I don't know, but the way the writers had Lex say to 'watch this one'- Chloe is going to start to come out with some amazing meteor powers. Question, will Lex at some point try to lock Chloe up in 33.1? (it would have to be after the wedding, though, because how would it look for Lana to not have a Maid of Honor, especially marrying a Luthor?) I heard today the Lynda Carter-aka Wonder Woman , has signed to play her mother, -it would be great if Chloe had Wonder Woman type powers- than she could go off with O. Queen and the rest of the crime fighters.

I thought the focus was on her eyes because they showed that she was frantic - you couldn't really focus on the rest of her since she wasn't really able to do anything but stay put since she was strapped down.

At least that is something I've noticed with any crazy person scene or any scene where someone is frantic - the zoom in on the eyes is usually a focus since it shows despiration.

I would applaud the writers if they're drawing on that episode and trying to advance that old unexplained event.

I like the idea that Chloe hasn't really manifested her powers yet. So we have yet to discover what they will be. That's exciting. And it's an interesting reversal. Chloe Sullivan, former madame editor of the Torch and keeper of the wall of weird (digital and hard copy) is a meteor freak.

It could be though that she's not really a freak and they'll copout somehow.

It could be that she isn't a freak. This could be just another thing to keep us speculating about her like her potential to turn out insane. That is why I think they failed to show the effect when Tobias freakvisioned her with Clark RIGHT IN FRONT. I think it really was Clark and that if they ever bring this up again, they will reshoot it as they did the explosion scene from Covenant in Gone. That one example shows that anything is possible.

If they do reveal Chloe as a freak, then I'm guessing her power will be something that would be very dangerous to Lex and could get him arrested.

oh, lana DOES have super healing abilities. I have done all the research.

here is an in-depth example:

SEASON 3

episode 8: Shattered
~this is the episode where lex starts to "go crazy." while clark and lana are trying to help lex, lana gets shoved into a horse stall and gets trampled (pause for little squee of glee.....ok, moving on) causing her leg to break in three places. she is in the hospital, fighting for her life.

Episode 9: Asylum
~in this episode, it is only a couple of weeks (tops) later. lana is just starting physical theropy (though in REAL life, it would take over a month, maybe even 2, for her leg to heal enough to even start theropy). this epsiode takes place over 3 or 4 days. by the end of the episode, she is walking amazingly, with barely a limp and just a cane helping her. I know for a FACT that it takes longer than 4 days to finish physical theropy.

Episode 10: Whisper
~in this episode, we see lana walking perfectly, as if nothing ever happened. now, lex states that he is missing 7 weeks of his life. this causes some to argue that it means lana spent 7 weeks recovering, but this is not so. that 7 weeks is including the weeks before he was in the asylum, where lex was first learning all the murder information that was so conveniently zapped out of his brain.

in all this information, the only conclusion to come to is that lana took no longer than 3 MAYBE 4 weeks to completely recover from breaking her leg in three places and almost dying. I don't know about you, but i find that freaking amazing, and the only way it could be possible is if she had some kind of super healing power.

Not to mention all the other episodes where she has been able to inexplicably hack or over ride anything technical, like a Cyborg without the metal.

There are closeups of Chloe's eyes when she's on the table and at the end, the first closeup shows her right eye looking green, the green grid during the scanning seems to stop at her right eye, and at the end Lex says ominously, "Keep an 'eye' on her". I could be wrong, but this is why I say this. Before I say this, if anyone has DVR, rewatch and let me know.

The guy dropped his glasses and Clark zoomed over to catch them. The guy could only see different colors, but not really who the person was. When Clark was in front of him, it looked like it hurt the blind guy almost. Clark went to give him his glasses back and stepped to the side while Chloe walked up. When Chloe walked up and he put on his glasses, Chloe was the person he heard in the direction he was facing.

So I think he saw something in Clark, but he thought it was Chloe. Why else wouldn't they show what he saw?

