No, Lana is the Meteor Freak. I think she must have been near a whole bunch of rubber bands when one of the meteor storms hit and now she can bounce off walls, stairs without breaking anything and recover from all these brain bouncings with no after effects

This has got to be a Krypton baby. Clark may lose his powers sometimes but that doesn't stop him from having alien blood. Lex may be marrying Lana, but Clark is her babies daddy!

Al and Miles would just look stupid if they let the baby or thing or whatever you wanna call it live. No baby can live after Lana fell down the stairs, bumped into the stuff running through the hospital, fighting Brady, being chocked by Brady, and last of all falling through the window in the roof. But if it's a "special" baby (which is really suggested when the doctor mentions that it's not a 'typical' pregnancy), then that might give explanation as to why the baby's survived all this time.

I agree though, it's pretty ridiculous to have all this stuff done to Lana but nothing's wrong with the baby.

And plus, the most she gets is a scratch on her head.
Which leads me to believe that whatever Lex has done to her with the experimentation of this baby or whatnot -- well, it's led me to believe that Lana has suffered some side effects, too. I know it's a show about Clark, but they haven't showed Lana with any morning sickness and she barely got a scratch this episode.

It's definitely weird, that's for sure.

I think this is a Growing Pains situation. Lana will have the baby at the end of this year, and by season 7, it will be a precocious 6 yr old. It's a pretty common ratings stunt for old shows, not to mention weddings.

In this episode, the doctor from Smallville Medical said the baby was fine. He's not a doctor being paid by Lex so... I wonder why he didn't find any abnormality. Maybe it's not something that would show from a routine exam. Then again, why would the doctor do a routine exam on a pregnant woman who fell down a flight of stairs.

But I think this makes it clear that Lana is pregnant. It's not just some drug to make her think she's pregant. The pregnancy is not fake.

As far as the baby being a freak... I'm going to say... Yes.

Yeah....maybe not a meteor freak. But maybe thats what the research that Lex did on 33.1 is for. Make a drug or some kind of augment that makes the baby invincible. Like a earth-born Kryptonian baby.

But maybe this sheds more light on what the doctor said in "Crimson". "This is not a typical pregnancy", or something like that.

I was so surprised that LANA survived that fall down the stairs (remember Thirst, when she broke her neck and only lived because she was a vampire?) that I didn't even remember about the baby until it was mentioned in the scene in the hospital.

If you'll recall the Season 5 episode "Fragile," the baby could easily be a second generation meteor freak (since theoretically Lex does have some meteor rock induced "abilities," like the ability to fight off disease due to his high white blood cell count). I'm sure they'll address all the implications of drugging or experimentation that Lex might've done but I'm just suggesting that this is another possible scenario.

It's not an ordinary pregnancy,we all know that after Lex talked to "doctor" the other week.

She's still not suspect anything about this baby is beyond me.She did her jogging for the all mount,was under alot of stress,fell rudely down the stairs,fell throught glass and the baby is fine!!!

I think I would at least,start to beleive there's something wrong about the baby if I were her but,it's just me ;)

Do you remember the 20th episoden of Smallville season 4? It called: "Ageless" Lana and Clark found a baby and it growed up very fast. And Lex said Clark at the end that Evan doesn't died without giving us help for other people. (information) Clark believed him but to the doctor Lex said that he would tell the world when he thinks it's right/when Lex have enought. I hope you can understand my words because I am from germany.
Maybe Lanas baby have something like Evan. I cannot believe that Lana is a Freak but we all know Lex and I am sure he had done something with Lana's baby and that he planned it a long time before Lana was pregnant! The same doctor, Lana's fall down.... there is something wrong. A mother can fall down the stairs without loosing the baby. (I asked a doctor) But why said the doc that they are on time? On time for what? Maybe the doctor took the baby out of Lana he gaved her something to sleep! No matter what Lex's plan is - I know it cannot be a good thing!!!! Clark will help Lana - he alway does!!!!
