AWESOME!!! I already discussed this episode on the spoilers page yesterday, this ep had more reveals then the rest of the season combined. Hiro's dad has a huge part in the show now, and will be back for the good or bad of it. HRG was very good and the result of the ending sets up a new storyline, that I'm betting that no one would of guessed. I even liked Matt, he turned likeable by trying to protect the Bennetts. This season has so many directions it can go in I don't think I can wait a week between episodes.

Awesome episode!

~~~SPOILERS~~~
I really liked HRG in this episode, he seemed more human. I wonder if Parkman is going to team up with HRG like the "boss" suggested. There was something I didn't quite understand. Why did the hatian guy have to shot HRG? Didn't make much sense to me. Also, why did HRG call his boss only for him to witness Claire's ability? Anyway great episode!
I'm guessing HRG was shot to make it look like he didn't let Claire go.
And, I really liked the episode. It's been a recurring thing in Heroes that I've only really just sat down and thought about; in five minutes of Heroes, I believe more development happens than in half a year of Smallville. I'm not exaggerating, this literally happens.
I love Smallville, but I will be glad when it's over; with a quality show such as Heroes out there, it's painful to watch Smallville die an agonizing death.
Whoever gave it an 8 needs to be shot.
That would be me <ducks> :)
Things that downgraded the episode for me:
I wasn't particularly fond of the ending, I think it would've been better if HRG died.
I think it's about time we knew the name of the Haitian.
The door-handle melting didn't look too good, and was unnecessary anyway (a simple LAPD-style door-kicking from Matt would've been cool enough).
And the constant running in and out of the nuclear house by everyone at the end was tiresome, I half expected Mr Muggles to run in to try to sedate Nuclear Man.
I totally agree with you, Heroes really is as good as advertised. I've read comics for over 30 years, and Smallville just isn't believable anymore. Having kryptonite responsible for everything, and Clark running to Chloe for advice is sickening. Hopefully this is the last season and tptb pull a Seinfeld while they are sort of on top. Heroes is the new sci fi show to watch. I agree about the dislikes you talked about but I overlooked them. The one part that was stupid was all the radiation Ted must of been releasing. They would all be glowing from the amounts they soaked up. Matt enjoy your baby on the way because you just fried your boys now.
You're right its like Heroes keeps me coming back for me, all the while with the urge to call somebody and talk about it. On the same token, Smallville just doesn't do that for me anymore. I'm getting really tired of watching it and just being unimpressed....Smallville was my favorite show, but now theres a NEW Hero in town. I give Smallville 1 final season after this to hopefully tie up loose ends and lead Clark into Earth-2 Greatness.
I'm gonna have to give this one an 8. Great revelations all around, but it was definitely HRG/Claire burnout. I wanted a little bit of Peter, whathisface, and Simone Maybe some Claude. Maybe some Nathan. They didn't have enough time to fit that in, that's fair enough, but still, too much HRG and Claire for me, even though I like that storyline. I like that Heroes usually focuses on a little bit of a few different heroes rather than one set.
OH MY GOD!
WOW!
That episode was the best of the series so far. It was so amazing.
I was so happy the whole episode focused on HRG and Claire. It was really great. All the flashbacks were good as well! :D So Hiro's father is also in it. So interesting.
I am just blown out of the water right now.
That was a great episode. really powerful stuff. that ending was crazy with them shooting HRG and deleted claire from his head. the special effects were great. claire regenerating after the ted stuff reminded me of wiolverine in xmen 3 when he was going to stop the pheonix. it was cool seeing the back story and see a young hiro. that was cool. and how claude was HRGs first partner.
So Matt is gonna be HRG's new partner?
I was just reading the plot summary of next weeks episode and it says the new hero makes an "illusive" debut. Perhaps she has the ability to create illusions for the mind or something.
I wonder who Claude was hiding.
I really loved this episode. I love all the episodes, but this one was intense, tragic, and even funny at the same time, so much so, I think it may be one of my favorite episodes. Definitely a 10. Bryan Fuller is an outstanding writer, and an ace at dialogue.
I like the usual multiple story threads going on at once, but I can see why they chose to focus on this one story throughout. It sets up so much for the future, and there are now a lot of ways Claire can go. Her life has changed forever, and this brings her closer to finding out more about her biological family.
