He was great as always.
oh wait I have to watch it first.
time to go, talk later
Makes out with not one, but two girls, reveals his secret to Lois, crashes an engagement party, and then nearly kills Lex.
Ohh, Clark was definitely topnotch with the Red K vibe going on.

All of Kal's comments at the party pwned everyone he directed them to...if that makes sense. :D

I have to have the decending opinion on this one. While Dark Clark had his no holds barred attitude...he has been a lot more bad in the past.
He made out with Lois (which actually started before he even became Dark Clark), showed her he could jump long distances (not a huge deal considering she lost all memories of everything that happened to her in this episode...come on how many cases of selective amnesia can this show have), and voiced his opinions regarding the Lex/Lana situation...which everybody already knew anyway.
Don't get me wrong...it was a decent episode, but not really too much different than the other red kryptonite episodes.

The first half of the episode, he sucked (who wants to see red-k Romeo?). In the 2nd half, he rocked the way he told it like it was.

^^ I have to disagree with the FIRST half of RED-K,, WHO DOESNT like HOT, SEXY, FORCEFULL LOIS come on to Clark like that and he returned it all BACk to her.. NICE...the fact that Clark OWNED OLIVER by saying "ID LIKE TO SEE HIM DO THAT" was Pimp status.... the only thing I didnt like about him being on RED K was that he dissed Lois and Chloe out.. but the whole time he was on RED-K, it was too great to end.. wish it didnt

^^Well, for shipper fans, I guess it would be good. I wanted something more. I wanted him to start screwing Lex's life in ways he would never do without red-k (like messing with his plans and learning upcoming things, which he would act on in the next few episodes (it would be a good build up to those episodes). And then to crash Lex's party. Those 2 combined would have done it for me. I think that showing him get it on with Lois while under red-k was a waste since it meant nothing for the time being. Lois isn't supposed to have a thing for Clark, especially not before finding out he's Superman, which doesn't happen for a long time (right before they get married).

I agree. Though, what I found amusing was the look that Clark gave Lana when she yelled "You're gonna kill him" about Lex in the barn. I couldn't help but laugh and think of the Rock, when Clark turned to Lana and did that eyebrow thingy.

I loved everything about Clark's punishment delivering until Lex assumed he got the better of Clark.
Now it'll be awkward for Lex to see Clark the the next episode after Lex assumes he deeply stabbed him :(
Still Red K. Clark kicked so much butt that I wished he was in half the season

He was a jerk, nothing new...
SpeedDemon77
02-02-2007, 04:44 AM
I don't think he was being a jerk. He was being honest for a change about how he felt....and about everyone who he really feels betrayed by.
First of all...Martha. If my mom went to an engagement party for a girl that she knew I was still in love with and engaged to someone else, let alone a guy that both she and I knew was a slithering snake, I'd have a hard time getting past that one too. Yeah, he was right. Martha's more Luthor than Kent now. Jonathan wouldn't have attended that party...even as a Senator. He would have graciously declined while letting Lex know in no uncertain terms, "You know very well why I WON'T attend."
Next up, (let's take them in the same order RedK Clark did) Chloe. While I understand that she was bound to be there for her pal Lana's sake, you have to wonder about her ulterior motives in everything she's done pro Lana/Lex lately. She KNOWS how underhanded Lex is. She turned a blind eye and deaf ear to it when she KNEW that Lana was getting involved with Lex. What kind of friend is that? One who wants her gal pal's ex-boyfriend and to be the center of his universe. That's what kind. Which is why it won't happen. She's got her heart in the wrong place with that one.
And then Lana. Red CK tells her like it is....and she hates it because it makes her doubt her own convictions and reasons for marrying Lex. He's nothing but a rebound....and a really BAD choice for one. She's flip-flopped all over the place. Love Lex one episode....not trusting him the next....loving him and Clark the next....to not trusting Lex again. What was there to trust in the first place? She had serious issues with Lex the start of Season 5 to the point where she wouldn't even speak to him. Now she's engaged to him and thinks he suddenly, in his ripe older age, turned over a new leaf? Well, she IS the girl who still hasn't figured out Clark's secret after 6 years, but then again if Alicia hadn't shown Chloe, she wouldn't have been any closer to it now either. At least this time around Lana has the destroyed chisel and Lex tried to impale Clark with as some kind of proof that he's not your average Kansas farmboy.
Oh, and Lex.....good ole Lex. It's about to come down on him and ROUGH! He's doing something sneaky with Lana's baby....and if he's only planning on taking it from her to make her believe she miscarried, then the blue nursery was purely a stroke of evil genius. She won't be quick to suspect that Lex is up to no good with her unborn child because he seems to be anticipating it so much by having the nursery done and all. What a real MB. Lionel's going to find out that he's got NOTHING on this guy. And thank goodness! GONE IS THE WOOBIE OF OLD!!!!! FINALLY!!!!!
Also with Lois. Red Clark was right. She may be his future....but Lana is his past AND present. He's not, nor will he be Superman on this show. Everyone get that right. Please!

