its going pretty good for a love story episode. however clark seems to be not as angry as he was other times he was on red k.

I loved that scene at the dinner and lex and clark and clark telling everyone off. that was great.

Not the best episode ever, but worth it for the Clois scenes and the last scenes with Lex (not your typical pregnancy - 33.1 experiment anyone?) and Lana (squee for Lana finally getting close to the secret!)

I was expecting more from the promos.
The Lois & Clark conversation in the loft was good as well as the Martha talk.
The rest of the episode felt like a filler.
There is aother Zoner roaming around, and Jor-el is getting tired of twiddling his thumbs by now.

I'm giving 'Crimson' a solid 8. There were a few moments that I didn't like, and I probably would have rated this a 7 or so until they showed Lex's secret conversation. Very interesting!

Really good episode. Clark crashing the engagement party was the best part. My only complaint was the lack of Lionel and the ambiguity surronding Lana's pregnancy.

For me, the past four episodes (I believe) have been top-notch.
I didn't really like the beginning of this season so much, but after it came back from that minor-hiatus, I've been loving it.

I gave this one a 9, just because it made me gasp and cry out at the TV like no other episode this season!

Good episode becuade it cleared stuff up between characters...Lana/CK/Lex,
CK/Ma Kent
Chloe/Jimmy
CK/Chloe

and I didnt like it because it had too much Clana that is not over!

It seems like Clana will be around next episode too. I hope they eventually (this season) fast forward to Lana having her baby and then dying after her pregnancy thus defining Lex as a true villain.

I give this 7/10

You Lana haters have waited for that since the show began but is not going to happen as she is a main character as opposed to Chloe and Lionel who are not...

But is becoming obvious the baby is not Lexx which means it can only be Zod's!

As for the Lexxana thing is obvious that that too is coming to a close now... Clark whether in Red Kryptonite mode or not is a good judge of character and he was right about Lexx only seeing Lana as a throphie along with her baby as the ending clearly showed...

BTW: I do not recall Red Kryptonite affecting humans though...

THis by far had to have been the NICEST show ever... LOIS looked ASTONSHING and WOW... RED K let CLARK tell everyone what was really on his mind.. the only bad thing was CRY BABY JIMMY Olson Getting OWNED by Lois... who does that?? what guy gets soooo jealous and CRIES in front of your girl WTF?????

I gave it an 8. It was okay, not up to the level of Justice or Labyrinth though...

Some highlights that really put some light on how great our actors are.

1. The Chimmy break-up was so good! So many people had tears in their eyes this episode.

2. KK did a great job...

3. Lois and Clark = total hilarity.

I really liked this episode, give it an 8/10. The Lois and Clark stuff was really funny and I enjoyed all the foreshadowing! And I am so happy that Lana is beginning to find out. Of course, she doesn't know everything yet, but at least she is finally on the right track. And the Lex/Doc conversation. What has he done to Lana???

The second half of this season is really picking up, IMO. I can't wait to see whats next:D

I liked this episode only because of two scenes....Clark crashing the engagement party and the ending with Lex. I gave the episode an 8. It was great fun for me to watch, and I'm sure that I haven't laughed as much at a Smallville epie as I did with this one. The down side was some of the plot points they stuck in that didn't quite make sense, but other than that I loved it. Clark crashing the party was definitely one of the best scenes, and now I'm wondering what Lex is up to. Very curious now.

8: Loved it.
Imo: this season has been better than the rest, so far.
Loved clois action, Ed and TW had great chemistry, chimmy break-up was so heart breaking, even though we all knew it was coming. Finally Lana knowing something about clarks secret. the baby twist. Lex and clark action {if i knew what you would become i wouldn't have saved you.} Just great writing . and somehow they gave every ship some hope.

The episode was alright to me. Not as good as I thought it would be. I know the Cloisers were in heaven tonight lolz. The Clois in the episode was good. Thought it was a bit cheesy at some points but good. The whole crash the party and diss everybody was the best scene. It took a lot but I watched the Clexana action and managed to only throw my empty water bottle at the screen. So that's good. I'm glad that Lana is finally learning the secret. Took them bastids long enough to get to it. The Chimmy at the end was heartbreaking. I really felt for Jimmy in that scene. I was glad that Martha told Clark to leave Lana alone but we all know that won't happen and I wished that Lionel was in the episode. Can't wait to see whats goin on with the freak spawn.

I gave it a 8 ..... really good episode. I cringed though when Clark was dishing out the dirt, even if it was deserved except for Chloe. However, Clark throwing the baby rattle at Lex.....priceless. also, i kept thinking about Lana being pregnant when Clark was kissing her. the Lois and Clark interaction was great.

It actually made me smile.

Especially when the perfume lady said that Clark and Lois may have more of a future than you think.

Oh, and it's Clark's baby from when they did it.

Alien sperm just takes...longer to create babies.

I totally expected Lana to miscarry too. All the scenes were there. Clark grabbing her arm, her grabbing his back when he was choking Lex, and when she ran down the stairs in the barn.

Although I have to say I always love to watch Kal :D, this episode was truly a disappointment to me.

To see a paring that has been legend in the comics for over 60 years turned into a "I like you only 'cause I'm on drugs" thing.. it doesn't work for me at all.

Sadly this episode just made me even more sad about the way Lois Lane is portrayed in Smallville, I mean really!!!! They tell her that there is meteor rocks in the lipstick and she still buys it?? Please!!!!!!!

I don't know if the writers of Smallville are going to do another light switch on us, but, I'm sooooo disappointed!!!!!!

Be well and take care.

02-01-2007, 09:59 PM
The "flying" scene was wonderful! What didn't make sense is that Lana didn't deny that she still was in love with Clark, when he asked her in front of Lex. How did she get that mangled tool anyway? I just watched it again and it had been left on the floor of the barn. Weird! I loved the Clois parts and as others have mentioned, it did start off really fun to watch, but seemed to get worse, though there were some excellent scenes here and there. I gave it 8 out 10.

Wow, this episode reminded me whey I watch Smallville.

IMHO I think this ep. was a definite step up from the Green Arrow arc. Yeah it was cool to see a few stones thrown toward the comic, but this show does revolve around Clark.

I think the acting was top notch, lately it seemed like they were just trying to get through the episodes...

The Lois & Clark references were great, Clark spewing his feelings and thoughts at the engagement dinner was...satisfying.

 Clark was red-faced and kinda hysterical when he SCREAMED at Lex that he hadn't given them his gift yet. I wasn't expecting that kind of intensity, so he scared me a bit. He was 'Kal' like he was when Chloe went to see him at his apartment in Metropolis. Pretty Angry. When Clark attacked Lex in the barn, I thought he was really acting out his anger violently. He was scary...to say the least. Clark on Red-K ...Whoa!
Unpredictable and loosed animal. Oooooh...Scary!

I loved the first half of this epi, but the last half was so bad it was just silly. Please, I am so sick of this love-soap-opera crap.

When Lois, Jimmy, Chloe or even Oliver is in charge of a scene or a story, it's so superman-good. But this whole drama-Lana crap!

Just tell her already! What is the hold up? If we're lucky we've got one season left, what's so wrong with have Lana know the truth and having her and Clark get over each other. THAT should be considered part of Clark's progression into superman at this stage.

Oh a happier note, the Jimmy, Lois, Clark stuff was great. I totally loved it, I just wish Clark would tell Lana the truth already so he can get over her and start to move on and begin to fall for the real legendary love of his life.

Didnt like it for the Clana aspect. Im now crossing over to the anti-Clana group. In the past I didnt mind it too much because Clark and Lana were supposed to have a relationship. But to bring in Lois and break her heart and make her look like a pathetic loser who was dumped by Clark. Dude, she should have remembered what he did, so in the future she will have further reason to not think of Clark romantically.

Edit: Thinking about how Clark ran away from Lois as fast as he could. LOL. hahahaha. That was funny. It was like a scene from a cartoon.   :rotfl:

I agree with your observations, except that unlike several of you, I didn't think the last half of this episode was bad. At this point, I hate the Clana thing, too, but I hope and feel that all of these experiences will help Clark see his path clearer and Finally gets the understanding that it's part of his past, not his future. Baby steps, I guess. Even in RL it takes some people longer than others to get over an unfortunate relationship when they believed they were 'in love'. He's focused on Lana since he first thought girls were a great thing. We all see it as a fixation. So, typical for Clark, he doesn't take anything lightly. Yet, he's backing off slowly, reluctantly.