I also love how they found a way to cast George Takei so that his can be a recurring character.
I had a feeling HRG would turn out to be a "Goodguy".
See the posts from last week's episode.
It looks like Heroes knocked another one outta the park!
The effects & makeup put this one over the top, Claire's radiation burns were outstanding.
Wow, I cannot explain how much I liked this episode.
I thought it was slow at first, but then I realized it was because they didn't do all the plot changes to the other people. I think it was great how they "humanized" HRG more, to show why he wanted to keep Claire and everyone oblivious to her power.
I guess the Haitian is getting some Claude feelings in him since he wants to protect Claire as well. The door handling had to be used so they can showcase the powers, I mean there are 1,000,000 cop shows that have the door being kicked in. The writers are probably trying to incorporate as many superhuman abilities as possible.
Now who's HRG's new boss?
Hmm...
It showed a very different HRG than the one we thought he was.
Can someone clarify, HRG did not die last night, correct? Because he asked the guy to shot him below the ribcage and if he "shot 2 inches higher he would die." So HRG did not die, he just wanted it to look like someone shot him and then took off with Claire correct?
I gave this episode a 10!!!
The episode focused on Claire and HRG and I thought that was pretty cool. It's great to have as many of the characters as you can in one episode but it is also nice when you can focus in on just one for one episode to flesh them out.
I felt bad for HRG and what he had to do. It shows he started out ambitious but then as Claire was given to him by Hiro's father, human compassion won out as it always should. I thought the Haitian was going to kill HRG at the end and I leapt out of my seat shouting "no". Poor Claire but now she will have to turn to others like her for help which might lead to her confrontation with Nathan her father.
Now Matt is captured and I wonder what is to become of this guy. I hope Matt and HRG take out that other operative who was asking for Claire.
Next episode promises to be another fantastic blowout with Hiro getting the sword, Mr. Linderman being revealed, and all kinds of goodies coming.
I was glued last night. I had some friends over and they left during the last 10 min. of the show, and I just waved at them. I could not turn away!
That is good tv, because all I could think after the show was "I want more!" I wanted Heroes to be on 24/7, and just keep going. That's when I know a show is really good.
This is the best episode for me thus far this season. I always feel a bit cheated and bewildered when they try to follow too many characters in one episode, so this one really made an impression. Loved every minute of it. I had a feeling Bennet would end up a 'good guy' when it came to his family, so no surprise for me there. The special effects were excellent. I don't get the connection with Hiro and his father yet, but colour me very intrigued! I am still chuckling at the fact that Hiro is portrayed as a Trekkie and his father is played by none other than George Takei! I wonder if Hiro is also adopted and if not, is his sister also gifted?
I thought The Episode was Awesome, I really did enjoy it, I really liked The Scene where Claire is trying to stop Ted, and The House blows up, and she comes out and did not even get hurt, that was my Favorite Scene in The Episode, and it was also great to see Hiro when he was a little Kid, and I thought it was Interesting to see Hiro's father have something to do with Claire's Adoption, I wonder if MR Bennet will remember Claire at all, and I wonder what is going to happen to Matt, I can't wait to find out, I can't wait to see Next Week's Episode, it is going to be great.
I loved it! The best part for me was seeing Mr. Bennett's secret past and how he adopted baby Claire, the origins of the Haitian (sp), and the conspiracy that is the "paper factory" (Wow, Mr. Nakamura? Now maybe I wasn't paying close attention, but I didn't see that coming at all!) .
Claire stopping nuclear man was really cool, too (the special effects when the house was burning were awesome) and I thought Eric Roberts was great as Bennett's boss, and so creepy.
I loved that Eric Roberts, who played The Doctor's archnemesis The Master in the Doctor Who TV movie, shared a scene, albeit brief, with Christopher Eccleston.
I also loved that they've managed the impossible and I now *gasp* like Claire's mom! I think a lot of that has to do with Ashley Crow's performance... she's really good.
in this episode Matt and Ted take the Bennet family hostage. Ted loses control of his powers and burns the Bennets' house. In flashbacks, Bennet is given Claire on the condition that he return her to the Company that he works for if her powers manifest. Bennet explains this as the reason why is he so protective of Claire. Bennet orders the Haitian to escape with Claire. its all about this episode