I could be wrong though.

In my book, her power is definetely technology related. I dont think 'super hacking' is an ability people, but I could see her having an ability to control technology (um Gwen Gracen-'Sky High' anyone??)

and there are two VERY big clues in this episode that point to this (not to mention COUNTLESS other examples from previous eppys):

1. Jimmy tells clark he doesnt have Chloe's 'SUPER HACKING SKILLS' when Clark hands him the computer. Thats a pretty big anvil if you ask me; not to say she can only hack into things, but she seems to get in to places, uncover passwords and government top secret files pretty dang easy...ALL THE TIME.

2. When her and Clark are trying to break into the doctors computer, Chloe complains that its harder than it looks; then tries to get Clark to tell her why she was abducted. When he does POOF! It suddenly becomes really easy for her. And look closely at her, its like she was trying to NOT hack into that computer until she saw that Clark would be OKAY if she was infected. Because if she hacked in, there could be concrete proof that she was a meteor freak on those files and she wanted to make sure Clark would be alright with her if that were true, before she showed him anything on that comp. IMO. watch the scene again, one second she is complaining about how hard it is to hack into that thing, the VERY next second she is like 'oh whata know, I got it', and the look on her face is very fishy. I myself, am putting alot of weight on this scene.

Do I think Chloe knows thats her power? I think she has a strong inkling, but doesnt know for sure. (hence when Clark asked if she displayed powers, she paused for a second before saying 'No')

I don't think this would be the case at all. Even if she has super intelligence as a result of the meteor freaks, if she doesn't have the motivation and the effort, she still wouldn't accomplish and achieve anything. The real world itself should be enough to make this point, so many intelligent but lazy people who doesn't want to use their brains, who simply end up as bums on the streets.

It's what Chloe choose to do with her powers that defines her, it's not the powers itself that makes who she is. It's like saying Superman is less of a hero because he got all these superpowers.

I agree with the superhacking/technology related ability. All this while I've been thinking how totally ridiculous it was to have Chloe so easily hacking into all these computer systems without any glitches and simply by a few clicks on the keyboard.

Not only Jimmy acknowledged Chloe's hacking abilities, we even have Clark himself saying that "maybe you could pull off a miracle" with regards to the encrypted files on the laptop.

I dont know if this been said, but here gose. In the earlyer episodes on Season 3 - Ep. 18, she was infected, and had the abuilty to make people tell the truth. At the end of it, they made her lose that power. Maby, just maby and this is what I'm thinkin, she didn't lose that power fully. Maby it's still there, but she has no idea on how to bring it back.

Who Knows. If thats not it, maby in a few years she grows wings and becomes Hawk Girl. lol

I was wondering the same thing (you beat me to it!). I can't remember what happened at the end of that episode to make her lose the ability - is it possible it could start to re-emerge?

This and the technophobe ideas are the most plausible to date for me. I can imagine her slowly dying from cancer next season and possibly helping Clark on his way to his ultimate destiny before she goes.

The girl has a habit of remembering some pretty obsure things. This would help in her hacking ability without actually BEING the hacking ability. It COULD be seen as super intuition.

3) Meteor freak detecting abilities. This would explain her affinity for the Wall of weird.

Perhaps this is what was meant in the post above, but maybe it's a general 'unlocking secrets' ability, whether it's unlocking Clark's secrets, those of the people she's reporting on, or secrets of databases/firewalls, etc. Sort of a perceptiveness to see through obfuscations (my GRE word for the day!). Or she'll just be really good at word scrambles in the Sunday paper...

Yeah, well... they don't seem to have much of a problem with stupid. Just look at last week's ep. How many times are we gonna see "Evil Clark" embarrass himself like that?

Then again, in the classic Superman comics, Clark's one true love of his life (until he met Ms. Help-me-I'm-falling) was a girl in a wheelchair, Lori Lemaris, who turned out to be a mermaid. Maybe Chloe will be this Clark's incarnation of Lori?