I, too, was wondering how Lana had gotten that bent tool Lex tried to skewer Clark with. I figured she must've gone back to the barn when no one was around later that night. Although, I can't see Lex allowing her to get out of his sight. Especially since she must've gone through some type of medical exam. to see if she was OK after her abduction. Questions abound. :\ Overall, I Loved everything about "Crimson".

I give it an 8, which is a little more then it deserves, but TW was completely on fire tonight, acting wise and hotness wise, so it probably knocked the overall ratings up a point. :p

I really liked the Clois, especially their NON Red K scenes, and I think thats saying a lot for me. Its actually the first time since "Gone" that I felt a true, mutual, genuine attraction to each other.

I don't care if its wrong, I loved Red K Clark going off at the party, and then him giving Lexana the hard truth on just what they're relationship is all about. Lana=trophy, Lex=consolation prize. Testify RedK Clark, Testify!!

AA was good, though I don't care for the Chimmy at all. Its just not a good fit for me.

And Yes to a super leap, and not flying. :D

I give a 9. I enjoyed the Clois until he noticed the invitation.

Lex was pretty evil in this towards Clark, and Lana seemed simply upset. Lex came with the gun to kill Clark, no doubt about that and when that didn't work, he tried to kill him another way. Lana should have been alot more than just upset with Lex IMO.

And what exactly did Lex do in regards to the pregnancy?

Also I thought the superpowers would be slightly more revealing for Lana. I was disappointed in that, oh well.

A real mixed bag of an episode. RedKClark making a scene at the engagement dinner was the best thing about it, of course. Lex and Lana took it on the chin rather satisfyingly for their pretensions. It was a little strange, though, that Clark missed pointing out that Martha was dating not only a Luthor, but a double murderer. I had really dreaded what he would say to Chloe, but it turned out to be not that bad. So she was dancing on the Clana grave -- which one of us isn't? Besides, the way he delivered the "not that I haven't thought about it" line was a bit of a come on.

Not all the Clois interaction was as well done, though. The purely humorous material at the beginning, with Lois acting off the wall and Clark completely befuddled, was fun. Clark trying to explain to Chloe about it was funnier still. RedKClark and Lois fell oddly flat, though. It was short, it was dull, and I failed to see any chemistry. I thought I was going to be offended by the thought of one of the most beloved epic romances in popular culture starting out with the two of them macking on drugs, but in the end, I just didn't care either way about it. The superjump had some of the worst special effects I've seen yet in the series, too, and it took me right out of the moment.

Lana was quite the manipulator. The scene with Chloe was quite something. Lana essentially admits that she had to make up with Chloe because she has no other friends left. That was even funnier than the Clark-Lois stuff. Then she offers "understanding" -- she'll knock it off about the Clark secret if Chloe will just admit there is one. Oh, eff off, woman. Then there is the scene with Lex, where he's outfitted the nursery and wants to announce the pregnancy at the engagement dinner. But Lana is embarrassed to be pregnant and puts Lex off, claiming that she doesn't want to take the focus off their love. Gag me.

I liked the Chlimmy breakup scene, and not just because they're too treacly by half and I want it to be over. Jimmy's probably wrong that Chloe would hate him if he did the same thing as Clark under similar circumstances, but he obviously is on to something anyway. She misses a beat -- quite a few beats -- when he asks her whether she wouldn't be with Clark instead of him if she could. Jimmy's teary eyes are a bit overdone, but what happens here seems pretty realistic, much more so than Lex's spineless behavior a couple of episodes ago over Lana's flat-out confession of still loving Clark.

The absolute worst scene has to be the one at the end between Martha and Clark. This episode becomes frustrating because a lot of time is devoted to misbehavior by RedKClark, but almost nothing is expended on the fallout. Chloe's not mad at Clark, and neither is Martha. Lex and Lana aren't even filing charges, I guess. Martha simply gives him a lecture on expressing his feelings more. This is completely and utterly stupid, because it doesn't matter whether he's bottling his feelings or not -- Red K will still make him act like a fool. It's not as if he's in his right mind and repressed his feelings until they boiled over. This is a drug, Martha. I also hated the fakey line, "So you're saying I want to kiss Lois and keep Chloe in my back pocket, while still in love with Lana?" For cripesakes, who talks like that? All that is is a writer's room conversation placed verbatim into the screenplay. The only points I can give here is for Martha telling Clark to leave Lana alone. He won't, of course, but at least someone said it.

Finally, there is one thing that I just know is going to bother me. Lex couldn't have delivered a blow hard enough to crumple that chisel, no matter how impervious an object he hit. I know they're going show that chisel again, probably multiple times, and it's going to bug me every time I see it.

I've been watching this show since season 1 and I can honestly say that this episode is one of the best episodes the show ever had.

Definitely on my top 3 favourite episodes list.
Clark told everyone how it is: Martha and Lionel is messed up, Lex wanting to be like Clark (have a loving family, loving girlfriend, etc.) and Clark telling him "If I knew what you would become. I would have never saved you on that bridge (or he said something like that)."
Clois, Clana, Chlark all in one episode, Lex getting his ass kicked and getting humiliated, Lana coming so close to finding out the secret.

^ All of this made this episode one of the most memorable episodes of the show without a doubt.

10/10

As for the entire chisel thing, keep in mind this isn't a show where things are suposed to be realistic. Who knows, maybe Clark grabbed hold of the chisel after he got hit with it and kind of crunched it up a bit due to his strenth? :\

RedK just makes Clark put his feelings above everyone elses, rather than the other way around, but he does NOT lose control.

Crazy4Smallville’s Weekly Review 6:14 Crimson

I loved and I hated this episode at the same times. Which parts didn’t make me spit out my coffee or choke on my cookie, had me tearing my napkin in shreds. It was great and horrible at the same time.

I have to start with the Valentine’s theme. Its a few weeks early, but why not go ahead and remind everyone that it is coming up. Having Jimmy trying to set up Lois and Clark was priceless. It was perhaps the best scene in the whole episode. The way he maneuvered it, you saw what was coming a mile away, but I had a smile on my face the whole time. I even loved Chloe’s surprised look, but she handled it with style and grace. However, the look on Lois and Clark’s face - priceless. Then, of course, he had to go off and be a boob about it.

I’m thinking that the lady behind the love potion wasn’t your everyday herbalist, but more or less of the phantom kind. She knew a little too much about Clark for it to be so random. This person knew the Red-K effect, as well as the Green-K counter effect. While some will probably speculate that Lois was affected by Red-K, but I tend to think that our Phantom freak slipped her a little potion of another sort that caused her infatuation with Clark – knowing it would lead to Clark’s infection with Red-K. But, if that’s the case, what was the Phantom Freak after?

The Lois/Clark moments were hilarious. The tattoo, the leaping tall buildings in a single bound, the outing of Oliver, the almost couch romp, the stalking by Lois, the White-heart CD, the sleazy Lois outfits, the repeated ‘future’ implications… perfect!!! I enjoyed every little morsel they dropped. Kal-El seemed to act on those feelings that Clark tries to deny and keep suppressed.

I loved everything that Kal-El said to EVERYBODY. It was all stuff that has needed to be said for a long time. Will anyone listen to it? Who knows? You know it’s got to be eating Lex up, because I’m sure it’s what Lex thinks about more often than not. But, the part that I loved/hated was his remarks to Chloe. Does Clark resent her? He’s clearly attracted to her, he clearly trusts her and he clearly is her friend – however, when his inhibitions are lowered he is either ravishing her or putting her down. If I were Chloe, I’d be having one serious talk with Clark and I couldn’t give up. I’d treat it like a story I was working on – going after it like a rabid dog until I got the answers I was looking for.

