I think it's brilliant! A great way to have all the heroes working together for the first time... I can't wait for justice... Meteor freaks VS superheroes... I think the episode would be a great action episode and hope there's not much romance in it... ehe...

The question on my mind is, are all the "Freaks" gonna be bad guys?
I would think that more than a few (we don't know how many there are) would be slightly PO'ed about being caged up by Lex than still have a grudge against Clark.
"Thanks for letting us out Clark, now where is the Professor X wannabe?", "IT'S CLOBBERIN' TIME!".

I'm with you STFanatic. Let's reinforce that not all people with powers (power from exposure to Kryptonite, specifically) are evil.
And don't forget a large contingent of people who just want to go back to their lives or disappear and start over.

The Bart torture (CW director cut) would be a great example of that, IMO I think more of the prisoners would be ready to get back at the captors than to go after Clark, unless brainwashing is a factor which is possible. We will just have to wait and see...sigh.

But some of those freaks are dangerous. Just remember the immigrant killing farmer in subterreanean. They already made it pretty clear that the cops couldn't stop the guy if he wanted free. If it weren't for Lex, Clark would have had to flat out kill that guy in order to stop him for coming after him and the so called Mexican little boy. Will Clark see this? No. He's slow.

Well, everyone with powers is dangerous if they use them the wrong way. But there will still be a lot of people that won't use their powers the wrong way.
I'm just horribly against portraying the vast majority of people that have been held against their will, experimented on, and maybe even tortured as evil. It's like giving justification to what Lex has done.

Remember how he was working on Cyborg so he could control him? Maybe he hasn't been keeping people captive to learn about their powers, but to control them?

I just hope they actually show some of the freaks Lex has been keeping. At least a few, kinda like when we saw a few in Belle Reave. I mean that would be awesome. Maybe Mytzoplitik or someone cool like that. I hope they just don't show hands coming out of cages and that's it!

speaking of Mytzoplitik (lol i cant even prenounce his name), I read that he along with Brainiac are the villains in the sequel to Superman Returns (which I hated). Hopefully the sequel is better. Anyway, back on topic, I really am wondering what happens to the patients of 33.1? I mean the Justice League cant blow the place up with them inside, and Lex wont release them willingly, so I guess that means Clark and co. are gonna set free god only knows how many meteor freaks. That'd be kind of cool, if one of the freaks Lex was experimenting on turned out to be a really well-known villain like Metallo or something for Clark and the league to face in the season finale. Kind of ironic, Clark, unlike the Season premiere is intenionally setting free "prisoners" with powers from 33.1 out into the world, where he in the first episode, unintentionally released prisoners from the Phantom Zone out in the world also.

Mxyzptlk (pronounced Mix-yez-pittle-ick) was a favorite of mine during the campy late 60's early 70's comics.

There was no director's cut for this episode. I checked. I saw 2 for Supernatural.

I hope it's not blown up already in this episode. I don't want to have waited all this time for just 1 episode of 33.1. Someone else posted that it will be a covert operation that will take many steps. I hope that's true.

Click on the Director's cut and it should be the first in the list.
I am looking at it now.
It starts with Bart (in costume) laying on the floor of a cage.

Cool!! I looked all over for that last night. Why did they wait so long to put it up?
It seems like they have partial continuity. I think last time Lex saw Bart was back in the Vengeance Chronicles. I'm not sure if Lex captured him and held him there, or if Bart escaped. But based on Lex's lines in the director's cut, it seems that Bart hasn't been there too long. Otherwise Lex would have been a lot more familiar with him and wouldn't ask him who he works for since he would have been in the cell for the last few years.
I loved Lex's ponytail line!!

I was wondering if Chloe would have recognized him from the VCs. I don't have them myself, but I thought she had a picture of him - maybe just an article, though, without a picture. I can't remember.

Talking about whether or not all of the 33.1 freaks are bad. Lex is a genius when it comes to mind-swipes and drugs. Possibly, he wiped their memories and/or added some terrible fake ones and juiced them up into being totally evil and crazy meteor-feak villians. I for one, am hoping for an "X-Men: The Last Stand" type of battle between the 33.1 freaks and the Justice Leage or Clark. Man, would it be awesome to see how powerful Clark has become and will become by taking out a whole floor of villians using a combination of all of his power, including the birth of flight and other powers. That would be so freaking sweet. Anyone agree?

I don't want this resolved in 1 episode. If 33.1 is blown up and gone after this, then I will say that Justice sucked. We waited a long time for 33.1, so they better make it last. Just check out the director's cut and how evil Lex sounds while he's in there. 33.1 makes him look like the badass he's supposed to be and they better not get rid of it till sometime next season.

I dont think we'll see the 33.1 Freaks vs. the Justice League battle until the season finale. Hopefuly those freaks in the season finale can almost be like an equivalent to an early legion of doom or something

I agree with you. 33.1 is a story arc for a season, or at least, a mini-arc, if tht makes sense. I want a battle and to see some of the freaks. "Smallville" likes to wrap things up pretty quickly with some things like Zod. 1 and a half episodes with Zod in Lex's body. It would have been sweet to see a big battle with him and Clark but just a little fight happened with some punches. Bring on more 33.1 for this season, and mabye, next.
SuperFan85, yea, i agree with you. I just want a battle and not for 33.1 to be swept under the rug.

Are they gonna have the JLA in more episodes after this? If they do that, how will Clark go against Zoners and do other stuff that is his own personal business (talk to Jor-El, go to the FOS, beating zoners, etc, etc)? Clark doesn't need someone holding his hand to do everything. I am excited about this episode, but don't want the JLA in every other episode, unless they do their own thing apart from Clark. This is still Smallville, not JLAville.

Well obviously having superpowers doesn't automaticly make it okay to be locked up and Lex probably has freaks in there that haven't been a threat to anyone... yet. But if you look at the vast majority of FOTW episodes, it's pretty obvious that a larger majority of the meteor infected tend to go a bit crazy and start killing people. In that case, I say Lex can have those freaks, he is probably the best equiped to stop them from escaping and going on another murder spree anyways. Lex just needs to learn to leave the good guys alone.

Don't worry. I read that Al and Miles said that the season finale will involve 33.1 and Green Arrow returning. So 33.1 should continue into early next season at least.

Agreed. I hope they get into this issue of Lex keeping good guys locked up as well. That will show him as the villain. But if he's just doing it to bad guys, it makes him almost look like a good guy, which I don't want to see.
Also..........SPOILER.............
Al and Miles I think said that there may be a "mystery" guest to tonight's episode. Could it be Andrea from "Vengeance", perhaps being locked up by Lex in 33.1?

We don't see the boring guys. Chloe's mechanic was meteor-affected, but if he hadn't gotten murdered, we'd never have known it. Most of the time, we're not going to see the ones that don't go bad - they aren't interesting enough.
Still we've seen a few.

Um, didn't the writers say last year that they were gonna give up on the whole 33.1 storyline. I just wish they'd be more consistent. and/or believable. Like when the flash hacked into Lex's computer in 2 seconds, the computer doesn't have super speed, just him. Anyways, back to the main point.

All i wanna see is the clark join the justice league kick the crap out of all those meteor freaks!
There must be an episode based on that, as clark did say that he really wants to be a part of their team and he evidentally joins the league in the cartoons etc etc...

Thatd be awesome to see but it wont happen. Clark dosent join the Justice League until afetr he becomes Superman and dons the suit weve all come to know and love. After hes Superman, he then reteams with the JLA.
