Evern *if* Gotham was in Kansas, the likelihood of her being able to see to it would be next to nothing. Another reason to indicate it was an exagerration.
I've been up in skyscrapers plenty of times. And you can see everything. Miles and miles of land. All she would have to see is one building from Gotham in order for her to say that. From my understanding of Gotham and Metropolis, seeing one from the other is like seeing New York from Boston. She wasn't exagerrating when she said that Chloe was below sea-level, because she is.

When Cyborg called Clark the big guns, it wasn't exactly a joke because Clark could easily take on all three of them.

As for Clark being so weak, they stressed that if Clark was more of a team player, things would have went more smoothly. This is exactly why I can't wait till they show more with the JLA and 33.1.

I love this episode. But,I wish Clark would have been the leader of the group not G.A,he was behind as always.Chloé was great as usual but,she was a head of Clark again(it starts to get on my nerves,it happens too often now).I gave it 9 anyway because I enjoyed the Justice League's reunion(I wish that the martian man hunter would have been there though).

I don't see why she would be exagerrating. I never really got into Batman, but Metropolis is in an unknown location. I thought it was supposed to be in Ney York, but since it's not, maybe she can see Gotham. And if Chloe is in the basement (which she is), then that's below sea-level.

From Wikepedia:

Location
Like many of DC's other fictional cities, the location of Metropolis has varied greatly over the years. Metropolis, however, is usually portrayed as a major city on the east coast of the United States.

It has been said that, metaphorically, Metropolis is New York during the day, and Gotham City (home to Batman) is New York at night; this comparison is usually attributed to Frank Miller and is helped by the fact that Batman's adventures are more often nocturnal than those of Superman-- hence the "bat" symbolism. (Gotham is an old nickname for New York City, popularized by Washington Irving.) Longtime Batman writer and editor Dennis O'Neil also said figuratively that Metropolis is New York above 14th Street on a warm spring day, and that Gotham City is New York below 14th Street on a cold, rainy autumn night.[citation needed] However, New York City does exist as a separate city from Metropolis and Gotham City within the comics; the Justice Society of America, for example, is based in New York.

Superman creator Joe Shuster grew up in Toronto and co-creator Jerry Siegel grew up in Ohio and worked in Cleveland. Originally intending to sell the Superman strips to a local newspaper, they set the stories there as well, and when the strips were re-used for the comicbooks, they changed the location to Metropolis. Action Comics #2, however, mistakenly portrays Clark Kent as a reporter for the Cleveland Evening News, although Metropolis is based on Toronto, Ontario (see Superman co-creator has humble Canadian roots).

In a 1970s edition of "Ask the Answer Man," a column that ran occasionally in DC publications, it was stated that Metropolis and Gotham City were adjacent to New York City, across the harbor from each other. That same column stated that Star City (the home of Green Arrow) was in Connecticut, Flash's Central City was in Ohio, and Hawkman's Midway City was in Michigan. However, in DC's fanzine, Amazing World of DC Comics, number 14 (March, 1977), Metropolis was clearly stated to be located in Delaware, while Gotham was placed in New Jersey. A role playing game DC Universe atlas guide published by Mayfair Games claimed that Metropolis was in the state of Delaware, which DC itself has also cited on occasion. See bottom of section.

The 2005 comic Countdown to Infinite Crisis places Metropolis in the state of New York. Were Metropolis to be on the coast of the state (without a change in boundaries), it would either take the place of New York City, or be on the rest of Long Island.

[edit] In relation to Gotham City
Metropolis is frequently depicted as being within driving distance of Gotham City, home of Batman. Like Metropolis, Gotham's location has never been definitely established; however, it is usually treated as also being a major east coast city. The distance between the two cities has varied greatly over the years, ranging from being hundreds of miles apart to Gotham and Metropolis being twin cities on opposite sides of a large bay. In the Seven Soldiers of Victory series Klarion the Witch Boy, New York City is called the "Cinderella City", referring to nearby Metropolis and Gotham as its "ugly step-sisters." The film Superman Returns mentions Gotham City, as does Batman in an episode of the Justice League TV series. in Superman: The Animated Series, Clark Kent's mother Martha Kent refers to Batman as "that nut in Gotham City".

The differences between Metropolis and Gotham City are almost as diverse as the differences between their respected superheroes. In contrast to the dark, gritty, and raw way Gotham City has been portrayed, Metropolis has almost always been depicted as a clean, warm, and a wealthy city.

Well have to say this was THE BEST episode so far in all of Smallville's 6yr history (ok coming upto 7 now!).