Chloe/Jimmy – Poor Jimmy. It hard to watch the one you love, love someone else. However, he should be confident enough to know that Chloe also loves him. I HATE that Chloe once again got stomped on. She doesn’t get the guy… ever - even her own guy, because of Clark.

Also, why does she keep putting up with Lana’s abuse? Lana has never been a good friend of Chloe. She’s been judgmental and abusive to her since they first met. Yet, Chloe keeps putting up with her, why? I understood it at the beginning, because she knew how Clark felt about her. Why now? Lana is just using Chloe because she’s got nobody else and because she knows that Chloe knows Clark’s secret and she’s hoping she can get it out of Chloe.

I hated that Jimmy broke up with Chloe because of his insecurities. Once again, Chloe is the one left out in the rain. While Lois has a new flavor every month, Lana has them fighting over her, Chloe loses the only one she’s ever really had. I thought it was blondes that had more fun? Not in Smallville.

What was up with Mrs. Kent? Why was she at the engagement party? She’s not friends with Lex or Lana? She’s friends with Lionel, who wasn’t even there. Senator Kent wouldn’t want to be seen with Lex Luthor. Yet, there she sat knowing it would be something her son wouldn’t be comfortable with. If I were Clark, I’d of been questioning her motives too.

I loved the reference to Lana being the past, Lois being the future and Clark stating that he was in the present.

Now, for what I HATED in this episode.

I’m SICK, SICK, SICK, SICK of Clark’s obsession with Lana. It isn’t love, its outright obsession. Obsession is blinded to the consequences of affection. This story line is sooooo old and sooooo worn out. I’m tired of it. It really, really makes me want to quit watching this show. It degrades my hero and makes him Wimpman instead of Superman. It’s like he takes a few steps forward to become the hero he’s meant to be, but then when it comes to Lana he takes one of those super giant leaps backwards. Don’t’ TPTB know that it’s this sick obsession that’s killing the show??? Are they going to shove this CRAP down our throats every stinking year?

Also, what did Lex do to deserve Lana? She makes him go from being a Supervillian to Wimpy lap dog. Who needs Kryptonite when you’ve got Lana Lang? I know they needed to give her SOMETHING to do on the show, because she lost her usefulness by season 2, but this is getting a little ridiculous.

TPTB are making this whole show about Lana Lang, not Clark Kent. She’s becoming the catalyst in the rift between hero and villain – making everything about the woman between them. How can Clark save the world when he’s too busy obsessing over Lana? I thought she was the past? Why won’t they leave her in the past? Why can’t Clark move on? I’m sick to death of it. It ruined the whole night for me and left a really bad taste in my mouth. It hurts when your hero is made into the dumbest, weakest sucker in the world. It even hurt to see my villain as a boy toy, instead of the badass he’s supposed to be. Come on – would anyone really believe that Lex Luthor would just stand there and let some man walk out with his fiancé and not say or do anything? This isn’t Whitney, who I think would have tried to stop Clark; this is LEX LUTHOR. He reminded me tonight of the Hackman-Luthor, which I hate, instead of the Rosenbaum-Luthor that I’ve fallen in love with.

So, as you can see – this episode had some really, really good points and some really, really bad ones. It seems that Clark wasn’t the only one affected by the Red and Green K, but we all were.

Till next time,

I think that, slowly we are seeing what Les is really up to with Lana, this is not about love it seems, but about something else, much more sinister...

I did not like at the end when Lana is asking lex if he would have used the gun and he tells her that he would go crazy if Lana slipped through his fingers. SCARY. ABUSIVE Lana does not have any friends-her maid of honor is someone who hates her fiance, but she had no one else to ask. Clark points out that she knows no one at her engagement party. She can't leave the mansion with out Lex knowing exactly what she is doing. Chloe tries to point out she is being 'kept' which angers her.. RUN KATIE RUN !!!!! Oh, I am sorry, Run, Lana Run, he is going to run your entire life-wait he is.

I also hate when the characters forget the good stuff-why did Lois forget EVERYTHING? Okay, if she had to forget the flying, couldn't she remember the kisses or I wish Clark would remember the kisses between the two.

Clark does remember everything. He doesn't forget after the effects of the Red K wear off. I liked the episode. I loved the comedy, the dramatic stuff at the dinner was good(Clark really got a lot off of his chest). The end scene with Lex and Doctor shows that Lex is really already at his evil self. He might not be showing it to the world, but he is here. Lana with the screwdriver is great as well, although I wish that Lex had been knocked unconcious and Clark had been shot with Lana seeing that he wasn't hurt.
The only flaw I had with the show is that since Clark already showed Lois his abilities, I assumed that they Supersped to the Mansion, thus how did he get back to the barn with Lana, you think Red-K Clark would have shown her something.

I just can't stand to see Lex become such a wuss around Lana. I liked the first scene when he was generally happy about making decisions about the nursery. Then he finds out his pregnant fiancee is kissing her old boyfriend and he just sweeps it under the rug like OK whatever I pull a gun on him and you kissing him....that makes us even???

What is becoming more and more obvious to me is that Lana IS just a trophy....to BOTH Lex and Clark. Clark's "love" for Lana in the last few episodes is just proving to be to an obsession he just can't move past. This is what the real problem is for him. Not that he is still in love with her imho.
He can't have a pregnant Lana marrying Lex? What is the real issue here. Clark really needs to listen to his mother's advise. His behavior concerning this whole Clexana crap is just so un Superman like.
I had to call Clark a few bad names after he treated Lois so $hitty at the end of the party crash scene. I felt badly of course for Chloe and Martha, however they understood that he was probally on Red K even if it was terrible of him to say the things he did. But his treatment of Lois after she tells him (rightfully so we all know) that she is his future was horrible. I was cursing the BDA, yelling at my TV screen! At least Lois and Clark flying, (yes, I said flying. Let's leave it alone shall we) made up for the other parts. I really did enjoy this episode.

This episode has offically taken over my #1 overall episode. I loved how they ended up at Ollies place, I totally thought he was going to walk in and see them. Clark going crazy at the dinner was amazing aswell. He totally surprised Chloe by exploding on her, and his mom... hahahah I was laughing during the whole scene I loved it so much! I love watching Clark on Red K.

The end was also amazing! Lexana scene in the bedroom when she asked if he was really going to shoot Clark, I think she is starting to learn how Lex really is....

I wonder what this is going to do to Clark/Chloe relationship

Going in I didn't have any expectations for this episode. As a fervent geek boy I was psyched for "Justice" and "Labrynth" (sp) but this one I just couldn't get excited for. So I sat down in total darkness (the only way I like to watch my shows) and waited to see what happened.

Holy Crap!!! This was a good, if not great, episode. REDK Clark--loved the rage! Lex--his rage was good too. But Clark...Tom was really good without being over the top. He sure can pull off evil.

Lex and the Baby! WTF!!! I kept screaming "No Way! You bastard!" over and over till my wife came up to worry what was wrong with me.

And Lana and the (what I like to call) shive...what will it all mean.

I was expecting just a filler episode but it really opened up some interesting storylines for the rest of the season. Will Lana find out? Will or did Chloe keep the secret? Will we ever see Jimmy again?

Oh, Smallville I love you!!!

There are some parts of it that were questionable, but overall I thought it was an interesting episode and if nothing else I am intrigued to see what is going to happen in the future. This is the first time I have even been remotely interested in the baby storyline. I actually liked the party scene, it was good to hear Clark say all those things, although I kind of wish he hadn't made such a fool out of himself. I had thought that he was going to act with Lois the way he did with Alicia, so I was glad that they didn't make him all lovesick over Lois, mostly seemed like he just wanted to get into her pants...I like that they are going to make him slowly develop feelings for her...right now he just has an initial spark of attraction, not deep love. Since Clark seems to love so deeply, it should take more than one kiss for him to jump from one girl to the next. Which unfortunately means to me that we have not seen the last of Clana. I'm not against Clana friendship, but this baby thing just makes any romantic Clana wrong, wrong, wrong in my book. I don't even mind if they pine for each other, but any acting on those feelings while she is preggers and engaged is not OK, in my opinion. I'm not thrilled that he went that far on Red K either, but I'll get over it, as long as it doesn't happen while he's not drugged. I was happy with Lana's reaction to Chloe knowing Clark's secret, and keeping that tool thing. I like that they are going to reveal Clark's secret to Lana over an arc instead of an anvil. I really liked the talk Martha had with Clark. She kind of explained Clark's behavior, which didn't make it OK but at least made it understandable. And she told him to leave Lana alone, which is the right thing for him to be doing. He has made his points and if she is going to marry Lex anyway then that's her decision and he needs to just leave her alone.