I Think it could be one of several Scenarios

1) False Positive. Who knows? With her exposure, injections, etc, she may just have registered false positive, like a bad pregnancy test.

If that's true, Wouldn't Lana show up too? She had Kryptonite Meds that made her see her dead parents last season.... Just a thought.

2)While sadly i don't like this scenario, it could be something Techno-related, but i hope not, with such a good arc, that would be the worst way to go.

3) She always seems to attract meteor freaks. Maybe she's just a freak magnet. AND she has a strange empathy for them...at least until they try to kill her.

4) He saw Clark, and thought it was Chloe (though clark isn't a meteor freak, so i don't know why he would show up) But i don't think it's the one either.

i think Chloe's "freak powers" might be the ability to see ghosts (like the kid in 6th sense) I think so because of the ep "Tomb"...

Chloe sullivan about half-way through this series WAS given a meteor rock-induced power which she used and embraced eagerly. The ability given to her was that anything she asked anyone, they had to answer truthfully.

Martha Kent was the closest victim of this "gift" and she almost spilled the whole truth about Clark before catching herself and just leaving. Chloe even had the gall to ask Clark Kent to his face, "So what's your secret?" Fortunately, Clark was immune to this mind-effecting ability. He seems to be immune to a lot of meteor-induced persuasion, as a lot of people with meteor induced persuasive abilities have tried.

But yes, Chloe was a willing user (once she found out what she could do) of the substance that gave her the gift.

It's still uncertain if the effects are linger, but Chloe HAS been exposed to more Kryptonite (and kryptonite freaks) than nearly anyone else on the show, including Lana.

Not to mention that the guy only ever saw Clark and Chloe out of the main cast of characters. Should he have taken his glasses off around Lana or Lex, he might have seen off-color shadings around them, too, as both of them have been exposed to large ammounts of Kryptonite as well. Lex, voluntarily. And Lana wore that necklace since she was like 5 years old.

The only reason a big deal was made out of Chloe was because she was the only one that the guy saw and pointed out to Lex. So Lex wants to keep an eye on her, subtly. If he knew that Lana was infected, too (no doubt she has trace ammounts in her somewhere), you can bet he'd be watching her, too, with care.

To set the record straight, Chloe has no meteor powers. Had some once, but that's over with. Chloe has been brilliant since before all of her wacky adventures with the "Scooby Gang" began.

And to those of you who think her super powers are hacking... get a clue. Just because YOU can't hack into the national defense agency, doesn't mean that some 8 year old kid in Korea can't. Trust me. Kids are AMAZINGLY smart these days. Chloe is no exception.

In case you missed it in Freak, it seems Chloe does have some kind of meteor powers, none of us were aware of. Otherwise she wouldn't have been pointed out.
But you do bring up yet another twist to what her abilty could be. Hacking is a long shot for sure LOL I know ! But so is your theory. With writers you never know what angle or twist to expect. In the long run, they may come up with something totally off the wall, that none of us suspect. So it really is a guessing game at this point. We will all have to wait for the answer to this question.

Lois is Chloe--with less clever dialogue. She uses more obvious analogies that people would actually know without using Wikipedia (River Stix?) but they're usually misused. She mixes metaphors a lot too.

That was a really good scene in the show. I also liked the part where she jumped out of Lois and into Chloe, and Lois reaction to the pink gown she was wearing when she came out of it LOL Great Show I was laughing all through it !

That is definately a possiblity. With Chloe retaining the power to make people tell the truth. Tobias on the other hand, from watching the show a few times closely, seems to have the power to see only people who really possess meteor powers that are active. Because in the bowling alley when he took his glasses off, the meteor infected people have a blue aura. If Chloe's power was gone, so would the blue aura, as well be gone.
Tobias is an interesting character, I'd like to see them bring him back, and if he'll still have the power after his surgery.
But I think you may be right on the money with Chloe retaining her power to make people tell her the truth.
