obviously whitesnake songs mean a great deal to lois maybe she assosiates that with good times in her life. so when she found out that the mix cd was a white snake one she knew she fell head over heels for clark, and suddenly it wasn't such a joke for clark anymore.

Yes, I really think that is pointing to future relationships with the two of them. Just IMHO

I noticed that too. I agree, I think she just realized how hard she fell for Clark and it wasn't so funny anymore, for either of them. I just hope the rest of the season isn't all awkward moments between them. I enjoy the Lois and Clark banter and don't want to see it disapper!

The akward moments are hints of what is to come down the line. With anyone liking someone, before they do go out, they start off as friends so when they do start having feelings fro each other, sure its akward. These are nice touches between Lois and Clark and cant wait to see what is to come of them on "Smallville."

I think she would not have done White Snakes songs and given it to then if she did not think alot about them. If she did not think they were worth it. So I thought it was cool.

Clark does enjoy laughing at lois, even internally, whenever she is completely clueless, like tonight or the time that she had told him she had been to heaven.

i think that Lois was thinking that with the Whitesnake CD, even though she was on some potion that maybe somewhere in there it wasn't all the drug.
imo it was the first real moment on the show towards the future iconic union.

I didn't see this thread and just posted something similiar, but I loved the ending scene with Clark and Lois.
When she says she must have really liked him, they both stop and look at each other a little more seriously.
I didn't think they'd make them both acknowledge feelings for one another this soon. So I hope they get together soon.

I don't think we'll actually see the two of them together yet. At least I hope not. Little hints that they feel something more for each other are good, but its too early for an all out relationship.

maybe her parents listened to whitesnake before he mom died or something. who knows, its obviously personal for her because she didnt explain WHY it was a big deal.

That last scene between them was the first time since "Gone" where I felt an honest, mutual attraction between Lois and Clark.
If this show does decide to do romantic Clois, I hope they decide to do it as them falling mutually. I don't think anything else would work, IMO

I think that slowly they will be building this relationship. Everything that has been built up to this points to more. It will be gradual, like it has been since Lois came to SV but it will come in some form before this show ends. I doubt full blown romance, there probably will not be time, but I honestly never thought they would/could go this far with their relationship. Obviously the restrictions are lifted where Lois is concerned, so anything can happen it seems. Whatever they do, it better be handled well.

i thought it was pure chemistry, it came off as a look of realization to me because they finally take the other seriously and actually consider the other's presence

I thought it was a very meaningful look, sort of a seeing each other for the first time "hm, can it be???" look. They had very well balanced scenes in this episode. Comedy/Drama. Loved it!

Very good acting by both of them to convey so much in "just looks".
Clark started out thinking he could tease Lois with the CD and get back to their friendly bickering banter that he is comfortable with. He wasn't expecting how vulnerable she would get when she saw the CD and the significance was not lost on him.
Clark may be the only one that "remembers" what happened but Lois "knows" her heart and has an idea of what "could" have happened.
IMO, there will be some awkwardness but TPTB will now ratchet up the "tension" between them later.

It was a great scene, loved it. And I agree completely on Lois' vulnerability in that scene.
As much as Clois seems a little early, I'd love for it to be part of why Clark stops loving Lana.

Agreed...CLOIS does seem early but maybe not with regards to his feelings.
They can have HIM have deeper feelings towards Lois that are deeper then he ever had with Lana. Oh no Cloisana!!!!! They'd would do that too wouldnt' they ?

Eh, I don't think it will be the beginning of SV!Clark and Lois per se.
You know, at first I thought this epsiode was just another 'blah. throw another shipper group a bone' episode. When it came to the lofe scene, however, my mind soon changed.
I do still think Clark and Lana is going to be resolved and the series will end with Clark liking Lois more and more.

Like Jimmy said, Clark just noticed that Lois is a girl.
Before this, she was annoying and probably still is but he didn't look at her as woman to be interested in, now he does. However, noticing Lois is still a far jump from Clois. He's still in love with Lana.

The loft scene btw. the two helped say so much and made it all seem worth while.
I could even swallow the Clana as result of it if it helps push the story ahead which actually felt like happened last night...the story did move forward a bit.

Good points. The writers really showed us that with the Valentine's Day dance and then later Clark getting to experience Lois Lane in love....while at the same time he's still in love with Lana.
In the end, Clark might be remembering his kiss with Lana, but he won't be able to forget so easily his frolic with Lois Lane. The end scene with the CD was done so well!

