Has finally come back to Smallville! Man this episode is going to be the best since season 4 "Run" not only because Bart is back but this is where this season really starts to heat up when Lex kidnaps Impulse and Clark and everyone else save him. Looks like he will play a bigger part than originally planned I hope they make him very centric in this episode

Yeah, "Run" was awesome because Clark couldn't used his superspeed to catch Bart. Slow poke.

Hah yeah Run was the best. This episode will come close to it the opening alone where Bart and Clark reunite makes it great, Clark is faster now but still no match for his speed.

I've been waitilng for this epsiode mainly because I wanted to see how Bart was doing. I loved him in 'Run'. That's like my favourite episode.

Clark is faster and stronger, he will catch Flash when he turns into Superman though. The training must've helped.

Nope! Its been proven that people with the Speed Force are faster than Superman. Jay, Barry, Bart, and Wally are all faster than Superman

impulse? i know bart is impulse in the comics but why couldn't they have use flash i mean he actually is the flash in the comics now. well at least oliver said he didn't pick it. i was hoping at the end he would say "i want my name to be flash" or somehting like that

I think they might not have been able to use the Flash name due to the whole movie rights situation. Why they can't use Wonder Woman or Batman in TV. There is suppose to be a Flash movie in the works and that could be why. Which is why they keep walking around the Superman name I think.

I've read somewhere that's the reason why they can't use those names...But, I don't understand why though.
Wouldn't the use of the names on Smallville only add to the publicity to those movies?

I think they're walking around the Superman name b/c of their initial promise of no flight-no tights, and the fact that this is the story of Clark pre-Supes. But yeah, even though it's been in talks-mode for like a billion years, I think there are still plans up in the air concerning a Flash movie - and hopefully the rumours about dude from Van Wilder (Ryan Reynolds?) playing him will come to fruition when they get all the talkin' outta the way an' get to work. :D

Personally, i dont like the whole "no tights, no flights" rule, i mean, heck, its Superman after all. Are we ever going to see him fly as Clark or even wear a costume. I mean, come on, its Superman. Bring it on. At least have someone call Clark "Super" or something to tie in because personally, the whole Superboy lawsuit and rights for the name "Superman" are dumb. I want to see more of the mythology. Am i the only one?

i know in the comics, batman was the one who gave bart the name impulse and it wasn't meant as a compliment

Warner I hate the way you put your sanctions on this show. From day 1 you won't give them any lee way.

It's amazing they've done what they've done with all the restrictions on characters and references the powers that be on Sville have to deal with

I loved how he'd always wait Clark was about to catch up and then take off and tease Clark about being slow. Like in the beginning whne he stands still until Clark is just about to grab his arm and then shoots off...

Agreed, Run is still my favorite epside.

Gotta love the part in Run where they showed Bart running on water in slow-mo. I thought to myself "Oh, he's like Jesus or somethin!" haha. And the race at the end was great way to end the show.

Tonights' episode is probably my 2nd favorite.

I kinda disagree. As anxious as I am to see a whole lot of stuff develop with Smallville and Clark, we have to keep in mind that this is Smallville - the story of the person who would grow to become Superman. I think the random teaser references, and things like the no flight/no tights policy are a good thing; heck, I'd still say that even if they had full rights to do whatever to the story. Everyone wants to put the cart before the horse, make Clark Superman already in Smallville and Metropolis, etc. But I think once they do that, the series and stories will level out and next thing you know, we'll be referring to it as the show that used to be pretty good til Clark joined the Daily Planet, or when Lana found out the secret, blah blah..

Although I don't always like the stories involved with Smallville episodes, I do think their stance on keeping the universe of Smallville confined to a specific point in Clark's pre-Superman life is a good one. $0.02...

I was so thrilled that Kyle was coming back to play Bart again. Run was one of the best episodes of SV and Bart was a great character (it's odd that I like him so much on SV cause don't care much for him in the comics).

oh and about the name debate, I don't know about copywriting and all that but Bart Allen started as his life as a Superhero being called Impulse, then he took over Wally's old mantel as Kid Flash and now he's wearing his Grandpa's (his grandfather was Barry Allen, the silver age flash) costume (or Wally's, if you prefer) and calling himself The Flash.

DC and/or Warner Brothers has a very short lease on the Smallville writers on what can and cannot be done. Batman, Diana, and the name "Flash" are off limits because they don't want people to be confused or make their movies less canon or some other excuse. It's why we have Bart instead of Wally West or Barry Allen. We should be thankful they have a Flash that at the time was Impulse that they let Smallville use, otherwise, no Bart. They had to fight tooth and nail to get Bart.

In the Superman animated series, he raced The Flash and Superman's flying was as fast as Flash's running.
