Heroes will be aired globally (see latest global broadcast schedule here (http://balikpulang.livejournal.com/28881.html)) this month onwards from NZ to Singapore to Sweden.... What do you think we at Herosite.net can do to help:

1) Newbies to discuss and follow the show "real time" their time, as Heroes comes on air in their own countries. How can new fans join in episode, media et al discussions without spoiling themselves? Some thread titles, and definitely comments have spoilers in them.

2) Existing fans (us) to find others within their own countries, and exchange relevant info on where to get local merchandise, fan events, media publicity, etc.

Some questions:
- Can/Should there be a separate subforum for specific regions or international viewers?
- Or maybe an index thread that indicates which discussions/news are spoiler-y?

I've posted a similar query on 9th Wonders (http://www.9thwonders.com/boards/index.php?showtopic=48728&hl=). Have also asked some folks at LiveJournal if there's interest in a new regional Heroes community. If any of you have suggestions on that end, please check out and join the LJ discussion here (http://balikpulang.livejournal.com/28881.html).

Thanks!

Here at KryptonSite we used to have an international forum for fans in the U.K., though it eventually closed due to a lack of interest.

I think "Overseas Threads, don't spoil" threads would be a great idea, though. Hrm.

That could be a start, esp. since HeroSite is relatively new. I suspect the interest / need is there, but agree it's also a function of volume. Do we have any sense how many "global" folks are here?

The 9th Wonders folks were talking about creating subforums by region and when eps air. There's a greater risk of "spoiling" there since it's been around longer and most posters have already seen all the latest, and are more keen on what's next.

BTW - Love the main page layout - catchy, easy to read and find stuff. Here's hoping we get more posters to get these boards going!

I would say that its waste of effort and space to make separate forum here for people who watch Heroes from their own tv-channels. See for example Lost-tv.com forums..

In my opinion people like that tend to either talk on their channel's site or then create own forums.

There's just too big risk to be spoiled in here..

Here in Argentina Heroes is starting on March at Universal Channel. I would be glad to start a new thread or something for the new viewers. I can translate anything from English to Spanish if necessary.

This might only interest a handful of fans on this board... but still, global Heroes news is still great news, eh? So... Heroes premiered across all of Star World Asia channels this past Wednesday (Hong Kong, Maldives, Pakistan, Pahilippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand).... and I know that at least in Singapore, it came out TOPS in the top 10 list (twice, in fact), with their initial 9p airing followed by the 12:30a repeat.

For Star World Asia viewers, don't miss the repeats on Saturdays at 7p and Sundays at 2p. For those of you without cable in Singapore, I hear Channel 5 plans to pick it up sometime this year too. More Heroes international broadcast updates found here (http://balikpulang.livejournal.com/19507.html).
