It sounded more like a reference to the slave island from X-Men to me. A good reference for an episode with Stan Lee.

I agree....It sounded more like whole thing with the X-Men and Genoshia with slave mutants than a Lost reference. But you never know.....perception is reality after all.

I thought of Genosha and then I thought maybe the Invisible Man and his buddies may have a past where they were wrangled on an island that way.. and this was a forshadow of a future reveal.
I'm a big LOST fan tho, and I know the producers and writers of LOST are huge fans of HEROES.

Agreed, that the reference was to Genosha and the X Men. Nathan may turn out to be the Senator Kelly character and introduce mutant registration although it possibly would not happen until the future.

I too thought of Genosha.

My first thought was that it was a Lost reference, and thinking about it some more, I'm still sure it was. Nathan said he'd round them up and put them in a lab on an island in the middle of the ocean. Genosha isn't known for it's laboratories (I don't really recall there being any), but for it's slavery. Lost, however, seems to be more about laboratories than the island these days.
