Why do you suppose Lex is killing freaks?

Lex was killing the meteor freaks when he could have been experimenting instead? He collected their DNA and then had them killed. Any thoughts?

OK, maybe I got today's epi all wrong...

But about GPS-tracking all these freaks and then killing them so it looks like an accident...

I thought Lex wants to build an army of some sort, or at least perform experiments on people with abilities........why does he suddenly want to kill them?!? Is is a vendetta?

I think he's kidnapping them because he wants to study their powers and possibly learn how to get them himself? I don't really know, but I do think he wants to study them. Then he obviously can't send them back out, so he kills them.

maybe he didnt kill them he just deactivated the tracking device so that chloe couldnt trace them as well

well i know he said something about dna , maybe to alter there powers or clone them , killing them i dont know my guess can be that he dosnt want freaks to come back and distroy him ( justice)

I was wondering about this too, but someone else suggested this...
He wasn't planning on killing them, but when the computer was "compromised" he had to get rid of anyone he hadn't brought in yet.

I think because now that the computer was stolen, he says to the doc..."I have no choice"....!!!!!! he might have suspected Chloe or Oueen industries to track them back to him...!!!! we would know...!!!

He wants to know about kryptonite, but he doesn't want a handful of infected people out there- who hate him. Besides, he hates infected people and sees them as a threat.

The GPS is to keep their location incase they escape.

The hiding of it, is so no one knows.

OR. Just to keep them quiet. Either one.

Well the epi implied something different, right?
That the GPS tracking would allow Lex to find the freaks, kill them and make it look like accidents...

I thought the GPS was because Lex always planned on keeping tabs, just like at the end of the ep he said to keep a close eye on chloe. I think that the GPS and the killings were two separate points. Just that having the GPS made it easier to find and kill them, but he was already keeping tabs on them and their powers after he intentionally released them.

I think he wants to study their DNA and kill the ones he knows won't cooperate (everyone in yesterday's episode that he either killed or tried to kill were good freaks). And he wants to replicate those powers (based on DNA alterations) in the freaks that he knows will cooperate or in people who are not yet freaks but will be induced by Lex's men to be freaks.

It's entirely possible that Chloe is not a freak (that Clark was the one Tobias thought was a freak) & that Lex did not find anything different in her DNA but wants to keep tabs on her because he's expecting her to be one based on what Tobias said.

They did that whole thing with the green dots disappearing and all that jazz, but why would Lex kidnap the freaks one day, then kill them the next? Wouldn't he want them for 33.1 or his 'super army' or something? Or do you think it was just done for plot?

he needed to tie the loose ends and he they knew too much without even knowing it. so he had to ice them

Lex's plan seemed to be tagging the meteor freaks. I figured that the logical reason to do that would be to learn more about the individuals and develop a method to deceive, manipulate or coerce them into submission. However, when the doctor "lost" his laptop, Lex clearly told him that he doesn't leave loose ends, so he had all the tagged freaks killed so that nothing would lead back to him. It probably made his project a near total loss (he still has Chloe to monitor), but it saved him from being implicated in anything.
