Chloe - Secret Keeper? Matchmaker? Too much for her?

I think she's still in love with clark. absolutely....she seemed like she didnt want lana to rush back to clark and she didnt want clark to rush back to lana...is she being a good friend or is she trying to keep clark 2 herself. did she look rather annoyed when clark and lois kissed for a couple seconds.....

It is possible that she is still in love with him...not sure...but I DO know for sure that she loves him a WHOLE lot...loves him enough to want him happy...even if it isn't with her....and she is an absolute great friend....I don't think she was trying to keep Lana and Clark apart..she gave them good advice about talking to each other. I think she just wants her friends to be happy.

As for how she felt about the Clois kiss.....i am 100% not sure. She could be smiling on the outside but dying on the inside....or she could just be teasing them both...who knows???

Either way, I was proud of her tonight...she was a good friend to Lana and Clark, she literally FOUGHT to keep Clark's secret, and she wasn't upset with Jimmy about his teaming with Lois...AA made it seem like she would be upset about it...he made it sem like fans would be upset...but it was all blown out of proportion. She is a good person with a great heart

Excellent point. This really shows that Chloe moved on. She's with Jimmy and she is happy about it. I also give Allison Mack a lot of credit in the scene where she goes off on Clark. You can really feel her performance there....she really made you think that she had a lot going on in her head and a lot of things to worry about. There was a moment in that performance where she almost lost it, well anyway, I was really feeling her performance in that scene and I don't say that a lot about any actor/actress.

Exactly. We're seeing Chimmy go through the same thing Clana did last year; we see Chlana on the rocks - the only one who showed any sort of comeback from the Chloe-abuse was Clark. It hink things will get tough emotionally for Chloe - but she's a trouper.

And as Allison Mack is totally right - Clark's going to be the one pinning now. And it's going to be a nice contrast to watch.

As for Clois? Totally teasign Clark *to tease Clark.* She's laughing at their expense.

Chloe really does what she can to do the right thing and that's why I cheer for her more than any other character (that's right, even more than Clark) on this show.

She's selfless and loyal...I hate that she gets crapped on all the time.

I know! That's why I like her and Jimmy together, at least for now. He adores her and even though I am a die hard Chlarker a big part of me is happy that she has a man that treats her with respect. Stupid alien.

I think the Chlark relanship/freindship is the best on the show all the others have gone through some lightswitch .The Chlark is the only one we actully see that has grown naturally .they fight makeup-have fun-we get to see everything and we are shown and not just told why they are freinds . It makes it the only one I can route for.

Agreed, Nospam, it's why in the end - in the finales, they always come back to them. Because of the respect and admiration (or as in S2, lack there of) is what makes them a touchstone to the audience.

Poor Chloe, that girl can sure take a few punches! Emotionally and physically! I love her to death!!! She is an amzing friend to Clark, I'm still not convinced she is completely over him yet, she just really wants to be over him. So she's doing everything in her power to make that happen. I don't think the Clois kiss bothered her because she focused on how hilarious the situation was...and took the opportunity to tease Clark, which i loved! I do feel really bad for her though, she was absolutely right. People dump their problems on her then get jerky when it doesn't work out perfectly. I can see Chloe and Clarks relationship changing drastically in the near future...i think this episode was the start of many Chlo brake downs....and she's definitely going to have to choose soon how close she wants to be to Clark, and if she can really take the pressure of keeping his secret. i can see her pushing away from him a bit to get some of her sanity back.

Chloe still loves Clark even though she is with Jimmy temporarily. The re-assuring hug turned into a lingering embrace. ClarkMan knows that he has lingering feelings for Lana, which is natural, but he is stepping away and urging her to go on with her life. His appreciation for Chloe grows more and more all the time. Chloe got a big kick about the trick Oliver and Clark pulled over lois and was glad to hear that ClarkMan was a hot kisser. It was good to see her lauging at lois and Clark.

Also, Chloe did an excellent job at street fighting, she must have inherited it from her father or Uncle and whatever service they did to learn such.

Yeah I caught that too, I liked how she quickly realized what the situation was and that it was a setup on Clark's part. Ever since Lois has been introduced, I've seen Chloe taking this role one day. I mean, why not?? Allison said herself that Chloe is done pining over Clark and Hydro and the upcoming Crimson makes it evident that Clois is being set up. I'd love to see Chloe playing the matchmaker after Lollie breakup.

Clark is going through the painful transition of letting Lana go. Lois likes Oliver a lot and loosing him won't be easy for her. I guess it could be used as a very good moment to build up their relationship and Chloe can play an interesting role in it!

I know, shes one of my favorite characters in the show overall, her, Lois, and Clark... but this season she was just getting my nerves!! On the otherhand, I'm just glad that we got a good Clark/Lois/Chloe moment. And I was tired of TPTB killing my Chlo-Lo :( , so I'm happy with the vibes in Hydro. :)

I am also happy that Chloe was not uncomfortable nor did she seem resentful of the Clois moments. A big difference from her hurt expression during the tank-dunking scene in Season 4. That is a good thing.

