Well that kinda sucks. It doesn't really make sense, since Sylar's only real power is the "see how things work" thing. Ah well, Peter definitely has the upper hand for sure now, as he will have everything Sylar does and more.
True but for now Sylar is better at controlling it.

Ya it looks it. but i think that peter gets his powers off the dna and not the person who is holding the dna.

This begs the question: if Sylar took Peter's power, would he automatically get all the powers that Peter already has?

No. Peter naturally absorbs powers just by being around people. Sylar can sense how things work, and rewire his brain to work like the brains of the people he's killed, thus gaining their powers. They are basically the same, but fundamentally different in their methods. It's basically Ultimate Good vs. Ultimate Evil.

My immediate thought upon seeing the extended flying scene: is that Dean Cain? :P That was definitely some Lois and Clark flight, but that just proves that even in this day and age of CG, that kind of flying still looks dang cool.

I can't wait to make a clip of him flying so I can run it back & forth
So far this is a Power-centric episode.

i dont think he has all of sylars powers, just the ones he used around him if he even used that many.

Considering Peter absorbs powers that don't even have to be "activated" then I'm fairly sure he has all the powers Sylar had at his disposal at the time of their encounter. And if they showdown once Sylar has absorbed morepowers, Peter will get those powers too. Actually, this could be Pete's biggest weakness in the fight. Sylar will have already adjusted and learned to control those powers, but think of the shock of fighting Sylar and suddenly getting those superhearing headaches?

I hope we're able to actually see Sylar use his Cryokinesis power sometime b4 seasons end. So far we've only gotten a hint of it in like episode 2 when we saw that crime scene in L.A., where that guy at the table was frozen with his scalp cut off. And also in the most recent online graphic novel, we see Sylar use this power against the cops.

Well if he does have sylars powers, maybe he starts to get his "hunger" for more power. Its possible that Peter has to struggle to maintain his control of it later in the show. I wouldnt be surprised if Sylar tried to convince Peter to join him rather then fight him. I think this is going to be one hell of a fight later in the show.

The reason peter gets all sylar's powers is because sylar, reconstructs his DNA permanently to add the powers, and peter temporarily reconstucts it on command. and temporarily. and peter can reconstruct it to the way sylar's was the night of the homecoming dance. so he can use all the powers that sylar's DNA consisted of when he fought him.

Would peter not be able to KNOW how all of the new powers worked since he took sylars original power of knowing and seeing how things work....that should make his powers super easy to control just like sylar he may just not know it yet but he figured it out pretty qwik, telekenisis, invisibilily, suggestion, flight all in a row qwillike and whatnot he knows just how to control them now....

Sylar wasn't controling the superhearing very well the next morning after he "gained" it.

'Sylar wasn't controling the superhearing very well the next morning after he "gained" it.' I think he was controling it just fine, it just happens that when he gets a power, he uses it to its full potential (remember the guy with telekinesis? he could barely move a glass, but when Sylar got the power he moved it pretty effortlessly... possibly becacuse of his 'understanding' of how it works), so the rap music was just too loud for him...

Peter has 1 weakness and that goes along with the period of adjustment theory that I have been posting about. Sylar needs an adjustment period to get full control over the powers he takes i.e. headache from super ears, and half melted phones. Peter may also need the same type of time to adjust to new abilities b4 he can call on them at will. But whereas Sylar can only take one ability at a time, giving him time to adapt. When Peter encounters Sylar absorbing all those abilities at once probably knocked him out of commission for a while. If Sylar has a load of new powers when they meet again what's to say Peter does not get overwhelmed by the influx of new abilities he is not ready to handle?

Let's hope he's adjusted for that now, & can do something to quickly compensate.

Peter said he had to think of Claire when he regenerated after totalling the taxi.
So right now we can't be sure.
