^^Choices 2 & 3. I also choose choice 5, and specify mythos episodes. I *loved* the mythos they introduced in season 2. The caves were the best thing that happened to this show. Swann was another great addition. The parasites in Rush were awesome to watch (I just wish they did more with them).

I guess I may like plot twist episodes also, but as long as the twist is good.

Any episode which focuses on Clark's destiny becoming Superman. I don't like dark episodes though so I didn't really dig Trespass.

Justice would be my idea of the perfect episode

Despite all of its screw-ups, I think Smallville still has almost the perfect balance of their type of episodes for six years running, so I'd say every kind of episode floats my boat :)

I guess you hate season 3 then (my 2nd favorite season very close behind season 2). Justice was a huge disappointment to me mainly because the hero of this show who we are all waiting to become Superman was made to look like a total ass on all accounts. And there really was a lack of a challenge. The good guys minus Bart (and the BDA for a very stupid reason) ran over the bad guys with no resistance. It was too easy & 1-sided. There really was no climax as there is in a comic book, which they were trying to make that episode like. As I said in the past, the 1st season of the 1997 Glen Larson show (guy who made Knight Rider), Nightman, did a great job at making a comic book hero come to life. I also think Sin City by Frank Miller was done nicely. I wish Justice were more like that.

The things I did like about Justice were the added abilities and effects of Cyborg. He was my favorite. I also liked the one part with Lex tormenting Bart. The worst thing was how they made Clark appear after they did such a good job throughout most of the season since Fallout.

Hey xrayvision, hows it going?

The main reason I loved Season 4 Epsiode 1 (Crusade) so much was because it was such a breath of fresh air from the entire third season! Also the way Lois Lane introduced herself, will never forget that! Finally got to see Clark/Kal-el fly!

I will agree with seacrystal that Smallville over past 6 years has had a perfect balance of episodes.

I do prefer the action packed and character development episodes though.

Yep, I didn't like season 3 at all. Way too dark for me

Right now this is how I rank them (with Season 6 closing in fast):

Season 4
Season 6
Season 2
Season 1
Season 5
Season 3

5.

Everything that is funny and lighthearted. Lois & Clark almost always crack me up. Chloe & Jimmy are pretty hilarious at times, too.

I also like episodes where Clark selflessly helps strangers, like Fragile and Subterranean.

I like the dark eps, and of course plot advancing stories are what it's all about. The really heavy ones need to be balanced, though, with the humorous ones ("Xena" was great at that....some really funny eps after the intense stuff).

And of course, anything allowing close-ups of AM make it worth while! She's looking hotter than ever :)

Agreed. You gotta love the R2-D2 plug-in-and-unlock-doors trick.

Anyway, I like the episodes that make this a superhero show. Good, old fashioned, superheroing. I think they've gone a little too far with the soap-opera-itude. Superheros have girls, true, but they are not the core of the show. The superheros do not fight for the sake of their girl, they fight for Justice and all that. Yes, superheros save their girls quite often, but only because their girls like getting in trouble. They would save an ugly old lady too. And the main reason superhero media should skimp on the romance, besides the fact that most superhero fans like it that way, is that there are bigger things to worry about. Who has time to worry about their girl when the world needs saving? Lana's always talking about "What could be worse than losing the one you love?"
Lots of stuff. The world being destroyed, for example. "Love", or rather romance, isn't everything, especially when it's just lust, like between Clark and Lana. Focus on what's important.
I know this is long and off-topic, but IMO they really should stop having all the date movie episodes.

Ditto. I signed up for this show for Superman, not for Lana and her band of merry stalkers.

I like that SV has a mix of episodes. My favourite types of episodes are ones that are mythos-related as long as they are Clark-centric. I also appreciate episodes that have some humour in them. Romance is great as long as it moves the plot forward.