It had everything I wanted, action, action and more action. right from the word GO! Bart Allen doing his usual to make Clark look like a snail, although I wasnt too keen on the whole Mexican speaking thing.

I really do hope we get to see more of the JLA and at some point the freaks of 33.1. Would be great to see a huge battle.

If they dont make a spin off series I wont be best pleased. Cos the ending of Justice was just screaming for a spin off.

So here is hoping that we do get a spin off of Justice League and more of this in Smallville at some point too. Now for Labyrinth and J'On J'Onnz. :D

To me, they put Clark somewhat in the background to show off the other character's "level" heads, driveness, and abilities and to show just how far away Clark is from pursuing his destiny. He thinks he's God almighty with his powers and knows it all but NOPE which shows by him taking on 33.1 only to walk into death trap not using his x-ray vision. Ollie was in firm control of everything, saved his ass, and didn't need his "OK". Clark should have trusted the whole group and went with them then let Ollie lead the walking away scene. The only reason I can see why Ollie waited for the "OK" then allowed him to lead was that they really need him but AGAIN in the barn, Clark's a blind loner. "Boy Scout" needs to grow up, get a level head, full FOS training, and to trust his great friends. But I guess it's gonna take another ass whooping from a Phantom Zoner cause he can't count on somebody always there to save his ass or die trying.

I didn't like what Ollie did to Louis, he should have kept his weekend promise then told her he had to leave for awhile but would be back. Pretty women like her are rare and I hate to say it but poor Louis is so ready for love yet her man picker is broken lol. Yes, she later realized that KISS was not Ollie and knows he doesn't have supergetaway like someone else does.

I loved that Lionel lied for Clark cause he knows evil Lex is in for a bad haul and Martha couldn't take the extra worry as that would hurt his chances of manipulating her. Too bad that Lex knows his dad lied though, he has full video of the 33.1 trap.

Boy Scout better be extra careful for now on cause he doesn't realize that Lex knows of his Kryptonite weakness, the JL, Secretary General Chloe, and that Lana still yearns for him. I bet the JL doesn't know it was all a setup to see who they were so the next one traps them cause Lex's real freaks are genetically and mechanically enhanced. In case you don't remember, he kept some of Clark's blood and the green antidote in his secret vault.

It was an awesome testing episode in preparation for the Justice League show they're hopefully going to spin off from Smallville. I don't see them incorporating JL into Smallville and it's ratings have been pretty low this season. This week's new episode is gonna bring back low ratings again.

I think everyone is overlooking the fact that if you go back and review Justice (and I have) the schematics that Oliver that Chloe was reviewing stated that the room was lined with lead and Clark if you notice was trying to focus his x-ray vision but couldn't.

Ziter
01-23-2007, 09:52 AM
I know, I saw the show. Chloe said Clark could be in serious trouble with that lead room, they needed to get to him quickly. I never saw Clark trying too focus his x-ray. Whenever he's done that in the past, it shows everything else x-rayed except for the lead compartment or room. He was just too gongho fast walking to opening the door and walked right into the Kryptonite and felt the attack but noticed it way too late.

Based upon his bad past experiences with Lex's mansion and Luthercorp having lead rooms filled with Kryptonite then he would (or should lol) have slowly opened the door and reviewed it to see the Kryptonite before entering.

Well, Ziter, I'll give you points for fiery-ness.

It's "Lois", not "Louis." There is no letter "u". "Louis" is a male name. "Lois" is a female name. Get it right.

Clark does use his X-ray vision. He glares at the lead door and he squints. The only confusion comes from the fact that the SFX people did not put on blue-and-black visuals or the "whoosh" sound that normally accompanies X-ray vision.

Lex does not have video from the Ridge Facility (the one that JL broke into and destroyed). Lex said explicitly, in dialogue to Lionel, that no surveillance footage survived. He did, however, say that one of the guards described a guy who sounded like Clark Kent. Lionel lied about that to cover for Clark.

Other than that, you're right, Clark is very n00b at the hero business and really needs some training.

The fact that he's realizing that sometimes "the right thing" isn't always as simple as it seems (Intentionally blowing up the LuthorCorp plant.) is progress.

Realizing that he's got priorities that will conflict and doing the ones that only he can do (Hunting down escaped Zoners) is progress.

Getting over Lana is MAJOR progress. Now, the question is will it be Chloe or Lois that gets his attention first? ;-)

Yet to be accomplished: Overcoming his fear of heights and learning to fly.

