Paranoid Clark, Panicked Lana, Loyal Chloe, Emotional Lex
Which episode was better?
I can't choose. There should be an "other" option. I liked them both equally.

Are you kidding me? Splinter hands down! It was a much better storyline, not to mention Brainiac was included.

I think that Labyrinth was better than Aplinter because it took Clark somewhere. This time he could look back at the dream and relaize that there are areas of his life that he hasn't dealt with all the way like Lana. I think that anytime we see good character development it makes the show more fun to watch.

Where's the option, 'They were both great' instead of just...'They both sucked.'
I voted Labyrinth. :D

Neither one was a big favorite of mine, but Labyrinth was more interesting because we didn't know exactly what was going on from the start, and what caused it, as we did in Splinter.

They were both great, that deserves to be an option on the poll, and I won't vote for any of the others.

I think Labyrinth was significantly better.
Both good eps but Labyrinth just had more believability.
Even though I knew Clark was being duped, I still couldn't blame him the whole time for buying the illusion. How couldn't he? There was nothing to prove otherwise. For a sane person to think about how crazy Clark's life had been and not consider that it could all be a rational way for his brain to handle being orphaned is tough not to fall for.

Labyrinth. Chloe died. :(

I liked Labyrinth since we finally got to see Clark in a Belle Reve type atmosphere and totally locked away and in a straight jacket. And this episode was pretty much from Clark's own viewpoint and from his mind--therefore we learned a lot more about what he's thinking than ever before.

She really sold that death very well. AM did a great job in that scene. And TW was just incredible. MR also was great with his reaction to Clark before revealing his handicap. The entire episode was terrific. I would rate it not too far from Shattered since it showed us a bogus alternate reality and how different things could be if Clark had been a psychotic all this time. Man, I loved this episode. My brother who doesn't watch this show too often anymore even watched it.

Sorry about the lack of "they were both great". I just figured if the poll is about which is better, then why vote if its not going to contribute to the topic. Sorry, next week on my "Red vs Crimson" poll, I'll include htat one.

Both episodes were really great but the cracked out lookin Clark won me over. Had to go with Splinter.

I liked it better on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
MUCH better.
Saving grace for the episode was a Phantom with an unconventional attack and the appearance of MM.

Splinter was one of my Top 5 last season, Labyrinth was dissapointing, I would have enjoyed it a little more without the constant annoying background noise throughout the entire "nightmare sequence".

Tough choice. Can't decide. Although I think we got a great performance out of MR in this epi. Tom was consistantly great in both.

For some reason I love seeing Clark crazy. Splinter is a great ep because we got to see Clark's perception his paranoia. And IMO labyrinth shows how Clark's life story can sounds so crazy, to everyone else even though we are experiencing it threw Clark's eyes. Labyrinth is a good ep, it has more layers than Splinter.
Splinter wins only because it was funny.

I think that both are the same. I think that the whole Clark going evil without RedK in Splinter made it great, but Labyrinth's addition of the Martian Manhunter and Clark actually fighting as a normal person was awesome.

I still vote labyrinth. I've over watched Splinter and its worn me down. I thought this one was WAY more mindbending/ It was incredible.
So Next weeks poll will be Rush vs Crimson.

Alright now, who voted "they both sucked"
I feel that Labyrinth was way better, just me though. I thought Splinter sucked myself. There was no after effects of that episode after it. And Splinter just showed a new stone that affects Clark. The only good thing was showing Brainic's scheming.
Just me and my philosophy ways, watching Labyrinth brings out a whole ton of what is reality topics. A matter of perception. And I agree that this episode did something to Clark's character. I don't feel he regressed like some people felt about the "I still love her" comment. But a realization of the greater good and to trust in himself. Clark is gonna have to do some soul searching to become Superman and this episode I felt helped him towards that path.

Splinter was the best hands down! It was so much better than Labyrinth, which was really very cheesy and repetitive IMO. Splinter was edge-of-seat stuff all the way through. I was falling asleep in Labyrinth!

I can't wait! I can already say with confidence that Rush wins hands down. I have just been reminded of it's hotness and the supremacy of hot Chlark!

I may do two polls, both Red vs Crimson or Rush vs Crimson, because it looks like Crimson is clark and lois releasing their inhibitions, much like they did in Rush, except with Chloe. Red just released Clark's.

Splinter.
I'm sorry but I thought Tom was much convincing in Splinter than in Labyrinth. He evoked sweaty, uncontrolable paranoia in Splinter.
In Labyrinth he seemed to be mildly puzzled most of the episode. There were a few scenes he pulled off well in Labyrinth but I felt he was positively fantastic in Splinter (I still rank it in the top 10 of Tom's best performances on SV).

I liked Labyrinth better ebcause it gave the viewer a sort of emotional insight into Clark's mind. Not to mention the kickass fighting scene with Clark in Lex's mansion. Even without superpowers, and yeah even though it was pretty much a dreamworld, he still opened a can of whoop-ass on them.

I liked Splinter better because I thought it was more fun to watch paranoid Clark than to watch creepy Lana (not meant as character bashing but she was scaaaaaaaary).
I also love anything remotely to do w/Kryptonians, so I liked the Brainiac storyline better than the MM minimum appearance.
Otherwise I did think Labyrinth was good outside of comparison.

I think Labryinth was, as Mike Ausiello described it "an hourlong mindbending twistapalooza" It was pretty sweet. It was more of a what-if story rather than a "what if Clark THOUGHT" story. It was a glimpse into the future of the past and the past of the future.
All about Clark

Splinter was better for me in terms of story. I thought Tom's acting was perfect for both Splinter and Labyrinth, so I couldn't seperate which was better based on acting.
Both stories had villans wanting something from Clark and conceptually both were well thought out. I was just a little bored with the first 15 minutes of Labyrinth, so I chose Splinter as better.

Labyrinth was DEFINITELY better. The best eppisode in a while. It was an interesting story line... what if it had been true? What if Clark was crazy ( ) and dreamt up his entire life? Its a pretty crazy thought.

it is, it reveals like dozens of more doors that the writers can go down. Like I said, Splinter was just an episode FYE, whereas Labyrinth was entertainging &and& it was goot developmentally.

The acting in Labyrinth was outstanding especially Tom Welling. Great that for once he had the chance to show how much he has grown as an actor.
Splinter was the stepping stone for this one. (loved it as well)
But there is one thing thing that I have to get off my chest.
................................... wouldn't this have been the best series finale ending EVER??? in the history of television
We were all made to believe that this superpowerkryptonJor-el thing was true and then after all these years it all turns out to be a delusion.
Yeah right.......... calm down you superman fans., It's just a thought.
Don't get me wrong here. I absolutely LOVE Smallville but I couldn't care less about "Superman"
No matter what YOU think but I really really really hope they never make Tom Welling ware that silly suit.
please be gentle with me LOL
