We're talking politics here (kinda)!
Green Arrow gets the whole group together (Aqua, Cyborg, Impulse), uses his own resources to help each one of them, and is the, for all intents and purposes, LEADER of the Justice League.
But we all know that when Clark finally becomes Superman, he will take over the Justice League and become its pillar.
I think that in the future, Green Arrow will not step down graciously (pursay) as the President & CEO of the JL, but will rather be downsized because all the members will naturally and eventually follow Superman's lead. I mean, superman is the 'Man of Steel', for goodness sake, not just the 'Rich Guy With Good Aim'.
Don't get me wrong, I love the GA. He's cute, witty, a bit arrogant, and wants to save the world. GREAT! But he and Clark are sort of opposite, much like Superman and Batman. Kind of like a Martin Luther King, Jr and Malcolm X scenario: One fights for truth, justice, and the American way through justified means, and the other wants truth and justice...by any means necessary.
I'm not sure Smallville will take the series that far, but I'd like to see how the power struggle between ollie and clark pans out. I'm sure there won't be any biting and kicking, but maybe a little political unrest in the Watch Tower for a short while.