That last look made the episode for me. Just when you think, she's going to react defensively and be embarrassed by the mix CD, Lois surprises Clark and the viewers by reacting with sincerity and with a touch of wistfulness. I loved how Clark's expression instantly changed from teasing to contemplative.
Once again Lois Lane turns Clark's world upside down, inside out. This instance reminded me of why Superman of all incarnations is so infatuated with Lois Lane. Even though he can have almost any woman in the world, why Lois? Because no woman can surprise him and keep him on his toes like Lois can.

True that. I had actually expected her to downplay the significance of the Whitesnake stuff, with some of her usual sarcastic comment. She really took me by surprise when she said the "I must have really liked you" line.

Depends, despite her flaunted and vaunted hotness, lois has been ready to shed her clothes and give the better part of herself to Oliver and Clark to be rejected by both in just a few weeks. Not very impressive for a character continually exposing T&A for the kids.
Clark just whispered in Chloe's ear that he thinks about her and them, something he has never done with lois, for obvious reasons.

Your trying to make Lois look like such a bad chracter and aren't getting the facts right. She was under the influence od RED!K and only did that for Clark once, which happen tonight, and she was under the influence of RED!K or a love potion or whatever.
And as for Oliver, they where together for quite sometime an NEVER had sex or even close to it as said by Lois in the episode where they broke up which was Justice, I believe.
He whispered to Chloe that he has considered a relationship with her only after things weren't working out with Lana and that is completely different from saying that you rhink about someone. That was a diss right there.

My thoughts exactly!! Some people on this site keep talking about how insane it would be for Clark to fall for this Lois with the way she is written, but out of the three girls, she is the most unpredictable and challenging. Chlark conversations and Clana conversations pretty much follow the same patterns and thought processes over and over again.
Lois is the only one who consistently says and does things that Clark couldn't have predicted. It's probably refreshing that his conversations with her don't revolve around his secret or what he may be hiding. Clark definitely needs a good friend like Chloe to carry the burden of his secret, but there's still a lot less challenge, mystery, and predictability in the Chlark friendship than the Clois. And Clana...sure, that relationship has been challenging, but not because Lana's personality is fascinating, challenging and unpredictable--only because of the circumstances surrounding their relationship.
Sooner or later, he's gonna go for the girl who keeps him on his toes in a challenging, fun, and exciting way rather than an angst-ridden way--hopefully.
I also liked how Lois, in this episode, even under the influence of the RedK, kept stopping Clark from kissing her to make sure it was for real--that he actually liked her and that it was meaningful to him, not just a romp. Her "I finally found someone normal" and her making the CD show that even under the influence and wearing trampy clothes, she was still looking for a real relationship--not just a roll in the hay. Clark got to see another side of her that only Oliver had seen up until then.
Thus, underneath the RedK and the trampy clothes was the beginnings of the iconic Lois, and I think she showed herself fully for a second in that last look they exchanged.

roll, roll, roll in the hay! That reminds me of Young Frankenstein...lol oh what a great movie!

I thought the last look btwn Clois definitely hinted at the beginning--the first diagetic moment--of Clois as the future of this show.
I don't think it's going to happen any time soon (not this season, mebbe not even next) but for the first time, you could see the possibility of Clois staring at both of them in their faces.
A quiet prequel, nicely done.

Yer i agree I think Lois knew she must've really fell in love with Clark, and he realised it wasnt such a joke anymore. Maybe with a bit of luck Lois's feelings stayed with her a bit :D. And now Clark knows thier must be some serious feelings hidden away for her to without realising it.

