What was the best couple in Labyrinth? We had quite a few on display in this episode.

Definitely Clark and Shelby....gives me goose bumps thinking about it. :P

Shelark, obviously. Or is it Clelby? No, Shelark works better.

There are no secrets between them. They're clearly comfortable giving each other space. They both lead double lives (Shlelby's frequent disappearing acts)

Shelby was the link to the real world that brought Clark back. I wasn't a shipper before, but now I'm all about Shelark.

ETA: We can also be fairly certain that Shelby will never reveal Clark's secret.

Chlark of course. Shelark was close second though.

Haha, I love the "Wheelex" option. I have to side with Chlark, minus the "I'm still in love with Lana" confession.

I'm just a sucker for the fireside chats of Chlark. Clark always just seems so at ease. It's nice to see him that way.

Chlark all the way baby! with Shelark as a close second! :)

like you jaime, oburg, i am a sucker for the fireside conversations....they are so comfortable, and perhaps unintentionally intimate that those scenes just work....

i liked the role reversal too..in Solitude (i think was the epi), Clark was the one bringing the drink to the thinking Chloe...in this epi, Chloe's bringing the stuff for the thinking Clark.....

they kind of reminded me or Martha and Jonathan...it just had that feel to it....

I agree they r,luved the chlark moments the most but I actually liked all the couples tonight.None were annoyin not even the clexana triangle I enjoyed clana tonight cause it should have gotten a point across but we kno the BDA is slow.Still it was good to see what lana represents to clark in the AU and what chloe represents as well.Chlarks talk at the end and the hug(Wit chloe lookin confused)was definitely great tho.Luved lex in the wheelchair as well everyone was great

Hmmm....... I forgot it WAS Clark who brought the cocoa to the fireside last time. Good memory!

If we're talking about true friendship, it has got to be Chlark. I'm sorry, but all the Clana moments were a big WTF for me. The Lexana....Blah. Pardon my french, but they f*cked it up with this whole bipolar attitude from Lana. God, I hate this freaking triangle from hell!

i see i wasn't the only one that saw the deep emotion between Lex and the Chair. But Shelby was there for Clark when Chloe was too busy parking the car. If that's not true love, then I don't know what it is.

Now, I'd normally say the best couple is the Chloevage or Lois' twins, but this time Wheelex wins all the way. Lex did things with it I didn't know were humanly possible.

i think we all recognize that MR could act his way through a wheelchair while TW couldn't act out of a paper bag, but let's also admit that the wheelchair did most of the work tonight.

MR was even better in Labyrinth then he was in Splinter. He always shines when given the opportunity,

I totally disagree here. I thought TW did an excellent job in this episode. I also think he did an excellent job in Transference. I literally thought that it was the MB trapped in his body. His mannerisms (the pauses he takes during his speech, the way he first pronounced the word "sure", etc) were right on.

allright, maybe i'm a little rough on TW, but still. I've never liked the development of Clark, and i KNOW the writers of the show tell him what to say, and the directors tell him how to say it, but at some point we have to hold him responsible.

i will concede that he can act, on occasion, his way out of a soaking wet paper bag.

but lets not get side-tracked. MR in the wheelchair was perfect. MR is always doing something great, so I think i compare TW to him all too often.

Clanark!
The ménage à trois of Clark, Lana and the Shark in Lex's wheelchair was so totally freaking hot! I especially loved the part where the Shark rubbed Clark down with Chloe's ashes. Although, Shelbyaris (Shelby and the Yaris) was a close second.

Clark and Chloe of course. Lana just sucks everytime she's on screen. WE've had too much Lanaville already. The producers need to get over their Lana fixation.

Chlark, for sure.

Clana was creepy as all get out and I'm so sad that Clark is so pathetic that he comes back to reality after Lana tries to have him committed and experimented on that he says that he stills loves her.
What a pathetic, pathetic moment on SV.

Still waiting on Chlark, but dadgum it, Clark better EARN it.

I always assumed Clana would come back, what else would break up Lexana?

Exactly, in moments like these, Chlark gives off such a strong, warm family vibe--not of siblings, but of devoted spouses who never have and never will grow weary of one another.

Believe it or not, I thought the Clana was actually not too awful, albeit creepy as hell. That's a nice little "Stepford" fantasy Clark has going there, but that's all it is. Wake up, dude! I think that perhaps he finally has...not that TPTB couldn't wipe out his development in a heartbeat....

you know what, when i thought of the idea for the thread, a MM & CK pairing was there, but when I filled it out I just forgot it completely.

next time we'll get it! we'll just consider this episode foreplay for a future Clartian love tryst.

The poll is not specific about a romantic couple and you can deny it all you want, but there's more to a partnership than romance.

Well CLANA is no longer a couple (thankfully) and they are on the list, so i dont think that really matters. I think it means which two connected best in this episode who came across as most trusting of each other. The girl who wanted him to drill his brain or the girl who belived he was who he said. Well considering Chloe wanted to help Clark and not have him be labotomised. I went with Chlark.
HEY where is the choise for Clex. My boys should get some loving.
I like how this episode played on Clarks reality. He could only be with Lana in any reality if he is NORMAL no matter the danger to him and no matter what reality Chloe is always there for him, even if it is a danger to herself.

I agree chlark give off that married couple vibe and r supportive of 1 another, jus as the kents were.So I agree,I'm glad I'm not the only 1 who looks at chlark similar to the kents. As for lana in the epi,she was great she really convince me she was a stepford wife  .It should have been a clear sign to clark that he's only in luv wit the image of lana not the person but o well guess we got wait a few more epi's before he learns that

Chlark all the way!

Chloe was the only one who believed in Clark; she was there to save him from the guards, she even gave her life for him. And the scene at the fire-place was almost perfect - just Clark's confession that he still loves Lana destroyed it a bit. But he told Chloe that she 'means a lot more to him than she thinks'. More than friends? ;)

Clark and Lana were not the best in his dream because it wasn't the real Lana but who the phantom wanted Clark to see.

But that end Talon scene..that Clark and Lana was wonderful in the whole context...yes!

sweetiepieeyed
01-28-2007, 08:10 AM
I thought it was ment to be a real interpretation of Lana though, you know how Clark was ever really happy when he was with her when he was 'normal' and had no powers, in his dream he could only be with Lana is he was no longer crazy but if he were 'normal' and no longer belived he had powers.
Thats what i thought the phantom was playing on. He did not get that out of nothing, i thought it was Clarks fears and things he knows deep down. And he fears/knows Lana means a 'normal' life. Hey but interpretation changes from person to person.

Wheelex was the best scene of the entire episode.

I wonder if we'll ever see Glovex on this show on a regular basis and not part of some future telling, or fear sequence. I hope Lex starts wearing the ring starting season 7. Then we could see Ringex.

This episode had very little Clarpie or Claid. I was also surprised it didn't have Orehunter.

Since this thread is not specifically about romantic couples, I think I'd have to go with MM/Clark. And of course, Clark/Shelby! I love it that he acknowledges Shelby has indeed saved his life :D Pity Clark didn't get a chance to thank MM as well.

I dunno, even in clark's nightmare world, a world at least partially engineered by a phantom, chloe and clark were there together till the end. Chloe can do no wrong, even in la-la land as someone else called it. I mean, clark's own mom doubted him and tried to turn him in.
