View Full Version : Lexana!
I assume most of you saw the tabloid headline at the very beginning.
Fansite reference? Or simple extrapolation? You decide.

I think it was a reference and it was intentional for us fans of the show to see it. I think Almiles stroll through every "once" in awhile or they have people doing that to see what the fans think.

hehe...I don't know if it's exactly a reference to this site....but who else comes up with the great shipping names??

shameless reference--shows should not refer to their own fans. not cool.

It was definitely a fansite reference. I was freaking out when I saw that headline....since when do they actually use ship names on Smallville?!?!?

Well, the media does it all the time to celebrity couples' names. Bennifer and Brangelina, anyone?

I don't see anyone crying foul for Stan Lee being in all the spiderman movies, for margot kidder having a role in smallville, or for the original lois lane being on the train in the superman movies...and i pick it as a K-Site reference, because of the awkwardness. Chlark and/or Clana seem natural, but Lexana doesn't seem so intuitive.

I thought about this site but then I thought about the hollywood names like tomkat and benniefer and all that. Whats wrong with giving the fans of the show some nod. I mean who else are they gonna give it to, people who hate the show????

I thought it was cool they had that although I don't exactly see it being a nod to the site. It would be cool if TPTB come out and say it was or include that in the season 6 DVD when it comes out in fall.

Guess they must be reading our opinions/ratings on shows, storylines, etc too

I smiled when I saw Lexana as a headline.
My ego says Lexana was a reference to KryptonSite.
My superego says be considerate of ships that I don't prefer, namely Chimmy.
My id wants vengeance for the sinking of the Chlark ship.

not a reference at all. Its what they do with all celebrity couples. I chalk this one up to coincidence. If i see a Clois or Clana reference, then maybe ill start to beleive

When was the last time you picked up a newspaper relationship article that combined two people's first names? Think about it, it's not a normal thing to do unless you talk about it a lot -- say, on a forum.

they made the lexana SUPER large print to make sure we could see it :)
i honestly think they do stop by to see our reactions and what we want to see on the show so they just gave us some acknowledgement. i thought it was cute and VERY shocking. smallville suddenly felt so much more personal

I immediately thought of K-Site when I saw that Headline. How cool that they would acknowledge the fans in such a way!
