Jimmy olsen should stay

The more I see JO the more I think he should be a regular on the show, AA just has this relaxed vibe, that gives SV a fresh look, he´s boyish attitude compensates the fact that he should be younger than Clark and Lois.

I really like the comic relief and the eas he brings to the scenes.

He is very ambitious(sp) and I think he´s relationship with Clark could benefit the show inmensly, and from that article we read about the filming of Justice, TW was really happy to work with other male actors and in a way it makes sense as TW is missing a friend/costar actor as much as Clark is missng a male friend he can talk with, or simply watch a ball game.


I also find it funny that I prefer Chimmy than Lollie, I think AM and AA have a lot more chemestry (he reminds AM of her real life boyfriend) and aside from the constant Chlark shadow pending above Chimmy, I think this relationship is a mature, healthy and HAPPY. You can see how Chloe´s eyes spark every time Jimmy walks into the room and since Im not a Chlarker Im happy Chloe is happy with the man she is with now.

So here is me hoping that JO will stay, as a regular character, maybe the fact that they added 2 more epis, points to jimmy maybe getting 13 epis next season.

clark needs jimmy , i mean we have already broken canon, you can't say jimmy has to leave so that the future will be more like the comics.
Chloe deserves someone to put her first.
If it ain't Clark, I am 100% behind Chlimmy.

The Jimmy Olsen in the Superman Returns movie(Sam Huntington) was horrible. Nothing against Sam as an actor, they just made his character look like a brain dead idiot with garbage lines.

Not as a regular. I really want Pete back on this show. I think he would be the only way to tie Clark & Lex once Lana is done with Lex since he is Clark's friend and owes Lex (according to Forsaken). Plus, his destiny with politics and Lex would be very interesting to see.

But I would like to see Jimmy in his current status (recurring character).

True. But Lois stayed around as well. The damage is already done. He might as well stay then. But only as Clark's friend IMO, not as Chloe's boyfriend.

If thats your only reason, in terms of SV its a really weak one, I dont mean to insult, let me explain why i said it:

We are far far FAR from the superman, secret Identity, we will just have to asume, people will unrealistically not recognize him, Having JO know Clark is not the geek is the least of SV´s problems in continuity, Lois would have to recognize Clark right away, that still isnt a big a deal, although you kill the triangle for two of the mythology (however meeting this early already did that), the real problem is Lex, he could easily recognize Clark as superman and could use his loved ones to get to him, and even if the suit trick Lex, the fact that there is an alien with superpowers saving people around the world that just so happens to share a lot of phisique traits with Clark of whom Lex already considers a highly posible alien, or superhuman.

Anyhow, Lex is very much part of the story, so is Lois, so is GA, so really that ship sailed a long time ago, lets just try to embrace SV´s new look at the Superman origins.

BTW, the ICK is not a geek anymore, that was back in the seventies, but then the DC decided to reboot all their heroes and the first thing they did was make Clark the man and Supeman the disguise, which is evidently the aproach SV gave Clark.

And how can anyone say Chloe's happy with him if TPTB never show them together in the episodes? And when they are together, they look more like friends than like a couple.

Hear hear! Clark needs another male buddy. Plus Jimmy has shown that he's got gadgetry, fighting & investigative skills (he's the one who insisted that the player who drowned couldn't have been a suicide), too!
Plus Jimmy makes Chloe feel good about herself, which is really great.

The few times we have seen them as a couple, they look really happy together. And still Chimmy is SO besides the point, characters arent (or shouldnt be) who they are dating.

He is a cool new JO, but its the same thing with Clark, in the comics Smallville Clark was a a lot more geeky than SV show Clark.

Jimmy has actually taken some functions Chloe used to have making her a lot more realistic, for example in Static, lets face it, without Jimmy they would have most probably made Chloe a RADIO FREQUENCIES whiz.

Also in the mythos (aside from the dating Chloe part) his function is pretty much the one he has now, he is a comic relief and he sometimes (unknowingly) gets himself in the middle of a big conspiracy or gets himself in trouble that defines the plot which will involve Clark saving the day, for example he got mixed in the Fallout Lex reasearching alien tecnology (without knowing though), and in Hydro he got the pics that allowed the whole GA sub plot to develope, THAT IS BASICALLY HIS FUNCTION IN THE COMICS, so I dont see what the problem with this version other than he is getting in the way of Chlark.

Well, the Siegles (Heirs of one of the creators of Superman, Shuster and Siegle). Without getting into specifics, they dont own the rights for Superman, but they do hold the rights to Superboy.

I have said all along that if they must have Jimmy on the show, he needs to be buddies with Clark.
Jimmy has always been "Superman's Pal".

No - he's contributed nothing to the show. Which is a shame, because I was prepared to like him (I like the actor, and sometimes like JO). He's barely been developed. And he is is an annoying possessive boyfriend who is sometimes funny and occasionally contributes to saving the day. He has no depth of character.

If they flesh him out more later this season, or give him more of a purpose, I might change my mind.

I imagine he will be as the other incarnations of Jimmy, a sidekick, lost at anything resembling a relationship with the ladies.
He wants to be everyones "buddy" and tries way too hard.

Jimmy has added a comedic element to SV, but I haven't really enjoyed him. (Most of my laughing has been at him, not with him.) Whether there is ever romantic Chlark or not, Jimmy is mostly annoying to me.

I wish they had brought some strong character of their own that Chloe had maybe met in school in journalism class as a romantic interest. Chloe deserves better than Jimmy, and even she knows that. Their relationship seems one-sided and I guess we'll just have to see where TPTB go with this.

But it would be really nice for Jimmy to go.

I do NOT want him to know Clark's "secret" at all, but some buddy time is needed.
Clark has no male friends to pal around with now that Pete is gone and Lex is on the other side of the fence.
Some light hearted male bonding would go a long way on Smallville.
Think about it, Who can Clark go to for just plain fun?
Chloe is a girl, I can't se her shooting hoops or tossing a football around with. I can see no one else for him to pal around with.
