As of this episode, Smallville has officially beaten Batman to become the longest running live-action series based on a comic book. However, it still has a way to go before it can beat Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which has 192 episodes, and Dragonball Z with 291 episodes.

Neither TMNT or Dragonball Z count as live action.

Wait, 111? So there have only been 11 episodes since Reckoning? That doesn't sound quite right.

No, there are 121 episodes of Smallville to date. There was a live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles show and Dragonball Z show? You got me lol.

121, that sounds correct. And yeah, only live-action TMNT to date has been the three movies from the 90's (the first one was the best :P)

I remember a live action TMNT series and they had that chick turtle that wore baby blue. It was kinda cool but i don't remember it running for more than a season or two.

I think he was referring to a show based off of a comics, not really getting into live action vs animated. With manga = comic to a degree. However then those shows listed by the opening post don't take that win since there are shows in Japan that have run for far longer. Case Closed/Detective Conan in japan is a animated shown based off an ongoing manga series that has a total at last count I think of 462 half hour shows with a number of films and still coming out weekly. Show started in 1996 but manga came out in 1994 but there are longer running kid shows.

Is that true.
Fantastic trivia, I never would have guessed.
Good job.

I actually didn't know that. What's the longest running series based off a manga?