Omegadirective, haven't you learned not to trust what Lex says by now, especially with his dad?????? If all the video footage burnt then how'd he get a single frame shot of the break-in and does a guard have superears cause Clark took care of any guards around him and only spoke to Impulse and Ollie. Even if a guard was too scared to confront Clark, I don't think that Lex would pull normal front door security from his mansion or Luthorcorp to secure 33.1 as they'd be the only ones to know Clark's voice.

Well, that's not my fault SFX screwed up but I'd still bet that was Clark's facial expression of "there's the room and I'm pissed". Lex isn't a Boy Scout, he learns well, it was all a trap and used Wireless Technology just in case.

Sorry about that, Lois!

Besides, a guard would say he saw Clark but Clark was too fast for him as he's not about to whimper out on some lousy voice excuse towards Lex.

Ziter, did you actually watch the same episode as everyone else? You got the sequence of events all wrong.

The single frame of security footage Lionel pulled out? That was a blur of Bart, escaping from one of Lex's Mexico facilities. Clark already said that wasn't him in the picture. This was way before the JL break-in. Bart wasn't even captured yet when Lionel showed Clark the single frame.

The guard did not need super-ears because one of them actually saw Clark's face. Remember when Clark was defeated by jars of kryptonite? A guard opened the door to that room, saw Clark, and said, "Hey! You're not supposed to be in here!" And then Green Arrow nailed that guard with a Taser arrow.

The guard doesn't have to know it's Clark; he just needs a good look at Clark. All he has to do is describe what Clark looks like to Lex, who will realize it was Clark. It could have been any random security guard.

I could have sworn that it was Lex who first showed Lionel the picture then he had to ask Clark who said no so he lied for him after the JL break in. Yep, that's right. And you're right, it was before the JL but L&L still know better. Oooops, I didn't see the guard part cause I thought "C'mon Clark stop being a stupidass" with the Krypto then hurried upstairs to get my son some milk, missed it.

I don't know if i was expecting too much but this episode wasn't as good as it should have been for me. It should have been a 2 parter so they could have gone into more depth with the beginnings of the JL. I've recently got into the Heroes series and I'm thinking Smallville should be much more like that, based a bit more in reality, grittier.

Oh and another thing, there's no way Lex would have showed Lionel that picture of Bart from the security cameras. Knowledge is power and he would have kept that nugget to himself.

Best Show of the Season and now added to my list of faves (Reckoning, Exile, Run, Aqua,Cyborg) 10!

First of all, they weaved all the characters in the league together nicely and made it seem like we were almost watching a Marvel Ultimates version of DC's Justice League (I love alternate Universes) AC, Vic, and Bart's acting has all improved and their images are much more grown up. I loved the Watchtower(Oracle) role they gave Chloe. The Lollie breakup was solid and well read. Furthermore, Clark is very much grasping the hero thing on a much deeper level.

The only thing I wished to have seen was possibly a Jonn Jonnz cameo and some freak fights.

Didn't someone say there would be two ep's this season with the Justice League in it?

Easter Egg report: When Chloe was reading the report to Clark about the company the satellites were from she called the subsidiary company "JL International" Justice league international was a wonderful comic run during the eightys about a motley crew of extremely deep and smart a** heroes. I really got the whole vibe of the show as if it were a JLI issue. Anyone add to this?

Talk about your opinions of Justice here.

:D I had to wait a week before I could comment on "Justice", because I was so thrilled and overcome with enthusiasm about this LANDMARK EPISODE! I was too excited to calmly submit an opinion. Obviously, I LOVED IT. During this episode, I whooped it up, clapped, cheered and had goosebumps.

