Chloe inadvertently betrayed Clark in this episode by yelling out that Clark was an alien from another planet (which got Linda interested and as you may have noticed made her start flowing under the door to hear more). I know Clark also repeated it, which shows that both are very careless about protecting the secret. Clark did the same thing in Fade by calling kryptonite meteor rocks instead. Had he called it by its proper name, Graham wouldn't know what he was talking about.
Chloe also almost betrayed him in Mortal when she was walking in the cave while Lex was there.
She needs to watch her big mouth that she's gotten since learning his secret. I know Pete also had some near slip-ups when affected by parasites and other stuff. He tipped off to Dr. Hamilton that he knew whose ship it was that they found, but one thing I don't think he did was give Clark's secret away (only when Clark wanted him to in Rush).
Unfortunately, I think Chloe will be a bigger danger to herself than to Clark.

Listen to yourself: Chloe betraying Clark...?
They were alone in a room, for god's sake...

Exactly the very definition "betrayal" means its someting done INTENTIONALLY to harm another person....CHloe and Clark were ALone for all they knew so I guess Clark betrayed himself too by speaking up and calling himself an "intergalactic traveler" j cuz he didnt know sum woman was in their bathtub water...jeesh!

^ Thank you!
O and in Mortal Lex walked in while Chloe was there. Chloe didn't know Lex was there til she was about to leave.
ETA: Also in Mortal all Chloe said was as long as you're happy with who you are or somethin like that. Nothing about him having powers or being an alien.

That is why I used the word "inadvertently". I like Chloe too (though not as much as the 1st five seasons). But as I said, both of them have been very sloppy with the secret, ESPECIALLY in the Daily Planet.
In Mortal, Chloe had no business talking out loud like that when she could have been thinking that. It wasn't the first time that someone sneaked up on her (Lionel did the same thing to her in Exile) and she should have known better.
The point of this thread is to compare the way the Kents kept the secret amongst themselves vs. how others keep his secret. There's no question that nobody was more careful than Jonathan & Martha and that all of his other friends who know it & Clark himself are a liability since none of them are serious enough to know how to keep it.

OK, maybe 'exposing' would be a better choice of word...

I can live with that.
I'm not trying to put down Chloe's character. But it agitates me when I read sarcastic posts of "Why don't we use our powers in front of everyone" about Clark being careless when Chloe does the same. If they're both careless, then it shouldn't just be Clark getting called on it.

i hear what ur saying xrayvision...i think they can both be a bit more cautious...it's one thing to talk in the barn, thinking they are alone...but another to speak openly at the DP.
Don't think Chloe will betray him on purpose (unless the writers are very stupid), bt the slip ups from both Clark and Chloe have gotten them in trouble before....even when they didn't know it.
But can you imagine how hard it is to speak in hush hush tones every time they talk about it?..it must be rough

Yeah, I don't think Chloe will expose it on purpose either. Unless she goes insane like her mom, where she won't have control over her body anymore. Something tells me that Lex will find a way of triggering her disease earlier than natural. I would like that to happen and Lionel to come to her aid with a radical method that would cure Chloe, but cost Lionel his life at the hands of Lex. This is what I have posted about since last summer after watching Vessel. I think that Lex should do that after Chloe either exposes 33.1 or even better yet, counters various attempts at blackmail that Lex would try to keep Lana with him--like using Genevieve Teague's possibly frozen remains with drops of Lana's DNA or cloning her parents and give her what she's wanted for so long, but only if she remains at the mansion, where Lana refusing to stay will finally be over her parents' death.

Well, it wasn't exactly 'openly', was it?
When you're in a room alone with someone - do you always whisper?!?

My thoughts exactly.. you don't really expect someone to be there with you AS WATER... things happen.. she would never betray Clark in any way, shape or form.. you saw what she did to the computer right?? Come on!

Chloe did not betray Clark! Its not her fault she didn't think to look in the shower to see if there was any stray water!

Yeah and anyways if she betrayed him he would be mad at her and he wasn't. She would never betray Clark unless something was wrong with her because they are bffs
