.

comptonassmel

I would not be surprised if they tried to do the show without him. Networks are so desperate to keep popular shows going that sometimes they ruin them just to keep them on-air.

redkryptoniteisthebest
07-15-2008, 10:51 AM
Yeah, if Zach Braff leaves the show, its not even Scrubs. If they did a S9, they'd probably put Turk, Dr. Cox or Elliot as the narrator. But, honestly, I can't see S9 happening.

comptonassmel
07-16-2008, 12:08 PM
They have done episodes with other narrators, if I remember correctly, but there is no way they could sustain the show as they had been without JD narrating. His quirky narration is essentially half of the show. It would just not be the same.

I just don't see Scrubs doing as well without J.D. Like I said before, it won't be the same without him. If they still decided to do a S9 w/out him, would they still do the fantasies and all the thoughts that make Scrubs even more funny?

comptonassmel
07-29-2008, 02:45 PM
That's what I am wondering. Who are they going to have narrating? Are they still going to have a narrator at all? It seems so impossible to have the show without him and still call it the same show. That's like trying to have Angel without Angel and still calling it Angel. They should change the name if they are going to do it without Zach.

redkryptoniteisthebest
07-31-2008, 01:08 PM
If they still wanted to have a narrator, then they should go with either Turk or Elliot. Haha yeah, Scrubs just won't be the same without him. I could bet that the ratings will go down after Season 8.

But, going back to the narrating, maybe they'll do a thing like they do with the Their Story episodes. But, instead of some major and minor characters talking, let it be Turk, Elliot and Dr. Cox. That could possibly work out.

vyperman7

In all honesty, I have never really been a fan of 30 minute sitcom comedy type shows. However, the few acceptions I have made to this have been Married with Children, Arrested Development, and Scrubs. Scrubs is one of my favorite shows ever. All of the characters are fantastic, and the writing on the show has been outstanding. As a viewer, you really get to feel like you have taken a journey with all of them over the years. I have never watched an episode of Scrubs on TV though. I am strictly a DVD guy for Scrubs. With that being said, I have only seen the first six seasons. I would have been cool with S7 being the last if it had been given a proper series finale. However, when I heard that the season finale was a silly stand alone, with no real closure, I was bummed to hear that S7 was the last. I was very happy however, when I found out that ABC was going to take a chance on Scrubs and give it an 8th season. Now the show will finally be able to have a true finale that brings closure.

I have two hopes for S8 of Scrubs...

1) It is the last season. The main point of Scrubs was focus on J.D., Elliot, and Turk as interns/residents. However, now that they are all attendings, the show has lost a little bit of its charm. I also heard a rumor that ZB wants to leave after this season, and you can't have Scrubs without JD.

2) I really want JD and Elliot to finally end up together. If the show ends any other way, I will be pissed. I have been a huge fan of "Jelliot" since day one, and even though it has been frustrating with all of the back and forth, they truly belong together.

nicmar
10-24-2008, 07:01 PM
I just hope we get the great finale we deserve as for the show continuing Braff is out he said that he is done no matter what his contract is up and he did not renew I think that abc asked for a way for the show to continue if ratings are good but seeing as Scrubs has never been a huge draws I don't see it but in any case there will be some young doctors that will have some screen time and if they click then Scrubd may continue as one ABC exec as " a comedy version of ER" which I take to mean continuing with out regard to cast.

Well Bill Lawrence has said that he, Zach Braff, and Judy Reyes plan to leave the show after this season so I'm sure it's going to be the last season. I know there's been some rumors that ABC wants to continue the show with Dr. Cox and the new interns, but I don't think it'll happen. And as far as I know Scrubs was supposed to me a mid-season relacment but recently Ausiello said it could come earlier.

Loved the premire! If the season is going to be like this, it'll be great. The second episode really reminded me of episodes from the first three years. I don't think many shows can say this, but I think the writer's strike was a blessing in disguise for the show. The 7th season wasn't anywhere near what the final season should be, but this season is off to a great start. My only concern is with the new interns (which for the record, I enjoy) I feel like characters such as Kelso and Todd will take a back seat. In fact, when was the last time The Todd was in an episode? It feels like forever.

Really liked the second episode a lot. Major props for the writers brining back the sex buddy sound effect. Also, did J.D. say he rented Garden State? If so, two major props. I think it's safe to say (so far) that I can put this in the group of good Scrub seasons (which include Season 1,2,3,and 5) and in 4 episodes, has already made up for the mess that was season 7. My only regret is that it's going to end too soon for me. If they keep showing two episodes a week and there's only 19 episodes this season, it's going to end...soon.

Zach isn't a writer, he has directed a few episodes including the 100th episode. Zach and Judy have said they are leaving after this season along with Bill Lawrence who is going to do a sitcom with Courtney Cox called Cougerville for ABC. I think the show would focus on the new interns, but I wish they would call it something other then Scrubs. In a recent interview he said that there is a plan for a season 9 and he supports it because of the recession, writers and directors need to stay at jobs that the can make money.

i think they will, for at least the first season they should still have dr. cox, the janitor and some of the other supporting characters

I would love for Dr. Cox to still be in it for awhile, although I have my suspicons that Bill Lawrence may retire him at the end of this season. Janitor would be nice too and I would say Turk or Elliot, Judy is no longer going to be on the show so it would be weird to just have Turk by himself and I'm sure Sarah is going to move onto bigger things.

Also, something else occured to me. Whatever happened to the episodes that were shot but never aired last season? I know they filmed more then 11 and Bill was upset with the episode that NBC decided to air as a finale. I would like to see them (despite my dislike for season 7)

ledzepfan23
01-16-2009, 05:24 PM

Re-watching the first episode of season 8 I could see the spin-off about the interns, but they would have to add a few characters and I would like to see interns/doctors from the past like Keith (he should be an attende now, right) and also whatever happened to Boone from last year? I really think if they just added some doctors and maybe two more interns, it could work. But please, don't call it Scrubs: Season 9. In fact, I would like if it didn't have the word Scrubs in it.

I think you could bring in Dr. Kelso for guest apperrances (if Ken wants to) for his "fatherly advice" to the interns. Everyone else, I think it would be nice to make cameo apperances.

Ya but to get the show going and develop an audience your going to need characters that the old viewers recognize. Maybe for the first season they could still have everyone except J.D. and Carla cause they are leaving. Either way im still going to check out.

Yeah, I think the problem is right now we don't know where everyone is going to end up. We could easily say, the janitor could be in the spin-off, but right now we don't know what happens to him in the finale. It should be noted that the most succesful spin-off was Fraiser (according to some people) which only had one character from Cheers. I'm not saying Scrubs could pull that off, but it does show that it's possible.

I have also heard that while Bill Lawrence is going to be busy with the new comedy with Courtney Cox on ABC (which I will give a shot since it is Bill) if ABC wants Scrubs or the spin-off to return, he will come up with the conception of it. So at least it'll have the creator's blessing.

Yup, Scrubs rock.

JD and Turk's 'guy love' is just one of the funniest things ever :rotfl:

Maybe one of you guys know why all the usual TV shows weren't shown yesterday? e.g. The Big Bang Theory, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill etc.

I thought the first episode was okay, but for some reason I felt that the Sesame Street was a little forced. But one thing that really struck me, especially the last scene, was it really focused on the new interns. I'm still not sure what ABC will do about the possible continuation of Scrubs, but the interns are devloping from the season premire. Jo is def. my favorite so far. She has so much comedic potential and character devlopment.

I have not. Is it on ABC.com? I think they are really setting scrubs up to be taken over by the interns based on all the story lines revolving around them.