Screw The Justice League, Red K Clark needs his own spinoff. It would just be him hooking up with hot chicks, calling people out, and throwing them acroos the room for an hour. I'd watch that.

I'm sorry but I don't think that's entirely true. In Season 5 ep 18 Chloe tried to warn Lex away from Lana but both Lex and Lana told her to back off. I remember Lana telling Chloe off for that so I think Chloe did back off.
How was Red K Clark? I think he was horrible. Maybe he has those issues that he aired at the party on his mind, but that's not really the way to go about getting them off his chest. He wasn't exactly great to Lois either, dumping her half-way through the episode for, let me guess, oh could it be Lana? This is not a Clark I like at all.

Well, I'm sorry, too...but I do think it's entirely true. When it's come to Lana's involvement with Lex, Chloe, for one who usually doesn't mince her words, has been wishy-washy at best. To each his own, however. We just have to disagree on that.

That's the whole point of Clark reacting the way he does on Red K. No inhibitions....meaning that he WON'T air his issues the way someone would if they were acting diplomatically. As for when he finally dumped Lois, they weren't really sparking any chemistry, so IMO, he could have done it sooner. But he goes for what he wants at the moment....and once he saw Lex and Lana's invitation, I knew it was all over for Lois from that point on. I don't think this side of Clark is meant to be liked....but at least he's honest with everyone else and himself while he's in that mode. A lot of blatantly honest people are disliked because, face it....sometimes the truth hurts.

As usual, Red K Kal was a pompous ass and an idiot. Couldn't stand him in previous episodes and I still despise him. I was glad to see his mother point out to him that Red K Kal is the same as the real Clark, only without the self-control, discipline, and maturity (as little as there is) that accompanies Clark Kent. Thankfully, it appears that the Kryptonian simpleton is beginning to see how he treats people (ie: Chloe in his back pocket, etc..), even though he tries to give himself a free pass by saying it is all due to the influence of Red K.
I was also glad to hear Martha tell him that he needs to leave Lana alone. Just before she said that, Clark sounded like good ole' Red K Kal by saying "I can't let Lana marry Lex." Major clue CK, she gets to make her own chose about who she marries. You don't dictate to people who they marrying. As far as who Lana marries or what happens to her, I don't care.
Kal (for short) was a raving lunatic at the party as the only thing he accomplished was a regurgitation of his own misguided feelings:
1. Accusing his mother of being more Luthor than Kent. What an ass! What has Martha done that has made her more of a Luthor? She has feelings for Lionel but has she entered into an affair with him or has she voted for legislation endorsed by the Luthors? Nothing has been presented in Smallville to indicate that. Instead, Martha has supported him and loved him as a single parent as she always has.
2. Taunting Chloe about her feelings for him and then talking out of the other side of his mouth about how he's thought about having a relationship with her. In other words, she dam*ed if she does and dam*ed if she doesn't.
3. I have nothing to say about his treatment of Lana since I don't care about what happens to her.
As much as I don't root for the bad guys (Lex and Lionel), I think it would be great for Lex to press charges against Kal (now back to being Clark) and have him stand trial. Maybe Clark would end up in Belle Reve since his defense could be that he has a split personality. Time to grow up, Clarkie. Speaking whatever comes to your mind is not being 'real', its being an immature jerk. I lived through the stupidity of the 60's when that mindless belief was popular.