I gave the epi 8 points. It's not my favorite, but I thought it did a good job of advancing the stories and there were some great moments in it.

I gave this an 8. It was nowhere near as good as Labryinth, but far above the bane that was Justice or the first half of this season. I readily admit I got sick of the "Lois & Clark references" and wondered aloud what this show would do if it had to pay homage to any more predecessors(sp). The other issue I had with it was with Martha being at the dinner. Was she there at Lionel's request? If so, where was he? If she was there at Lex's request, insert argument above. If she was there at Lana's request...well there is no justifiable reason for that. The most likely scenario seems to be Lex's request, but I'm sure Clark has told her of his goings on...wait she seems to be too busy to worry about him, the farm or anything she was responsible for the first 5 seasons. Talk about political corruption. Anyway, it was nice to see consistency in keeping Oliver's apartment a part of Metropolis. Most likely a not so subtle hint, he'll be back.

The main question I have I know doesn't belong here dealing with this specific episode, but overall. One of the premises of this show has been creating the hatred between Lex and Clark. I always thought the "great rivalry and hatred" was between Superman and Lex. I mean why would a billiionaire have a rivalry and hatred with a newspaper reporter? That doesn't make sense to me. I know completely random, but when you see how far the Clark/Lex relationship has changed from Lex's first wedding to now, it made me wonder about that.

Among the very BEST ( w Fallout, Arrow, and to a lesser degree Justice, Sneeze, and Labrinyth ) of this season...SDK and company are doing their darndest to repair the mess Goular created the latter portion of last season, and with a few missteps (ie Whither, Subterranean, and STATIC ) and quite frankly one of the top 7-8 in the series, period. Real fans of Superman were THRILLED when they saw this for sure!!!!!! Can't wait to see who wins the tug of war over how the season ends up now. It has the chance to be the BEST season EVER by far like last year pre Cyborg or CRAP the BED like S5 inevitably did!!

I agree, season 5 wasn't exactly the "best" season. It's my least favourite. I'm really glad that this season is A LOT better than last year's. Season 5, after the first half hour of the 100th episode and on, became kinda dumb. They tried a bit too hard to make it all epic-like.
This season is my third favourite (2nd and 4th are my first and second favourites ).

two words F'n Sweet!

I thought it was great that clark ran around unloading both barrells on everyone. It was great, He made everyone think about their past actions and decisions, and to some extent his own. He called everyone out and the ensueing chaos was great.

Lois was amazing tonight, she was funny and smug in a way that only lois can be.
"us together is like choclate and halibut"
" no really, i do dig the whole farmboy thing"
While i was never really a big fan of lana i do have to say it was nice seeing her character doing and saying somethings that were actually believeable. Finding out that her baby is gonna be a "christmas critters celebration" was pretty fun too. Though i do hope she is smart enough to see Lex for what he really is and is able to escape somewhat unscathed. I do hope that she does end up paying for her bad decisons and generally cr@ppy treating of people.

Lastly i though it was a good that in the begining Chloe was telling clark "not to worry, you will oneday get over lana it will just take some time" being the best friend with sagelike advice again for clark. Though i did think the jimmy break up was a little "junior highish" i think it would be sweet if clark and chloe get together for a little while before he boards the lois ship.

lots of other really good stuff i am probably forgeting about too but the only thing missing that would have made the dinner scene even better would have been lional there.

I gave it a 1, it was extremely disappointing. It was the same old thing just on a different Thursday night. The episode lacked creativity and originality, Clark is going nowhere fast.
It is sad to see this character on rewind every week.

I have agree with a lot of the others; given Lex's past reactions to threats to his girlfriend/wife of the season, why didn't he at least file charges or send out his own private Gestapo? Red K or not, Clark committed several crimes against a very powerful and influential man who doesn't forget or forgive.

On the other hand, it does become personal when it's between Lex and Clark, so maybe Lex just wanted to deal with him personally.

Where the chisel is concerned, I think what we're beginning to see, based on this episode, the trailer for the next episode, and the spoiler for "Freak" put out by the CW is a three episode arc of Lana finally learning Clark's secret (for real this time).

Unfortunately what this probably also means is that the writers don't know whether or not the show will return next season and they're trying to wrap up as many loose ends as possible.

Thinking about it, I really felt bad for Lex and Lana in this episode. Lex wasn't really doing anything but being an expectant daddy, and a loving (and protective) fiancee. That was supposed to be their special night, and Clark ruined it completely. How many of us wouldn't have reacted the way Lex did if someone had crashed our engagement party and kidnapped our fiancee? I'd be thinking the wood chisel or gun looked pretty good, and the Police would definitely have been involved. The truth is that Lex showed a tremendous amount of restraint where Clark was concerned.

I liked the Clark/Lois flying scene (jumping, flying, call it what you want but they were in the air, and if Clark had wanted to he could have stayed there, end of story).

The best approach to a new episode is to expect the worst. I have disliked RedK episodes and dreaded this one. Determined to watch it despite my misgivings, I found I really enjoyed it. The way the entire cast was involved and had their moments made the ensemble episode worth watching.

From the time I realized the Clark-Lana-Lex relationship was based on Helen of Troy and two men falling apart over the love of a woman, I was deeply bothered by it. To have the Lex and Clark friendship end over Lana almost made the Clark Room look good as a reason instead. The Clana was botched from the start and to revisit it over and over, followed by Lexana which I never could believe a saavy, world wise Lex would fall prey to, resurrected yet again by Clark and Lana still admitting they have unresolved feelings for each other makes me wonder what possible, plausible reason can be manufactured to destroy the residual "love" and replace with with a strong, platonic friendship? "Somebody save me" from this perpetual yo-yo.

Yet having said all that in a run-on sentence that inflicts the same pain as Clana has for me, I enjoyed the episode which only reinforces the likelihood TPTB will continue the angst.

I loved the flying scene. I loved the Clark-Lois dynamic in light of what we all know their future will hold. Delighted in the party crashing scene, even though I wondered where Lex got all the people he invited to attend...a few gaps in the seating arrangement would have been illustrative. Hated to see Jimmy/Chloe split. I've truly enjoyed seeing those two together. Hopefully Chlark won't be attempted as much as I would like for it to work. Couldn't stand to see what happened with Clana. Loved Martha and Clark talking. Martha looked good in her mom role which we've missed lately.

The mystery surrounding the baby is an interesting one. I had wondered when she found out about her pregnancy if it somehow might prove to be Clark's, possibly Zod's, or a scam by Lex to "encourage" a yes to marriage. How they handle that hot potato will likely make or break this season.

What they may not be able to do, even if there is a seventh season, is make Clark the noble hero he is supposed to be. He has been so tarnished, dumbed down, and wimpified from what I knew from the comics that I don't expect much from him anymore. The Justice League members seem to be setting an example for him to follow instead of the other way around. Truth, honesty, and morality seem to be set aside when they should be the hallmark of this hero. While I can enjoy the show for what it is I cannot help but feel sad for what I thought it might have been. Still the writing seems to be much better this year and more in line with the first three seasons I so enjoyed.

Hopefully they will keep up the good work.

I just don't see why all the characters have to end up isolated and sad. Lex, perhaps, but not everyone else. In fact, everyone besides Lex should find joy and happiness which would contrast Lex's situation and make it more poignant. I realize they want to be realistic and avoid a fairy tale ending, but there is plenty of reality out there for those who enjoy wallowing in miasma. This story deserves a happy ending for the "good" guys.

