That was...woah!! AM did an oustanding proformance of looking scared, panicked, and hurt at the same time!
The only thing that I thought yeah right was at the end when after it was all done she was just covered the hole that clark made with her hand and acted like she was fine. Clark heated a hole in you and stuck a in it!! You would still be in pain and possibly be passed out!

---By the way, Chloe trusting Clark to burn right through her, and his willingness to do it, shows a deep amount of love. I don't know if it's romantic, or if it'll ever be (I'm not rooting one way or another), but it's nice to know that friends that are that loyal exist (even if it is tvland).

Well I think chloe's luv for clark has been known for awhile, but after tonight we jus may have seen the beginnin of clark feelin the same.Cause the trust issue was key in that talon scene, they completely trust each other. We've been told/shown that they r close but I think the level of trust that was shown, shows us that its alil deeper than we think.Thats why sum see their last scene as bein alil sumthin more, because the whole epi showed chlark in a diff light. We kno they r real close but intil tonight we didn't kno how deep they were truly willing to go for each other/trust each other. And I think that was a key point for chlark,so whether it leads to romantic feelings or not the luv between them cant be question. But as for romantic feelings/luv I think chloe's has been shown for awhile, and up intil Lab I believe we r startin to see clark look at her diff.Dont kno where it may lead but tonight definitely showed its wasn't jus friendship there, their bond is deeper at this point

Television or otherwise, I'm surprised the writers allowed Clark to use heat-vision on a mortal. First of all, Clark didn't necessarily know what his heat-vision could potentially to do his best friend, hence, Clark being apprehensive. Contrary to his original thoughts, he carries on despite his doubts. I understand you want to prevent your best friend from possibly being murdered, but burning a hole through her chest isn't exactly keeping her out of harms way -- severe infection (I realize Clark didn't have time, but he didn't sterilize his hands nor his fingers), third-degree (or higher) burns internally and externally, altered-internal organs, irritation of surrounding internal organs, melted collar-bone..... I could continue.
Secondly, why didn't Clark pick Chloe up and speed around town for a while? Hopefully if they ran around long enough and fast enough, the GPS tracking device would give out.

It's from the comics, and yeah it's pretty heavy stuff. But not as bad as the Justice League messing with the minds of criminals (e.g. converting Catwoman into a hero, well sort of anyway).
If I remember correctly they (JLA) also lobotomized Doomsday in the cartoon. The only one speaking up against it there was Batman.

Saying Clark had a pocket knife was a poor cover, I thought; that sounds so unsanitary--but Jimmy bought it. You know, Clark should have used his x-ray vision & his heat vision to just deactivate the chip inside her; maybe he hasn't figured out how to do that yet. I think maybe Chloe's super power could be speedy-healing, just not quite as fast as "Wolverine".

You heard correctly. Also, Chloe's power is a super brain -- that's obvious fro/m the way she hacks into all sorts of encrypted systems, plus it's been revealed that her mother is also a freak with a "super" brain.

for some of you that said she didnt even scream, Im a firefighter in Maryland state, and people with severe burns dont scream, once the nerves are killed they don't feel the area anymore. So once he had burned open the wound with the amount of heat that would have been required to do that, I say that now that i have finally been able to watch, Thank god for TVO, she wouldnt even have felt the cut and the closing.
and it was well acted for effect..

Im not sure exactly what she will have but from what i have seen there are a few possibilities they have put in here and fromthe spoilers on the website I would have to go with the super inteligence, so far as well as maybe a faster healing ability, because in the whole series she has done things both with and with out pcs that would require alot of intel, and then she has been injured and healed very quickly but that could just be writers, and we just don't know what her powers are.

That was definitely one of those scenes where you're cringing right a long with the character. I think I cringed so much I back myself in to the fartherst corner of my couch by the time it was over.
And then when he stuck his fingers in her wound and dug around I yelled at my TV, "You BDA, use tweazers not you big fat man fingers!!"
That whole scene though was incredibly well acted by both AM and TW. They seem to bring the best out of each other. AM did perfectly with her wide range of emotions from scared, to panicked, to hysterical, to incredibly in pain. And TW did a great job showing how concerned and freaked out by it all. In fact, I think this may be the most emotion he's shown on his face to this date. Usually Clark is so stone-y face and doesn't show his thoughts and feelings in his expressions. But in this episode he did an excellent job of showing his emotions.