I was so surprised, because from the trailers I thought it was going to be gag me with a spoon time.
But Red K Clark spoke the TRUTH to Lexana, and in a strange way that helps lead him to Superman, whose motto after all starts with Truth even before Justice. Smallville Clark can't be truthful because of the absolute need to maintain the secret: the real issue for the end of the series should be how to convince Lex that Clark and Superman are distinct beings.
He'd be better if he didn't want to marry Lana, but overall, he was a lot better than I expected.

I think what he said at the party was completely right. He was totally right about Martha and how she is interested in the man whom Jonathan, her own dead husband, hated more than anyone else. It's a lot like Lana being with Lex. He had a horrible year last year and never blew off that steam until Crimson.
He was also right about what he said about Lana's reasons for being with Lex and how she was Lex's trophy and how Lex wanted everything Clark had (as Lex himself said verbatim in Vessel).
I also don't disagree with the way he treated Lois. At times, she had been a total ass to him and her comments had gotten very annoying (though I think she has improved). Had she remembered the way he treated her, it could have made her be more humble/nice to him in the future as the traditional Lois is.
And Lex truly deserved an ass-kicking. I'm surprised at how Kal being uninhibited and thinking more clearly didn't put things together and announce that Lex was the one who blackmailed Simone into breaking him & Lana up (was obvious since she wanted Clark to kill Lex and they stopped by at the mansion when they could have easily left--Hypnotic).

Okay, I am going to have to bite the bullet on this one! I have never liked and never will like Clark while under the influence of RedK! There is a huge undercurrent of cruelty, vainness and utter selfishness that eminates from him. His lashing out only hurts and humiliates. Any grain of truth is distorted and certainly not constructive. Nothing good ever ever comes from these episodes of Red K influence. When Martha brought him back the pain of his realizing what he had done again was heart breaking. There are times when Clark should have been more truthful and assertive
with the way he handled certain situations, but RedK is so wrong on so many levels!!

I thought that 2nd half of the episode when he crashed the party was the best part. The 1st part of the episode added nothing to the storyline and was a waste (no progress). It was just a bone they threw to some shippers to keep them happy. When I saw him bust through the doors and start talking his mind, my heart started racing in suspense of the consequences of what he was saying. If the entire episode would have been him doing stuff like this to Lex and hurting him, I think it would have deserved a 10/10 rating.
The 2nd half of the episode was what really started progressing the storyline. This is what will finally end the secrets & lies we have been hearing about since the end of Heat (that Talon scene is where it all started). It jump started Lex's other motives and Lana's awakening is finally happening. I wish they would have done away with the "I love you" crap, as that is older than most of the skeletons in Lex's closet.
Clark was total ownage. He showed up the Green Arrow. He crashed the engagement party. He exposed Lana and Lex's pending parenthood to all their friends. Put the bad mouth on his mom and his best friend Chloe. Beat up Lex. Dumped Lois. Kidnapped Lana. Called Lana a trophy. And told Lex he wished he had never saved him. The only thing he didn't do was rub Shelby's nose in poop. Clark was a complete meanie.

We need Kal back to finish off his mission and rub Shelby's nose in poop. Nah, just kidding. I would want to see him trash Luthorcorp though.
It would have rocked like no tomorrow if he even took Lana to that room that Lex created for his Clark obsession and said "Look, even your fiance wants me" just to really get the ball rolling on what Lex is really about.

He always acts like a silly childish jerk. If that kind of assinine behavior is Clark's true personality when he's lost his inhibitions, then Clark is almost as screwed up in the head as Lex. Still, it's always funny to watch him, since you never know what he'll do next.

He seemed a little more agressive to me this time around.
Though I don't think he was hurting Lana or taking her anywhere she didn't want to go, I wouldn't enjoy being treated that way.
Usually he's a little mouthy and flirts with everyone.. he seemed mainly angry this episode.