I gave it a solid 9.
The scene at the engagement party was done really well. Why is everyone upset with the Chlark scene, he admitted that he had thought about it. The thing that got me was how no one stood up or tried to help when Clark threw Lex and grabbed Lana, at least have them stand up and try to do something.
If Clark was that into Alicia with Red K, he should have been really in to Lois, I knew she was hot, but those knee high boots and those legs, I give that a 10. Don't get me wrong Lana is gorgeous, but a little too skinny. To quote a friend "nobody but a dog wants a bone."
The whole baby situation, I hope Lana finds out that it is Zod's and will be evil so she aborts it, or something to that matter will be a nice way for Lex to lose it, since the only person he thought he could trust rips what's left of his heart out.

I must admit, as a HUGE fan of Smallville, at the beginning of this season, I was wondering if Smallville was running out of fresh steam. The beginning of the season was weak and didn't look too promising, but the last few episodes have REALLY picked up and this season is starting to turn out some WONDERFUL episodes.

it seem like it just took awhile for the writters to get back in to the swing of things, but now that we are heavy into thr season, the show is back to TOP NOTCH!

I wanna say, THANK YOU to the powers behind Smallville. THANK YOU for giving us a show that is STILL doing well and still provided quality entertainment.

Last nights episode was AWESOME! It was full of action and story to keep the story moving. I LOVED the chemistry last night between Clark and Lex, I think their relationship has FINALLY reached the point of no return, no hope of restoring friendships. THIS is what we've been waiting for, and the transition from being such good friends to number one enimies has been BRILLIANT! I loved the pace here.

I Do wish we could entertain Clark and Chloie, even for just a short while. Poor girl is SO in love with him, I'm saddened to see her hurt everytime Clark talks about Lana.

Not bad....not bad at all. Of course it's no 10, but RedK always makes things fun.

The Good
~Jimmy- I love this guy. I can go either way with his relationship with Chloe, so I wasn't totally distraught over the breakup. Still I'm glad they brought him in for a little bit this season. (PS- the bow-tie move was amazing)
~Lex- man he's nuts. On minute he's asking between the dinosaur and Mr. Duck...next he's whipping out a gun...then he's making shady conversation with the doctor. I love all the sides that we get with him. It's making the decent into evil more realistic.
~Lois & Clark- I was pleasently surprised with this. It was silly and sexy and there was a lot of funny conversations with them. It's enough of a glimpse into the future without jumping the gun with their relationship (side note- I loved the smile TW had that got bigger and bigger when Lois was asking if they did it.

The bad
~Clana *vomits up spleen* I'm over it...you're over it....that guy down the street is over it. Yes there are feelings that won't just poof away...but this obsessions stuff is pure nonsense.

The amazing
~RedK Clark!!! I forgot how much fun RedK can be. Darker clothes...people getting chucked around....and some of the best lines in the show. That scene at the party was amazing!

Overall not bad at all...I give it an 8

I don't know about this one. Right now I'm just kind of meh. I've been kind of on the fence about all the episodes since we came back from hiatus, actually.

Some parts I like, some parts I hate. I liked most of the Clois stuff, liked the truths that were told to people who deserved it at the party and in the Clexana barn scene, but I didn't like the visual of a forced Kal/Lana kiss (or kidnapping, or choking the life out of Lex). How Lana discovered part of Clark's secret was very anti-climatic. What the hell was Martha doing there, why would Chloe be okay with any of this enough to attend Lex's party given what she knows about Lex after Justice, and where was Lionel?

I think this is an episode that I'm not going to settle on until some of the things that are going on right now are resolved. If they're not resolved to my satisfaction, I'll probably end up not liking this episode in retrospect. Can't give a numerical rating on this one.

I liked this episode, for many reasons, mainly because it has so many ingredients never seen before on this show.

Fisrt, Redk. I mean, it felt like it was the first time they are using this plot device, and like those writers are well-deserving their overpaid salary to come up with new ideas. And Redk lipstick, even better !!! Everyone knows kryptonite is just lying around for every hyppie to find, especially when it's love potion season.

What I'm really glad, about though, is that once his inhibitions are removed, we find that Clark Kent is a pervert who wants to get laid with the first chick he sees. In a violent way, of course. I mean, stripping him of his inhibitions could only mean that he shyly admits he find Lois interesting, because she is so strongheaded and smart. But why bother doing that, when we can watch a character who is the embodiement of good go for her breast instead ?

I mean, having Lois acting out of character because she puts on Redk lipstick is just brilliant, as much as kryptonite gatorade, and nevermind if kryptonite is radioactive ! What I can't believe is Pete, Chloe, Jonathan, Lana and Martha all came in contact with Redk and never had a behavior change ! The way they made that fit with continuity is astounding, it almost makes me sad to just be a teacher and educating the future of America, because let's face it, they deserve more money for the quality of their writing and I deserve less.

And what about Lex performance ? I mean, I'd rather be watching him throwing parties and fighting with Lana, than having him AGAIN in a boring scene with Lionel doing one of this lame episode where we learn more about their troubled relationship or Lex frequent child traumatism, just like in those letdown episodes "Memoria" and "Shattered". Next episode, they could sit next to a warm firecamp telling sacry sotries while Lex is massaging her shoulders and Lana is unsure about her baby and Clark.

Plus, they did a good job at hiding Clarks secret from Lex. There is no way he can ever find out !!! He passed the goons in the mansion, pushed Lex into a glass table, grabbed his gun at incredible speed, pushed him through a wall, strangled him with incredible strenght, and still Lex has no clues, and thus despite his genius intellect !!! I think Lana knows something though, you know, with that camera shot at the end, that subtlety states that she is onto something. Only took her six years, that's slower than ICLois, but still, kudos, she is smarter than Lex, and after all, she should be.

And Clana is back, full force ! I just can't get tired of it after 6 years of trying to get it through my skull ! Really, I don't puke as much anymore !! And for those who aren't happy about "Clana angst", well at least this episode, her angst was directed at Chloe. I mean, that's what friends do, not holding a grudge against you if you tell them what they want to know. Blackmail happens alot in my circle of friends.

And talk about old 'ship coming back, Jimmy dumped Chloe, and she hesitated when he asked if she still had feelings for Clark ! Yes ! Just like season one ! I was so mad after she said she moved on, I mean, she can't, she has to be in love with him forever and ever, that's such good drama, and realistic too !

And the anvils about Clark and Lois, I just can't get enough of them. When Chloe said they weren't made for each other, it's funny, because relly in the future they will be, so it's subtle and never done before. And Jimmy said they had chemistry, it must be true, becasue you know, he is the same age than Clark, knows him already without glasses and seems to have no bonds whatsoever with CK. TW and ED don't seem to have that much chemistry, but if Jimmy says it, then I guess i just have to accept it.

I'm a bit of a writer too, and I think I'll borrow one idea from Smallville : Mindwiping. I mean, you can basically do whatever you want, like pairing two iconic character who shouldn't be just to drop more anvils and show us something they will never show again in the course of a well, slowly developped feeling brought through a careful writing because in Smallville, we like eveything contrived and rushed. Lightswitch, you're my friend. And who cares why they haven't explained her memory loss, as long as it gives us funny scenes with no coherence, and a new way for Clark to reveal his powers without any consequences ?

So in a word, RedK, Clana, Chlark, Mindwipe, FOTW, Character Behavior change, Secret and lies and Teen Angst wins a 5 stars out of five for a show that still feels like it uses the same stuff than in season one, minus Jonathan and Pete !

I give this episode a solid 8. One of the better Red Kryptonite episodes, if not the best. I loved the Clois, hated the Clana. Seemed like the kiss was forced on Lana behalf. Jimmy is shaping up to becoming a superb character. I loved the Clois hookup he did. I also was amazed at the flying scene. The landing was near-perfect! I also was amused at the tension between Lois and Clark, near the end. The ending with Lex was very dramatic.

Overall, Crimson was a great episode. Hope we someday get to see more of Kal and Red K, but without the vomiting of Clana involved.

First post on the forum, so forgive me if I don't adhere to community culture right away.

Personally, I'm a fan of Red Kryptonite episodes, moreso when there's a logical or character driven reason for why Clark comes in contact with it; Pete slipping him some, a voluntary choice at the end of Season 2, or Alicia giving him the necklace are good examples of putting Red Kryptonite to use in the name of character development.