The SFX were amazing, and EVERY character interaction felt familiar, yet charged with 'super'energy. "Run" & "Aqua" are two of my most favorite episodes, so from the time Bart 'blurred' in and saved Chloe and was chased by Clark through the city streets I started having the goosebumps intermittently. When Bart finally stopped long enough to allow himself to say hello to Clark, it was like seeing an old friend again. The playful banter and teasing between the newly formed or future JLA members was so much fun to see. Then, to see how well they worked together, as a team, showcasing their individual talents and strengths to accomplish their planned mission AND successfully execute TWO impromptu rescues was so satisfying to watch. Green Arrow, the most mature one in this group, as the current leader of the JLA was perfect for the job. His lighthearted, yet purposeful style of leadership brought out Ollie's personality even more. It was thrilling to watch he and Clark bounce off of each other because of their differences AND commonalities within their strong personalities. I loved it where GA finally scolded Clark after he rescued him from that kryptonite refinery room...and Clark's agreement with him. I got goosebumps again when GA left "Boyscout" with instructions to connect with "Watchtower" to locate and rescue "Impulse" and Clark asked GA, "What are you going to be doing?" and GA replied, "What I do best" while turning on his GA 'stuff', and flashed that beautiful grin at Clark and chuckled as he turned and ran off like an Old Pro. Chloe, juxtaposed in the center of all of their activity, as coordinator, was perfect and such a special treat. She could actually be an integral asset to the JLA in all future missions when she could be included. I know many of you didn't like the attention Oliver Queen/Green Arrow got as a leading character in his title role on Smallville, but I must admit, I thoroughly enjoyed every episode he was in. True, I missed seeing more of Clark, but it all made sense to me. I'm sad to see GA leave Smallville. Eventhough we knew it HAD to happen, the Ollie-Lois breakup was still sad. Especially for Ollie, since Clark had warned him about the difficulties in balancing a Superhero 'gig' with a personal life. It had come true and he had hurt Lois albeit unintentionally.
IMO, there were no flaws in this episode. After watching the hour long episode, it had felt more like only 20 minutes. It had me completely captivated. That's when I know when something is REALLY, REALLY good. I wanted more, more, more please. "Justice" was a very well written episode, and I can't give it enough praise!
OK, I'll stop now. :rotfl: Just think of how this comment would've been if I'd tried writing it before I'd calmed down! Once again, it was the absolute coolest episode EVER!! :D

This episode had great potential. In fact, I would have given it a 9/10 easily if it weren't for the fact that when they all walked out of the lab/building, Clark Kent was standing in the middle. I know, I know, it's Superman (and I haven't read the comics so maybe it was supposed to go like that), but considering he did the least and whined the most, the last thing that should be done was showing him in the middle "leading" the others out of the building. My two cents.

:) I understand the point you're making, and that thought also crossed my mind while I was watching it. However, when I thought about it a little more, I concluded that it was because Clark Kent is the "title" character in the series "Smallville" that was "featuring" an appearance of "The Justice League", and that satisfied me. I hope that gives you some Consolation if you think about it in that way. ;)

I couldn't believe it when Bart and Clark were racing.., again,, and the line ( i can STILL blink pretty fast) (note still is capital) ...i just wonder, Clark shouldn't be THAT much slower than Bart, dont forget , he went t o Honduras in under 5 seconds...and glowed like Bart.,...and he raced Raya, and beat her (although she has the fastest reaction time, giving that Spin kick to Bow Wow, AFTER he entered superspeed)...Aquaman......hah, he IS a fishstick, far as im concerned, but he's still cool. Cyborg, he hit the guards so hard, they entered hypertime for a sec...COOl...Green lantern...i HOPE he comes back....LOVED seeing when...you guys remember when lex said"go to hell" and then Gl said you first, then pulled his Bow, LEX was so Scared at tha tone moment, he had to be praying...I laughed for 5 min seeing Lex get that scared...Bart....didn't like the "cage" that held him, for all he needed t od owas take off his jacked in super speed( or backback and chucki t. At those speeds, it would have broken the glass....Lois.....what can i say? at least she gave him one final kiss...Lana...hope she likes Paris....Paris? anyway, Loinel.......he's one sly manipulator. ....BArt superspeeding in circles, that was Scary....Aquaman...you know what the ydid? they put a conmnection to water just for him......unless Lex wanted to go swimming, hahaha...not....but, at least he did his part... Can't he superspeed in water?(although Clark beats him for sure) Overall, THE BEST EPISODE..gets a 10

I really liked seeing all 5 superheroes working together on Smallville. I always liked everyone of them as individuals, Cyborg/Victor Stone, The Flash/Bart Allen, Aquaman/Arthur Curry, and Green Arrow/Oliver Queen. Each one has special abilities, and I like the idea that each one of them used special abilities to fight against Lex Luthor and his 33.1. (33.1 was about Lex Luthor experimenting on people with special abilities like meteor freaks, or on people who were born with special abilities like Arthur Curry and of course, Clark Kent; even though Lex doesn't yet know about Clark Kent's abilities). Thank God Clark Kent came to Bart's rescue. He broke into the glass Bart was in, and grabbed Bart and superspeeded out of there. Nice save, Clark, as Chloe Sullivan would say. Another thing I liked about Justice was Lionel Luthor defending Clark Kent in front of his son, Lex Luthor. Lex Luthor blamed Clark Kent about the lab explosion. Lionel Luthor defended him by saying, "He was having dinner with Martha Kent and myself. No, it wasn't Clark Kent." And he said something like, "Don't worry, Lex, you'll still have other enemies." (Something like that). Also, Lionel Luthor warned Clark Kent that he should be more careful about his abilities. Clark told Lionel it wasn't him. I can't wait to see more Season 6 episodes of Smallville.

