I really wish Clana would get back together even tho I <3 Clois 2! That kiss was so funny! And the look on his face afterwards!

But He's really upset! And now he'll be more upset when he finds out that Lana said yes!

^^ But that's what Clark gets for not even noticing Lana's desperation. He just blew her off like normal, and couldn't even see how much it would have meant for her to her his secret.

Why should Clark care for Lana's desperation? If she really cared for Clark, he should be more important to her than his secret, which is clearly not the case.

Amen! Clana is dead and buried.. please don't dig it back up again.. they had 5 seasons together... lets let Clark move on towards his destiny which does NOT include Lana Lang.

How appaling an idea. Nasty Lana, who berates Clark at every turn? The girl who always said she disliked people who are different? Clark should never have slept with her at all considering her known dislike of those who are different and the retconning of her character at times like Hidden and Reckionging don't change that fact. A Clana baby would be the worst thing possible to happen on this show. Just awful.

The baby would have superpowers, Lana's small frame would not be able to handle that baby, I've pointed it out many times...one kick and bam we got ourselves a premie.

It would be horrible. Clark's angst should be focused on "doing the right thing" with his powers.

The drama really should focus (mostly) on good versus evil... Lana seems to be a distraction from this.

I agree with that!

I thought about the baby being Clarks - that would be a twist but then it would be a little too much Superman Returns for me.

There is more than enough drama with that kid being Lex's anyway.

Yeah uhh. Clark could just super speed over there, and move Lex out of the way, and have sex with Lana at super speed so that it would be his kid.

Sure, it's possible.

Baby plots are the death knells for many TV shows and something as twisted as there being a Clana baby would just about do the show in, IMHO. Yes, there are some Clana fans who might think it's the greatest thing since slice bread, but I am more concerned about its ramifications on the show. Also, unless TPTB decide to completely do away with continuity, can you imagine how twisted the reasoning behind a Clana baby would have to be? Not only would the gestation period have to exceed that of elephants, but they would also have to explain how the sperm remained 'super' while Clark was not! I hope for the good of the show, TPTB never tread down that nightmarish path.

The only one who should ever have a clarks baby is lois and not till after she knows the whole truth , he marrys her, and becomes superman(sorry some thing cannot change and lana having clarks kid would be a huge change).

please don't imply that all clana fans want lana to have clarks baby. I a clana fan want clana to end but remain friends while lana remains single since she cannot get ove losing clark once she knows the truth lex (who somehow caused her to lost the baby) goes crazy thinking lionel somehow brainwashed her and kills him. clark witnessing this while testing his flight one night decides he has to stop lex without exposing his family to his enemys goes to jor-el who finishes training him then superman shows up then the meets with the jla who wonders who this indruder it the green arrow pulls a arrow and clark says that won't work on me ollie fade to black the end.

Sorry. I meant to say some Clana fans. Seriously, I never mean to generalise. That's not my style.:) It also wasn't a dig or call out to Clana fans since clearly there are those who want/think it will happen. I was using it to illustrate how something one might want for a ship could be harmful for the show in general.

Weird thing about this is, Lana would have cheated on Clark. Or Clark's alien you know what incubated inside her. Which would be weird of course, because it's been a long longgggg time for her to show these symptoms? I don't know, now that I think about it... it is not so crazy afterall.

01-12-2007, 01:38 PM
The child should not be clarks. If it were to turn out to be his, Clarks response would derail him from his ultimate destination, Superman. If he were to find out he has a love child, his immediate response would be to drop out of college (what ever happend to that storyline?), and take care of lana and the baby. Clark would then never end up in Metropolis, and become the real man he is supposed to be. The only real good way of TPTB pulling this one off, is if Lana were to keep it secret from Clark, though IMHO, I would loose quite a bit of respect for Superman, and/or smallville for throwing in that storyline.

I agree, too much time has passed. But I'm sure that it will be hinted more and more that maybe it's not Lex's baby. Just to push Lex more and more over the edge.

from episode one to 99 , if clois had a baby it would not have bothered me at all.
post episode 100, any clois is irrelevant to me, because lois left the kent party to show a drunken lex her wedding ring.
now that this is the complete and utter end to clois with "Hope lex makes you happy" barn moment, I am sad it did not work out for clark.
But I have seen what lana does in her relations, and I think it was the best thing for clark to move on.

oberyn
01-13-2007, 11:33 AM
God, no. First of all, I don't think the dates add up.

Second, "Superman Returns" has already given us Superman the Deadbeat Dad. I don't think we need another version of the mythos in which Superman knocked up his high school sweetheart. I still have a hard time reconciling Clark's misadventures in Metropolis while willingly under the influence of Red-K with the Superman I grew up with.

Well, his DNA might still have been alien, and the pregnancy therefore considerably longer...

Doubtful, his bloodwork and medical files in Mortal came back completely normal, as Lana said so when she handed the file to Lex. On a side note, I always wondered why she didn't get in some serious trouble for stealing his files, as hospitals (as far as I know) don't hand someone's files over to mere boy or girlfriends. It is family or legal guardians, or someone to that effect.