As a plot device, the random encounter with the class ring and now the lipstick are convenient plot pushers to give us the opportunity to see Clark bully his way through life. As an intro to Red K's effect on Clark, I'll buy the class ring, but lipstick? Valentine's Day notwithstanding, it's a bit cheesy.

That having been said, I like that the writers focused this use of Red K on the matters of Clark's heart. Needing Chloe's hero worship, growing a pair to do something about Lana, and discovering Lois, all addressed in one episode.

The leap with Lois was a nice tip of the hat to the classic image of Superman taking Lois for a ride over Metropolis. I figure that the writers decided to land at Olivers for no other reason than that the set is already built and since Oliver won't be seen until a few episodes later, there's no sense in building another rooftop set.

I'm getting a little tired of the convenient mindwipe the characters have after committing heinous acts or being shown what Clark is capable of. Naturally, you can't have Lois know jack about Clark's skills until much much later, likely in a timeline after Smallville goes off the air. But as a plot device, it's growing a little tiresome.

I dig Lana finally getting a goddamned clue. What I'm surprised at is that Lex didn't notice that the chisel was bent and/or that Lana is keeping it hidden from him (for now).

Regarding the end note with the doctor and pregnancy... It's a semi-foregone conclusion that this baby won't make it. Lana's going to miscarry, bank on that. As far as what nefarious designs Lex has on his heir, I have a few theories:

1) It's been mentioned that the effects of kryptonite are responsible for Lex's shiny dome and his increased white blood cell count. After everything that's happened with the infected population, it's reasonable to speculate Lex's doctor is up to something to make sure that the baby is born absolutely immune to meteor rocks. It would be very much in Lex's nature to not tell Lana so she doesn't worry about it.

2) The exact opposite. Lex's doctor is doing SOMETHING with meteor rocks and Lana's pregnancy treatment to make a perfect human being. Secrecy for the same reason.

Either way, Lex is trying to do something he sees as good in a way everyone else sees as twisted. Should be fun to see where this goes.

Chloe and Jimmy... Truthfully, I never liked the idea of Jimmy being part of the Smallville continuity, outside of Chloe's passing mention of who she lost her virginity to. I did like the idea of Jimmy being pissed off at Chloe for worshipping Clark, but I would have held off on the break-up for a later episode, all in the name of some added tension from here until then.

Clark going off in at the dinner party was a little uneven. Firstly, I resepct the fact that the cast can't appear in EVERY episode (except for Tom Welling, though that would be an interesting idea to build an episode around), but this scene NEEDED Lionel Luthor around.

1) It would have justified Martha's presence that much more. Even if Lionel's not on the best of terms with his son to point of not being invited, going as Martha's guest or finding a reason to be there, would have really spiced up the proceedings (especially when Clark reads his own mother the riot act).

2) Had Clark gone off on Lionel, the suspense would have been off the richter scale! I mean, yes, Chloe knows what's up and knows about Red K, so there's little likelihood she'd have defended herself by blowing the whistle on Clark. I'm not even going to mention Martha on this one. With Lionel, as much as he recognizes the value of withholding information, coupled with his feelings for Martha, it would have been hair raising to see his reaction, because I guarantee you, he would have been the only one at that table with the balls to get up and give some **** right back to Clark (and emasculate Lex yet again, showing him how a full-grown badass gets things done). A wonderful opportunity missed, in my opinion.

Despite these minor quibbles, I'd give the episode a 9, just on the grounds that it's moving the story arc right along into more Clark-centered territory, plus it was amusing to see a glimpse of the romantic future of Lois and Clark. As much as I recognize the importance of Clark's awakening to helping others that aren't his friends or family, it's time to get the screentime back onto Clark.

Great, only one flaw that I found (not flaw per say, really- but):

They should have played the classic Clark and Lois love theme when they leapt from rooftop to rooftop!!! That theme is ICONIC! And almost just as recognizable as the main Superman theme [at least to the fans]. That was one of the perfect opportunities to play that theme!!! I was excited, saying "play the theme! play the theme!" only for it to never come.

That's my only problem with the ep. As I said, not really a flaw- but just something, that I think, would have made it alot more EPIC.

Hopefully they do play that theme with CK&L someday.

AWESOME EPISODE!

Going in I had such low expectations for this episode. All I could think is "Red Kryptonite again?" Clark has encountered Red K more times over the course of the show than Supes is supposed to over his whole lifetime. It is ridiculous. It was great for Red and Exile because it was used to really help the story and the result was entertaining. But it has become such a ridiculous plot device now. Combine that with the Valentine's Day theme/romance, I was expecting it to be a disaster.

But I truly loved this episode from start to finish. This episode made me laugh out loud on more than a few occasions. The dialogue in this episode was just awesome. I may hate Red Kryptonite by now, but I have to admit that it really does let Tom Welling show some range in his acting. I noticed somewhat of a different feel to the Red K spin this time. Clark seemed closer to himself. Not quite as out of control as he usually is. But it was just enough to be entertaining.

Really nice Clois forshadowing in this episode. I especially loved the gypsy's comment about Lois and Clark's destinies are more entertwined then they realize. It was a great moment when Clark jumped from the DP to Oliver's building. They love to tease flight on this show don't they? :( I may hate Lois on Smallville, but man does Erica Durance have sex appeal! The outfit she was wearing when she showed up to the Kents' place right after she got dosed was drool worthy. Man...

I am happy that the wreck known as Chimmy is finally over. The look on Chloe's face and the pause when Jimmy asked her if she would rather be with Clark said it all.

Finally, this episode had a great ending. From the previews, it looks like it carries over to the next episode and there finally might be some fallout with Clark's secret and Lana. I HATE Clana with a passion, but even I want her to know the secret already.

A very solid 9/10. One of my favorite episodes of the season. This season started out terribly. But the last 4 episodes have been outstanding. I hope that it continues on this run.

I saw the episode and I loved it. The dinner scene with Clark was awesome! One of the best scenes in the entire series. But the episode gets point deductions for the Clana at the end. Lana and Clark needs to end. Lois and Clark is better. They match better. They have chemistry. And plus, Lois doesn't hound dog him about 'secrets and lies' in every sentence.

All in all, I give Crimson a 8/10. It's would've gotten a 10 if it weren't for Clana.

I guess this is just my humble opinion then. This episode was the crappiest episode of the season for me. I guess I wasn't ready for the Clois action. Plus I'm not a big fan of using Valentines day as part of the story. Anyways, I guess its not the the end of the world since there are a lot of Red K fans and the ratings have kept up.

This is in reply to Son of Kal-el E120:

Lois doesn't know Clark like Lana has so there's is no way that Lois would want to "hound-dog" Clark about his secret. Lois was trying to find out who was Green Arrow. If Clark was displaying himself as some kind of superhero in a disguise I'm sure Lois would be out there trying to get the answer. There's is no situation set up for Lois to be curious yet. Lana was involved with Clark in a loving relationship and any secrets between them would cause trouble. Lois was wondering why Oliver kept disappearing and was getting annoyed and curious.
Besides Lana is a great asset to the show because this is about Clark and Lana in Smallville and what ever happens after that will be what it is. Clark won't get over Lana because he is the one that keeps pulling and pushing Lana away in order to protect her. Remember in Superman I or II...when Lois died from all the dirt filling up in her car. Superman flew around the globe at super-speed to turn back time in order to get a chance to save her. Clark ask to go back in time to make a change to keep Lana alive because he loves her, so how can anyone expect him to give up on his one true love. He would still have to go through the same drama if he was with anyone else by not telling his secret in order to protect them. Gough and Millar aren't following the comics to the 't' and I love all the creative writing that is coming up lately. It's going to get very interesting and I can't wait. FABULOUS SHOW...GOUGH AND MILLAR AND GREAT PERFORMANCES TO ALL THE ACTORS!!!! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!

Really enjoyed it. The Clark/Lois interaction was great and there were a lot of funny lines. I also liked the references to the most recent episodes, whether it be the Martian Manhunter comment to the return to Ollie's building. Clark's speech at the engagement party was quite good too although I wish he would FINALLY get over Lana.