 Well, I don't know what you mean, exactly, by "What KIND?" Do you mean what Brand Name? One possible way you may be able to find that information is to go to the CW site and there's a section where you can BUY some of the Fashions that were worn by some of the actors on the show for certain episodes. They tell you where you can buy it or who makes it. :\
I do know that I once pointed out that THAT SAME Shirt was worn by "Oliver" when he joined Martha & Clark with their other friends for Thanksgiving dinner in the episode "Rage". It's also the SAME SHIRT that TOM wears in the opening Credits sequence at the start of every episode since season 5. :p

Much as I liked this episode, I didn't.

THIS IS NOT THE JUSTICE LEAGUE!

Cyborg? Teen Titan.
Impulse? Teen Titan.

Green Arrow is not really a big member of the league.

I'd rather have no Justice League episode than one that isn't a good lineup.

Who cares if they're Teen Titans? Let's not ignore the fact that the only reason they couldn't call Bart Flash is because DC said so. Technically he was meant to be Flash. None of these characters were the same as in the comic books, this is Smallville's version of the JL, just like they have a different take on just about everything else. Everyone repeat this mantra: "Not the comics."

:D Yeah! Ditto! Go with that feeling. I felt the same way, too, the first time I watched it. I was cheering, my heart was racing...I wished I'd had someone to jump up and down with.

I here you that was indeed the best smallville episode of seson six (with the exception of titan), sorry it's just the only episode where clark gets in a really even superhero fight.

This one and Labyrinth were the only episodes worth watching for this rather god-awful season. :p;):\

This was a spectacularly good episode to me. I loved seeing all of Clark's Justice League friends together, fighting to take down Lex's many 33.1 franchises. They all got to use their powers in unique ways (unlike in "Doomsday") and the characterization of each was excellent. It was also fun to see Chloe act as their communications/home base person -- a precursor of what would happen when she took on the "Watchtower" role in Season 8.

Easily one of the best if not the best episode of Smallville. It's one of those episodes that just flows from the beginning to the end.

Well while "Justice" has a slow steady start it becomes more complex as it progresses. And progress is actually made by actions not characters at the end which I think is so cool considering it's a weekly tv-series and not an action movie. Loved every character onscreen from Clark, Bart, Oliver to Lois, Lionel, Lex...this was Lex's one of the best villain-episodes where he was serious, threatening and funny all in one.

While Clark had very little to do he had funny scenes with Bart while they went to Mexico (offscreen but the "I can still blink pretty fast" was hilarious...Clark told Bart the same in S4 "Run".) Steven S. DeKnight directed both episodes so it wasn't hard for him to figure out the chemistry between the characters. Clark was a bit too serious and had to be rescued but he redeemed himself by saving Bart, getting the Boy Scout codename and making a last check before the Justice League made their slow-mo walk out of the 33.1 plant as it exploded at the backround. Very cliched but oh how it worked so well and was AWESOME!!

The whole plant seguence with all it's action was superb. I loved the whole planning scene in Oliver's clocktower appartment. Even the breakup with Lois was heartbreakingly good and all in all gave Justin Hartley a good farewell until season 7's cool episode "Siren".

Liked how Lionel covered Clark and the episode showed them as friends even if they don't know eachothers agendas to a tee.

10 from me! This is what Smallville is all about!

If there is the highlight of the 6th season, it was this episode of Justice where we saw all of the past DCU heroes that Clark encountered coming together. This was Steven DeKnight's masterpiece as he wrote and directed this one. This was also the first episode that Lana did not appear in and it's for the better. The relationship among the heroes was well-portrayed while they're trying to rescue Bart.

The first half of the episode was Clark and Bart reconnecting while the second half involves all of the heroes coming together to rescue him from Lex. This also marks Chloe becoming Watchtower for the group. One must wonder what it would be like to have a Justice League spin-off based on this group and in the SV universe.

I agree. The episode was incredible and one of the reasons I decided to stick to the show's finale to see how it was going to end.

I loved this episode and it remains one of my favorites. It was really fun having all that eye candy in an action-oriented episode. And the hero shot after the explosives went off? Excellent. Close up on, Clark? No problemo, he is FINE.
