Your OP: Which heroes are/are not expendable?

It is likely that we will see more deaths before this season is over. One the one hand, the idea that anybody can die keeps us in suspense. But, at some point, the notion that anybody is expendable could start to work against it. Killing a popular character off just to prove that it can be done may turn off a lot of viewers. So the question is this... Which characters are for you expendable/not expendable? I'm not asking you to speculate. I'm also not asking you to prove your point logically. I'm asking which characters have to be around for you to continue feeling as though you have an emotional investment in the show? I have my list, but I'd like to hear yours.

I think just about anyone is fair game to kill off at this point. The one possible exception is Hiro. But let's face facts here, these are the ones that bring in the ratings:

Hiro

Claire

HRG

Sylar

Matt

Peter

Nathan

Niki/Jessica

Possibly Mohinder

I doubt they'll kill any of those off, but I don't think any of them are off-limits to kill, especially on a show like this.

Hiro is a must. Peter and Claire are also on my top list of people who i dont want to see die or leave the show. Mr bennet and Micha also. Everyone else I can deal with leaving.

Ok running down that list some ARE off limits.

Hiro - Future Hiro comes back remember? Couldnt have done that if he was dead, not to mention theyve already said season 2 will involve Hiro's heritage.

Peter- Again Future Hiro indicated Peter and He are friends in the future.

Matt - TPTB also confirmed that Matt, when he eventually meets up with the others, would become a leader.

My guess on who is expendeble is...

Issaac(I personally think he should die. I mean a guy who can tell the future can lead to some bad writing.)

Nathan(What greater motivation for a brother would there be than the death of his brother?)

Nikki(I mean she is just lame and TPTB know that she is the least popular of the show)

Well even if Hiro wasn't off-limits plotwise, we all know they'd never kill off the most popular character.

Except the lame factor is an opinion that not everyone has of her. She's got plenty of potential and some of you all (general you all) won't even give her a chance. Honestly, I'm beginning to wonder if there's something about pretty females in strong lead roles on superhero shows that make them generally unliked by a certain portion of the population.

But besides that, there's too much story potential with her, DL, and Micah to kill her off. It's an interesting dynamic to have the super-powered family, and we know that none of them are exactly saints, so it'll be interesting to see where they go/how they turn out.

Well, my personal picks are Hiro, Peter, and Claire. I like most of the other characters, but I'd be really really upset of anything happened to these three.

Claire will live. For some reason I can almost garuntee that.

Hiro also, hes just one of those people, that like Lana on Smallville, you know they just won't get rid of.

I used to think Peter would be the leader of all the heroes, but not so much anymore. I think that sooner or later him or nathan will bite the bullet, kick the bucket, punch the paper bag, whatever. Neither can live while the other is alive. if Peter does die, it will be later in the series. Hes to valuable and he hasnt run his course yet.

Again Niki/Jessica, the plot will run its course, so one will go, or control the other, most likely Jessica.

The people that can die?

Mohinder, Sylar, Ando, Zack, HRG, Micha.

The ones i dont want to die?

peter, clair, and niki are deff. the ones that i do NOT want to leave. Mohinder is ok to me: i do not want him to leave... but if he did i would most deff. still watch the show

The one's who can go to me are Sylar, Claude, DL, Isaac (or as Hiro would it.. Mr. I Zaak)

The one's I'd hate to see die would be Pete, Claire, and Hiro.

Really, any one could go if handled correctly, but I'd hate to see killing off people just to prove they are not afraid to do it.

Even though I wouldn't like to see her go, I do believe Claire is likely to die; Hiro gave us that famous phrase, "save the cheerleader, save the world". That's possibly because Sylar eventually got Claire's power and became unstoppable (virtual immortality on top of his other powers would be an absolute nightmare to deal with), and Hiro needed to go back to warn Pete. But as we've also seen with Charlie, the past isn't always changeable, making Future Hiro's trip back moot.

Long story short, the Cheerleader isn't safe yet.

I think that: Hiro, Claire, Peter, Niki/Jessica and maybe Nathan def. are not expendable. Not just because their plot, because they are the most popular ones with the audience. And I not counting HRG and Sylar because they aren't "main" characters.Personally I want to see more of all of them.

Everybody are always saying that Nikki's plot it's so boring, well, I think that Mohinder's is a lot more. At the beggining he was cool and interesting but now I only like his scenes because the others ones he is in with ( Sylar i. e.)

He may have powers we don't know about yet. Like I thought he flew or at least jumped real high in one ep after being shot by Matt. Who really know how many powers he has collected. The list had quite a few deceased on it.

As for who is expendable, anyone whose power Peter has absorbed is fair game for death.

i really think nathan is the most likely canidate for death. Sacraficing himself to save others would have a much greater dramatic impact with him than any other character because of how far his character has devoloped. Plus, his death would affect far more of the heroes and open more storylines than anyone elses. Peter would lose a brother, Claire a father, Mohinder would lose the first person really to cooperate with him, it seems Hiro has quite a bit of respect for him and believes them to be working together. Plus, it would further open the Linderman can of worms and we;d finally have a jump on point to dwell into him and his relationship with the heroes

I think that what you said about Nathan is really cool phelan 120 I haven't thought about nathan than way, and your right...his death would affect more of the heroes and plots. Even Nikki's plot.

I would think Peter is either most in line to be killed or become a villain on the show to take Sylar's place since he's becoming too powerful.

For me to remain happy, anyone can die (ESPECIALLY PETER) except for Isaac(for obvious reasons) and Sylar( who we know is not going to die anyway). They are both FREAKIN HOTT, so I personally don't want them "expended".

But the heroes I think are actually death-ridden are Nathan and D.L. Anyway whoever dies, dies as sad( or not) as it is

Nathan has been seen in Isaac's painting as President, plus there are many stories yet to be told about his family (including Claire).

Nikki/Jessica & Claire won't leave because they are the characters that are there for the male attraction to the series, one for the younger viewers and one for the older men.

Hiro is so well liked/loved by the TV audience that it would be ratings suicide to lose him.

Peter, Isaac & DL like the afore mentioned women are the main draw for females.

Matt seems like everyone's favorite uncle or big brother, so he needs to stay.

Agreed that Isaac is the most expendable as Peter has absorbed his power and it looks as though Sylar will also acquire it, he is the most likely to go. Although if they do not pick up D.L.s' story soon he could also find himself on ye olde chopping block.

Peter has to stay since he is just awesome! Hiro is just too sweet to be 'expended' and Claire plays an important part in the story, plus she gives a little something to us teens since she is really the only Hero under 20 (except diddy Micah who's adorable!)
Admittedly, I think Niki could be expended as well as Isaac since in my opinion they don't really have the 'likeable' factor.