At least Hydro established one important fact: Clark and Lois are going to come together! romantically on Smallville. Well, may be not this season, but in the next.

I suggested Chloe's name as the matchmaker, because she is the common factor in Clark and Lois's life. Both Clark and Lois trust her with everything. She knows their deepest, darkest secrets. So it'll be easier for her to understand their emotions and make them aware of their feelings when the time comes.

Besides, Clark and Lois are stubborn with each other and we'll need someone to break their shell. That someone could be Chloe.

Has anyone read the quote in Wizard magazine? I don't have it right now, but it was about Clark and Lois and how it will take them forever to realize their feelings. I think Chloe can be utilized as a part of that "realization of feelings"

In Facade, she was a little dissapointed with the flirting going on b/w Clark and Lois. In Hydro she seemed amused and a bit thrilled if you ask me. She might brush off the idea of Clark and Lois for the time being, but I guess after Crimson things would be different.

I honestly can't see TPTB putting Clark and Lois together during the show's run. They love their Clois anvils, to be sure, but they're not going to transgress one of the best known parts of canon: that Lois will fall for Superman at first while ignoring Clark

I wouldn't mind Clark and Chloe getting together for a while...but then again, they are awesome as is, really close friends, and I hate to see Chloe get her heart broken over Clark yet again, which would be inevitable from a Chlark relationship.

Come on, no more broken hearts for Chloe. I'm just happy for her in this episode! Clark definitely had that coming :) The hug reminds me of their scene from Splinter, one of my all-time favourite Smallville scenes. And it's definitely great to hear that Chlo-Lo's back.

Jeez...shipping aside, can we just look at it somewhat objectively.

Chloe isn't a teenager any more. Does she love Clark, yes. She always will. Is she in love with Clark, I say no. Her relationship with Jimmy has been one of the best things this season and I so wish that they continue that because Clark really needs a support system and Chloe shouldn't have to bear the brunt of it herself.

Obviously Jimmy can't know but in the same way as her but Pete and Chloe and Clark formed a trio of sorts, Clark needs that more now. He's lost his dad, Oliver cannot be around forever, Lex is just a backstabbing jerk who broke the cardinal rule about moving in on your friend's girl, especially when you know there's still feelings between them. Clark's kind of isolated.

I think Chloe was not only teasing him but reminding him that Lana has moved on, its time he did too. I mean fun aside and that scene made the whole episode for me, I think Chloe was opening Clark up tot he possibility that there is someone else out there for him, not necessarily her or Lois but someone. Its time he put himself out there again.

I think you are way off. You've more accurately described Lana then Chloe, but I won't go into that. The main thing that contradicts your point is that throughout season 5, Chloe encouraged Clark to open up to Lana and tell her his secret. In season 3, she told Lana where Clark was (eventually yes, but she could have chosen to never do so). Finally, as to making a deal with Lionel, yes she did but she never gave him anything on Clark that he didn't already have. For your last point, how has she used her finding out of Clark's secret to her advantage?

The writers are just keepin it real . People do encourge the person they want to go after who they really want. In addition Chloe can still be in love with Clark and date Jimmy. She dated those other guys in high school while still inlove with Clark. And after the mess when Clark did tell Lana the truth she knew he was not going to go there again. They are best friends. And as far as Lana she is off her rocker. She and Chloe want Clark but she took the I'm going to make him jealous route not knowing how much he had already given up for her. And Finally LOL Chloe never made it to get the info because she almost got run off the bridge and then Clark stuck the Cure in her chest. I'm ready for Clark & Lois and the "suit".

Chloe isn't a teenager any more. Does she love Clark, yes. She always will. Is she in love with Clark, I say no. Her relationship with Jimmy has been one of the best things this season and I so wish that they continue that because Clark really needs a support system and Chloe shouldn't have to bear the brunt of it herself.

Obviously Jimmy can't know but in the same way as her but Pete and Chloe and Clark formed a trio of sorts, Clark needs that more now. He's lost his dad, Oliver cannot be around forever, Lex is just a backstabbing jerk who broke the cardinal rule about moving in on your friend's girl, especially when you know there's still feelings between them. Clark's kind of isolated.

I think Chloe was not only teasing him but reminding him that Lana has moved on, its time he did too. I mean fun aside and that scene made the whole episode for me, I think Chloe was opening Clark up tot he possibility that there is someone else out there for him, not necessarily her or Lois but someone. Its time he put himself out there again.

Your thoughts on Chloe was simply pointing out the possibility that there IS someone else other than Lana for him, is spot on. It reminds me of Lois' own comment from Oracle, that bike and Harley thing. I myself thought it was some kind of huge anvil initially, Lana being the bike and Lois being the Harley.

But now I'm thinking of it the way you did, Lois was just doing exactly what Chloe did in the Talon scene.