See, now... It's moments like that in which I just LIVE for a television series.
I don't know if anybody understands the significance of the White Snake compilation Lois made for Clark, but as someone who has just recently made one for a girl he likes (but who doesn't know it--I don't think), let me assure you that when you put together a tape or a CD of the best stuff you have, the music that moves and inspires you, the songs that touch you to your very soul... What that does is it puts who you are at your very being out there for the other person to see. It's a very real and a very sincere gesture. Of course, some people just make CDs just to make CDs of the latest craze or the most recent pop hit.
Being that it was a compilation of White Snake power balads, we know that it's not the latest and greatest. We know that it's not a whim. Lois put a lot of thought into that compilation and I'd be willing to bet she poured her very soul out while making it, carefully selecting every song.
Now Lois sobers up and doesn't remember anything, and is suddenly presented with a CD that she hand-illustrated the cover herself, wrote "TO: CLARK" on the front of it, and on the back a listing of all the songs on the CD. A lot of time and effort went into this, it's easy to see.
But's what's most important to note is the song selection, when she flips it over and reads them, it becomes painfully real to Lois, you can see it on her face right as she flips it over.
Lois realizes that while under the influence, she must have seen something in Clark that moved her to the very core of her being, something real and powerful that she just, for the life of her can't remember. And now that she's sober, it's kind of scary that Clark doesn't realize what a precious gem he had been hanging onto that was a window into Lois' very soul.
And when Lois reveals that it must have been very serious, only then does Clark realize the honest to God weight of the gift Lois had given him and the depth and reality of Lois' feelings.
I love that for both of them it quit being funny and got real very quick. That was a powerful moment right there, people. I LIVE for those moments in shows.

That would definitely be cool to hear that music--perhaps toward the end of the series (and I don't want to even think about it ending), if they could get permission to use it....
That last look was definitely great. I would give anything to know what their characters were both supposed to be thinking. I know we've all speculated, and there was clearly depth and significance to their thoughts about each other that hadn't been there ever before, but it would be nice to know from Tom and Erica's points of view as to what they themselves were going for or trying to portray with that look.

Totally! It helped me forgive a lot of what I consider inadequacies in the SR Clois. I nearly swoon at that tune every time. :D
I definitely think it would be unforgettable on SV but I don't know if tptb would ever use it since Mark Snow has been coming up w/their own Kryptonian themes, Superman themes, Smallville themes, etc. He does a great job for sure but I'm a John Williams fan for life!
I guess we can hope for more Clois on SV period since that last look btwn them kind of hinted at some kind of a beginning.
p.s. Tomsgurl88, have you ever seen the crossover clois vid on youtube that plays "can you read my mind?" it's great. :D

I know...i LOVE that scene in SR with Clois...the music is just so beautiful in it...it would be PERFECT if towards the end of the series during a nice clois moment if they played the theme:) but i gotta see that youtube video...do you have the link?

Yeah they shared a very serious look, seemed like they are realizing somethings going on there between the two of them.

Well put! I agree, Lois and her interaction with Clark is refreshing.

Unfortunately, Chloe gets screwed, once again...
Not so much if Chloe gets a comforting break up scene, since all Lois got was Jimmy of all people trying to get her out and about.
I'm still a little made about that. Where was my Chlois comfort scene people?!
I don't think romantic Clois will ever be realised until, like Alfred Gough said, Clark is wearing the cape which is after SMALLVILLE ends. So no, but I think it makes sense to have something there before then.
Clark wasn't amused when Lois said the Fortress looked like heaven, unless there was something funny about him being sincerely happy that she was okay and holding her hand, and he was no longer amused when he realised that taking the time to select songs from a band that is of some kind of emotional importance to Lois and giving them to him, wether she was jumped up on Red K love potion or not, said a great deal about the depth of her feelings on the matter.
There was actually a lot of 'saying things without saying them' in this episode and I give kudos to the actors and the director for having so much 'speech' in mere shared looks and body language.
I agree with ninety percent of the thread here. It was a genuine moment shared between them and had more potency than a mountain of foreshadowing anvils.

lol and i'm not kidding...i hum the freakin theme ALL the time...can't get it out my head!!! lol i'm also happy they used it in Superman Returns too!!:)
I like that a lot, I think it's actually my favorite piece of the John William's score. The Superman Returns version was my favorite because it sounded better than the original and there was no cheesy voice over.
psst *I was humming it the other day at work* ;)

Maybe if Lois is in some life threatening situation and Clark saves her that might change her feelings towards him

I think Lois had something for Clark before Crimson, but kept it buried & hidden because he was either with Lana or pining for Lana. I think that's why she decided to go out with Oliver. I think Oliver was her replacement for Clark before she knew how seriously she liked Clark. I say this because Lois replied "I hate that you know me like that" after Clark called her "a pitbull on a pantleg" in Hydro. I think she knew she wanted to try hooking up with him some day & she knew Clark could use that knowledge of her against her.
I can't think of any other reason she would hate that he knows that about her.
