Jump, no question.

super jump, undeniably. There was nothing "flight" about it. It was way too similar to the Reckoning jump to be flight. They would differentiate flight far more than that.

Uh.....he jumped up in the air, then came back down. The dude refuses to go back to the FOS and continue his training. Until then, he won't be able to fly.

Everything was pointing to flight in that scene until the writers forced Lois to say "leaps buildings in a single bound"... The only upsetting thing about it is that the spoilers hinted at flight. But yet again spoilers are not always 100% acurate.

yet another cheap way out of their "no flights. no tights" policy.

bravo AlMiles...bravo...

Super Jump. But he might as well been flying for the amount of hang time he had on that leap. That might be as close as any of the female characters will get on SV as a fight with Clark.

I have been playing the "flight" scene over and over to study it.
I almost go for the actual flight because of the sound effects, it sounds almost like what you hear in the movies/animation.
I fell for it in Rekoning, so I am wary to commit.

Superjump, obviously...
And Lois didn't seem very impressed, IMO.

Are you referring to Superman Returns? If so, how did they rip that off from there?

I'd say cross between jump and flight. It seemed pretty graceful.

Kalel x2x2
02-03-2007, 08:16 PM
I thought it was way to smooth of a landing to be a jump, IMO, I think he 'levitated' or 'floated' back down to earth... by his own will power not being brought down by gravity

Shadowlord367

Theres no reason it wasn't flight. Crusade and Hidden's flight had more effects, and was more prolonged and dramatic because he was leaping great bounds and a great vertical distance.

This version of flight may have looked more like a float, because he was going a shorter horizontal distance. Its more like the Superman: The Movie flight with Lois.

Jump. Remeber in the beginning of 4, when he was Kal-El (I dont' remember why, not sure if it was Red K, but hopefully somebody will enlighten me) u could see the special affects of the ground and the air beneath him changing before he shot into the air.

Can someone answer me this: If it was a superJUMP how come he didn't come down on a crash landing?, why was his landing so slow, smooth and nonchalant? What made him slow down before drifting so calmly back down to Earth?

Like in "Rekconing", this will be debated to death unless AMiles steps forward and makes a statement one way or another.
No one will be able to say for sure, either way it is a judgement call, just choose to believe what you wish and move on :)

Super Jump no doubt.

Hedgeman
02-04-2007, 11:27 AM
it was a good jump and close to flying. although he would have to have slowed his descent for such a smooth landing especially with a mere mortal in his arms, no??

definitely superjump

hey..does Clark know he will be able to fly one day?

Super jump for sure.

Kalel x2x2, why would he come crashing down.

He jumped mostly horizontally, not vertically. If he took off 3000 feet in the air, and then came straight down, i'd say he'd make a definate crash. Leaping horizontally, and only rising say even a few hundred feet, is not going to cause him to hit the ground at hundreds of miles and hour, and smash through the building or anything.

Also, where does everyone get this, he floated down stuff. I just don't see it. Then again, I suppose everyone is going to see what they want to in the scene, regardless.

Exactly, that is why I say it was neither, not a Superjump, nor was it flying.

As Lois described it, was a leap.

Yes, I know some will say that was just a nod at the 50's classic "The Adventures of Superman".

But the onscreen quote says "Leap tall buildings with a single bound".
So does that not make it canon?

Leap and Jump seem pretty much like the same thing. Flying for me is going up and staying there for a bit. imo this was a jump from one balcony to another.
