I have no idea what the title is or who it's by. I've done several Google searches with the lyrics I've come up with, but so far... nada. Same as with that damn country song in the first Chlark Talon scene in Hydro! Frustrates me so. :p

Here's what I got for lyrics:

Listening to the song, I'm almost 100% sure I know who the singer is. Anyone remember the band "Sneaker Pimps" from the mid-late 90s? They recorded a tune called 6 Underground; featured in "The Saint" and a few other movies. Anyway, the singer (Kelli Dayton, now recording as Kelli Ali) has an unmistakeable voice, which I'm sure is the voice in that song. Check out her stuff on iTunes and compare.. just the song itself doesn't seem to exist outside of Smallville.

And the middle line, I got:

"Imply and promise, and certify, for me"

Use iTunes or just google up Kelli Ali. She doesn't record under the name Kelli Dayton.

You can also find her on Myspace if you use it; search her up under Music on the top bar. If not either of those, search up the song "6 Underground" by the Sneaker Pimps, from 199x. It was on an album titled Becoming X, which I liked a good chunk of.

I wouldn't know, since I haven't watched the epi yet *wonders what the heck is she waiting for*.

i think that you're right, its probly a new song from an unknown (as of yet to the masses) artists thus, it cost less to include in the eps. since budget is tight because of all the spo effects in justice.

They don't usually credit the music in the episodes whenever there is a time period break like the one from Subtarranean to Hydro. If they do show Freak again, they'll probably credit the artist of the song. I think...I'm guessing...I'm hoping LOL.

I actually went to see Samantha perform last night. It's not often a song steals the scene, but this one really stood out, and when I discovered on her myspace page that she was going to be playing live at a venue here in L.A., I felt I had to go catch the show. It was just her and her guitar, but she was awesome. Pretty damn cute too ;). Anyway, I got a chance to talk to her after the show, and it turns out she's a friend of Michael Rosenbaum, and since he directed the episode, he pushed to get her song on it. She is currently unsigned, which is why some of you had a hard time trying to find her online. That should all change for her very soon, I'd imagine.

Someone made a comment earlier about her sounding a lot like Kelli Dayton, which she does at times. But she also has a little bit of Jewel in her voice as well. She even covered a Jewel song ("Don't") in her set. Anyway, for those of you in L.A. who'd like to see her live, she'll be back again at the end of the month, this time with the band.