I'm pretty sure he can control the wind speed he blows out of his mouth, lol
One of the best scenes of this season in my opinion.
Great tension, good acting, and very poignant and touching. You could definitely feel Chloe's panic and Clark's sense of helplessness, then horror, then resolve to save his friend at the cost of literally burning her to do it--all while both are thinking the device could kill her at any time.
It was a great superman moment that relied more on subtlety than raw power and was both an unexpected and pleasant surprise from a series that often leans too heavily on grandiose moments to rescue a shallow plot.

That scene was so intense, I think it really sums up how strong clark and chloes relationship is. Only a true friend would burn a hole into their friend :)

That was AMAZING BRILLIANT!!!!!!!
Wow, I felt sorry for Chloe and her pains!!!! Did you saw Clarks tears in his eyes? It hurts him so much to hurt Chloe in this way! I was a emotional moment and a true friend moment between them! Chloe must really trust Clark!
She cried and Clark's face was full of fear and pain!!!
Clark screamed: Chloe I am not gonna burn you!!!!
I really was shocked as I saw this scene but it was amazing at the same time too!
Oh god, I love to watch this all!
Looking forward to see more!!!!
love from germany
What I forget to say: As Clark stucked his fingers in her wound! And Chloe screamed and he said: I'm sorry!!!!
Why didn't they show more after that? The next thing you saw was that Chloe and Clark look at the computer and the next scene was as Jimmy camed in.
Yes this was a scene were I felt with them! It hurts me too as Chloe was in pain! And also Clark was in pain 'cause of Chloe!!!!
Their friendship is really amazing!!!!!
A knife and his xray vision would have been better wouldn't have burned.

It showed us how deep their love for eachother is! Now you saw that Clark is able to burn chloe if it is the only chance to safe her!
Since the first epis. of season 6 I knew that Clark felt more for Chloe! And after this scene we saw that he feels more than she or he thought! It isn't just a friendship anymore!!!!

I appologize to anyone who has already written a thread about this... but I haven't seen it yet
Anyways,
It occurs to me that if Clark HAD to burn a whole in Chloe's shoulder, and rip a bullet out with his hands... it would have been a Whole Lot Less Painfull, had he done it at super speed
I mean, Chloe spent a good 5 seconds screaming in pain, when Clark could have had the thing out before she knew what she had asked of him.
But... budget costs, nitpicking, blah blah blah..just saying is all

Okay, this shows that Chloe completely trusts Clark.. I mean, we all knew that but to have someone burn you and you allow it to happen. That goes above and beyond trust. I love these two!

I don't think that would have worked.
Even if Clark went at superspeed, Chloe's skin would have only burned at normal speed.
Right?
I don't know I'm terrible with physics.

I have never seen Clark use heatvision while superspeeding in any version. He could have pulled the bullet out in superspeed tough.
What really surprised me is that he didn't close the wound using his heatvision after he was done (like in some of the comics or Lois & Clark). Maybe he lacks the confidence or doesn't know how, yet.

Hands down the best scene in the season so far. Screw biting nails - I was nearly biting my entire hand off.

This particular scene was unbelievably intense, one of many Smallville moments that had me on the edge of my seat and biting my nails. I'm surprised that Clark actually went through with it. You could tell he was terrified. I was like aghhhh FTW!

While I really liked the scene, I would like to see a bit of follow-up to it i.e. Clark fully realising how dangerous his heat vision can be on humans if not kept in check.

the funny thing that the writers overlooked when Jimmy came back in the Talon was this: if Chloe tells Jimmy there was a GPS device in her and they had to improvise...Jimmy should have wondered how they knew WHERE the GPS device was. It could have been ANYWHERE on her body,....stomach, ankle, chest, legs...anywhere....
he didnt even ask how they knew where it was..that was a slip up...but jimmy didnt seem to buy her explanation anyway..he just let it go....

 I thought that 2,as for him not buyin it and lettin it go ur right. It definitely look like he wasn't buyin what chloe said which was why chloe had to say "Jimmy" jus to get him to let it go,its obvious the boy is denyin anythin chlark related. He's jus overlookin everythin as long as he's got the girl, but he definitely should have asked about their knowledge of the GPS location