Like vyperman, I had low expectations for the episode, and was getting tired of seeing yet another episode involving Red K. But, I was pleasantly surprised, mainly because of that no-doubt-will-be-legendary engagement party scene. After a lot of episodes where basically nothing has happened, this has had so much progression in it, it almost makes up for a slow start to the season.

When Clark did his superjump with Lois I stood and I applauded! The look on Lois's face was soooooooo Margot Kidder in Superman 1. Great Episode. I was also cheering Clark on when he was making his honest confessions in the party scene. This was a fine episode.

Two break-ups in a matter of two weeks. One more on the way?

Now I understand where the writers are going this season. It's all about aligning the characters where they are suppose to be in the mythos. Who was that lady in the shop who knew Clark and Lois' destiny? The writers have left a little bug there.

All in all, I think this was a good episode. I cheered at the end when Lana and Lex exchanged harsh words. I gasped when Lex and the doctor revealed the intentions behind Lana's pregnancy. I cheered again when Lana was examining the bent tool used on Clark. I am excited about what could be revealed next episode.

I think Lana will find out but by that point, it will be too late. Clark will have to move on especially when he leaves to train with Jor-El after he captures the Zoners. I am glad Martha set Clark straight about his bottled emotions. I am also glad though that Clark said what he said at the party because hopefully it will make Martha a little more weary around Lionel. Good episode. I gave it a 9!!!

okay i'm a glass half full kinda person, so i gave this episode a solid 10. i like to look at the good things and not dwell on the bad, though there's nothing wrong w/ that...anyway...the reason i loved this episode was:
Lois and Clark! So hilarous! whenever those two were left together and the party and both realized they're were set up, was priceless lol. not to mention when she shoved him into the phone booth and laid one on him. classic. I loved the party crash at Lex's. it was nice to see Clark say everything that is pretty much true to Martha, Lana, and Lex. Did i mention i love Clark in black? the Clana kiss was better than i expected. you could see how much Clark affects her and she tried to stop him, but apparently Clark is her weakness too. The end with Lex secretly talking to the doctor was very interesting. can't wait to see what's up w/ the baby? hey, maybe he implanted her with a baby using experiments from 33.1 so she'd end up pregant and be forced to say yes to his proposal? evil, yes? something Lex would do, YES! maybe not, only time will tell. sorry to ramble, but i really really loved this episode!

Best ep of the year. Welling21 you may be right about Lana and her being PG by something else. I love the crash scene near the end. I all ways like Clark and the red k. That was definitly an awesome episode. One of the best ever. I loved how it was so intense and funny. I loved when Clark went to the dinner and crashed it. That was great. I would give it a 9.5 because of the Clana again I didn't really like that much. But otherwise great episode.

OH MY GOD!! What a brilliant episode! I've been a big fan of SV for ages now and to tell the truth, since half way through season five up until now I thought SV was in decline (apart from a few good ep's here and there) but this was a GREAT episode!! After the awesome Labyrinth also this is great news, SV is back to its best!!

The dinner party scene was brilliant...! The way Clark yelled "I'm not done YET!!!!" and then threw Lex into the glasses..amazing!! The cliffhanger too was great...with Lana getting the bent chisel (or whatever it was)...she's on the hunt to find out the secret..I hope she does eventually!!

I can't stand Lois. She looks like she in her late 30's and a decade older than all other cast members. When she came in wearing the high heel boots, she looks like a clown trying to act sexy. I would like to see Smallville end by this season or next. The magic is gone. Tom is getting too old to play Superman in his youth and old Lois adds to the retirement feeling to the show.

Nothing really disparaging about what was said. He stated that Tom was getting older. That's true as do we all. The person who plays Lois is a little older than what that role should be. great episode..........it had something which i have been longing for, PLOT TWISTS!?!?!??!/.w/f.dg/

the lex and the baby thing, the lana seeing the screwdriver the chloe looking like a man from manchester thing!!! k apart from the last one there were some nice unexpected things goin on in this episode.

was quite funny too. give it a 9.

02-05-2007, 02:49 PM
I agree with GooN. It was excellent to see some plot twists mixed in. I did not see the "Lana's baby may be a freak" twist coming, and I'm very curious to learn what's going on there.

Excellent episode. I was expecting a 6, and I think we got a 9. The episode as a whole is probably only in the top 25, but Clark crashing the party was easily a top 5 scene in the series, in my opinion. Like many posters noted, Clark said plenty of things that needed to be said. I am generally not a fan of the Red K, and it still bugs me that Clark used it at the end of season 2, but it was used well in this episode. I am not a Lois fan, but the Clois scenes in this episode were pretty good, especially the barn scene at the end.

I have not had a chance to check the tape, but I think I have a possible explanation for the bent screwdriver. I agree with those pointing out that there is no way Lex could have bent it. However, it is possible, however unlikely, that either: (a) Clark bent it when he fell down, or (b) Clark grabbed for it and bent it himself. I'm not overly troubled by this plot "problem," especially since I suspect it will eventually lead to Lana getting up to speed.

As annoying as it can be, this episode demonstrated yet again why Clark should be extremely careful in revealing his secret, even to friends. It's an enormous burden on those who know. Pete got beat up by the Feds. In addition to Chloe's problems with Lana, knowing Clark's secret seems to have ended Chimmy. So I don't blame Clark for not telling Lana, but it would be nice to end that story line. Also, Lana's incessant need to know the secret makes her look petty, and I am a Lana fan (I know, shoot me).

One problem I did have with the episode, which someone else raised here, was the trip from the mansion to the barn. I can't figure any reason why Clark would not have picked up Lana and super-sped her away, thus revealing his secret. Plus, since he showed off his powers to Lois, why would he not do the same for Lana? I find this unbelievable. I'd appreciate hearing any theories on these points.

Excellent episode, though. One of the best of the season. I liked Justice better, but this was up there.

What did I think of Crimson? I gave it a 9 out of 10. I thought Jimmy Olsen was adorable when he wanted to play match-maker for Clark Kent & Lois Lane. I loved the whole script and loved what Jimmy said to Chloe, when Chloe told Jimmy that "We were supposed to take Clark out tonight." Jimmy gave a clever excuse saying, "Lois was all alone, and...then it hit me. Lois and Clark. You have to admit, they got chemistry." I loved the whole script about Lois & Clark and Chloe & Jimmy. Crimson had some funny quotes, for example, when Lois felt awkward and said to Clark, "Please tell me we weren't just set up." Clark responds with a "It looks like it."

I liked the part when Chloe was trying to find out about the Martian Manhunter and mentions it to Clark. Clark quickly changes the subject by saying, "We have another Manhunter to worry about. Lois. She's only after one man. Me." I loved Chloe's laugh, but Clark doesn't like it. "And this isn't funny, Chloe." Chloe laughs, "Pretty funny!" Clark tries to solve the problem and says, "Chloe, we have to find out what happened before she strikes again." "Too late," answers Chloe. Look who comes around the corner. Lois Lane. "There you are Clark. I've been searching all over for you." (This makes me think of the episode Devoted when Chloe fell in love with Clark. Only this time, it's Lois Lane in Crimson).

Lois Lane kisses Clark Kent and Clark's eyes turn red with his cute, sexy and nasty smile. Lois tells Clark that she's kissed him before. She tells Clark he's the Green Arrow. Clark reveals to Lois that Oliver is the Green Arrow. He says to Lois, "Hardly -- I was just pretending so you wouldn't know it was Oliver." (This is what happens to Clark when Red Kryptonite gets into Clark's system; it makes him tell the truth. Sort-of like when being drunk, it brings out the truth in you). Then Clark surprises Lois by grabbing her and saying, "I'd like to see Oliver do this!" Clark flies in the sky while holding Lois. Then he puts her down. Lois is impressed with Clark and says, "Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. I can't wait to see what else you can do." Clark boasts, "Well, I'm fast, but not too fast."

I loved Jimmy Olsen's line. "You just can't admit that I'm a natural-born cupid, can you?"
At Lex's Engagement dinner, Clark tries to take Lana away by kidnapping her, and Lois fights over Clark. She says, "I don't think so. Lana is your past. I'm your future." Clark fights back saying, "This is the present." Chloe tells Mama Kent something is seriously wrong with Clark. Martha says she thinks it's Red Kryptonite. Chloe tells Martha that she thinks it's the red lipstick Lois was trying on, and she thinks the red lipstick got inside Clark's system. Momma Kent tries to talk some sense into Clark. She tells him, "Everything that you said, there was a grain of truth in it. Clark, you bottle everything up inside of you; I think you need to start being more honest about how you feel. This is probably hard to hear, but the best thing you can do is to leave Lana alone."

Last but not least, I hated to see Chloe & Jimmy fighting. (I hope that Al & Miles don't get rid of Jimmy Olsen/Aaron Ashmore). I actually cried when little Jimmy Olsen cried. Chloe argues to Jimmy about how he/jimmy doesn't know Clark like she does. Jimmy answered, "And you remind me of it everyday." Chloe accused Jimmy of Clark-bashing. The saddest and hardest part was hearing Jimmy say to Chloe, "Can you really tell me that if you had the choice, you wouldn't rather be with him (Clark)?" Chloe paused before answering, "Of course not! You're my guy!" She argues that Jimmy doesn't believe him and she doesn't know what else to say. Jimmy tells Chloe, "Maybe we both just need to take a break." That was the saddest part of the story. Poor Jimmy! Great script.

It's good that they've made Lana more interesting now what with the bent tool and this "everything seems to be on schedule" with the baby twist.

Might have already been mentioned but one thing that bothered me was Lois getting to Metropolis shortly after Clark. I thought it was supposed to be a 3 or 4 hour car journey from Smallville??

I've rewatched the ep. several times now which is something I stopped doing since early season 5. Crimson gets better each time because I hear or see the little nuances that made this episode great. Definitely the best episode since Hidden, early season 5.

Excellent episode. Loved Lois's reaction to CK's revelations. RedK made CK shoot from the hip at the dinner. I'm still not sure why CK won't let Lana get on with her life since he has resigned himself to keeping her at arms length. She is no angel, in fact she allowed Lex to cover up a murder she committed. She has aligned herself with Lex in more ways than one so CK should stop being her guardian angel. Time for him to start focusing on becoming the world's greatest superhero and spend less time on the drawn out soap suds. Crimson was well written and well acted and I rate it an 8/10.

Finally got to see Crimson tonight - all I can say is it was worth the wait - I love the bad boy Clark - a lot of dirty laundry aired in the episode - I liked that Clark and Lois were together for a bit - even though he was a bit mean to her......

 :o I am Puzzled as to WHY so many of you think that someone 'being Out of Control' is Sexy? Maybe because it's on a TV show, but in RL...it's quite scary! YES, I'm speaking from experience. I've been around people who were 'high' on drugs...It was ANNOYING and embarrassing...AND my husband was an alcoholic for several years, many years ago-Thank Goodness-AND IT WAS HELL!! I Never thought he was sexy then, yet he always thought that he Was. Anyway, I think it's only amusing for a minute. However, in Clark's case, being on Red-K allows him to express himself in ways that he never would without it...kinda the same way alcohol Uninhibits some people. IMO, it's scary for someone not to hold back when they really should. It's often dangerous! Oh well, I guess it appeals to those of you who have a 'thing' for 'bad boys', rogues and scoundrels. Don't forget...They Usually get you in TROUBLE. :\

Oh, I can truly sympathize, Imzadia. I wouldn't want to be in a real situation like that, but I can be fascinated with someone who probably couldn't actually hurt anyone--under Red K in a TV show. I am one for safe distance. And I just plain have a crush on TW, so it's not the "bad boy" thing so much as the mischievious, yet harmless, gleam in his eye that makes him even more dashing. Take it from the one who started to like him right after seeing Transference.

I liked the fact that with Lois he was showing off like Superman would have for her.
Right up to where he is remined of Lana and goes all psycho.
BTW--I think RedK Clark is A.D.D.

...piddlin' with my cell phone; Thanks for the tip! The episode I saw on my birthday, I can't miss it tonight (if I'm not running around at the time). I just put it on my scheduler to remind me a half hour ahead of time. If I'm home, I'll certainly watch it. If I'm running around, it may be a little difficult. I just realized shortly ago that the movers are getting my stuff a week from tomorrow! That means I'll be able to watch Smallville tonight and next week, but not August 2. I'm staying at my apartment and I have people at Church who will give me a futon, a pan for cooking if needed, and stuff like that. That way, I won't have to spend money on lodging, and I have a difficult time soliciting a place to stay. When I get back to California, it'll be a matter of when the movers get there with my stuff. They're taking my stuff minus whatever I can shove into my luggage, and I'm flying. Well, catch ya later and thanks again. I'm going to try to see it tonight :)

I absolutely love this episode. Just got done watching it for like the hundredth time. It is probably my favorite episode of season 6 along with Phantom and Justice. I have always loved the Red K episodes but this one was amazing. I loved it when Clark crashed the enagement party and told Lana he still loved her and that he wants to marry her. It was also cool when Clark was choking the life out of Lex. I always think "Man it would be great if he just killed him now" I hate Lex for what he did to Lana during this season. You know, making her believe she was pregnant and cloning her and all. Clark is the only one who truely loves her.

I enjoyed the episode. At the time the episode aired, Clark's faced some hard times:

- The end of his friendship with Lex.
- Jonathan's Death.
- His guilt of releasing the Phantom Zone criminals.
- Lana's engagement to Lex.

So it's natural and understandable that he was in a less uplifting mood. Just the same, Red K or not, it was a bit refreshing to see Clark in a more cheerful (even if morbid) mood.

Plus, I get a good laugh at Clark clarifying that he's not Green Arrow, only to get defensive when Lois labels him as a normal guy.

"I AM NOT DONE YET!" Clark
"Lana is the past, Im your future." Lois
"This is the present." Clark

This episode had so many good quotes. It explained Clark's feelings towards the women in his life very well. This is I think the first time something good came out of Red Kryptonite. "Crimson" was the bomb!

What really gives this episode a 9 is besides Lana getting closer to the secret Clark has been keeping from her for so many years...it's Lois. Every scene with her.

She is so out of character but still there are the little things like the Whitesnake cd. Also getting a tattoo (fake but still) on your boob was so hilarious. Was so funny 'cos Clark can face life-threatening situations and not flinch one bit "Combat" anyone? But when it comes to agressive women he is quite lost :D

Clark exposing his secret 'cos of machoing around was also cool and the scene where he jumps with Lois was amazing. I also like that even though under a drug they both can be reasonable (Lois worrying about Oliver after finding out he is GA. Clark works out a plan to crash the engagement party over banging hot Lois...ehm bad priorities really but hey it was entertaining :P)

The reason I like Smallville's Jimmy Olsen is that even though he is a bit dorky and naive he isn't stupid and saw the chemistry between Clark and Lois, while Chloe adds that some chemistry can get explosive results. Point is Jimmy has an eye for these kinds of things. I love how he find out Clark's secret ("Identity") in S8 and still tried to hook Clark and Lois together in "Bride."

Plus you gotta love Lois telling CK she would have been the highlight of his life if they'd had sex :D

I haven't been all impressed with season 6 so far, but this episode was real cool. Starts out funny and man Erica is rocks, but then turns serious and love Clark finally lashing out on Martha. The fight near the end was great too! =)

Clois was the best haha, really well written. The hot fudge and halibut bit :D
Couldn't care for the rest of it though. Clark breaks in where he isn't invited (not like he needed red k to do that anyway) assualts Lana, forces himself on her, assaults Lex and everyone just goes merrily back to their lives like the worst part about the dinner was the food ... And why would Lois lose her memory. I just have to remember to fast forward these clana parts from now on till they end..

Honestly, the writers could have accomplished Clark opening the eyes of everyone without using red k and making him look like an idiot. Not only would it be in better taste, but it would have been a huge boost to Clark's character development as kind hearted farmboy who eventually learns to put his foot down when he sees his friends are following the wrong paths in their lives. They also wouldn't have to show Clark feeling guilty afterwards, something we see too often. This episode was pivitol in Clark's progression as a character and it was executed in a way that prevented it.
