Hey, Smallville!
01-11-2007, 07:19 PM
Clois... if anything Chlark isnt going to happen, Chloe seemed way too happy in that scene about the Clois kissage, she seemed happy about, she was teasing about it lol

And Ill believe Ali Mack when she says shes over Clark, maybe she'll play matchmaker lol

Definitely Clois. You had two Clark smiles, once after the kiss when he took the hood off and one more right before they went to commercial when he had heard that Lois really enjoyed the kiss. It was played perfectly, IMO, at this point.

I thought this episode had some pretty dark overtones: Chloe is confronted by both Clark and Lana for keeping secrets, Lana now knows that Chloe is keeping Clark's secret, Lex wasn't sure about Lana's feelings, Lois questioned Oliver's honesty, and on and on.

SO first of all we start out with Clark walking up to Chloe in the talon all happy like hes "in love"!

Then Chloe has to go mention LANA and Clarks like OMG she loves me and he runs off looking like he's "in love"!

Then Clark runs into the mansion and sees Lex and looks lke he's "in love"!

Then Lois kisses Clark and after he rips off the mask he gives this strange smile looking like he's "in love"!

danggggg Clark! Talk about a playa!

When Lana told Chloe that Clark said the same thing about not wanting to hurt her my heart fell. That was the low point in the episode if you ask me. Chloe is beginning to feel the burden of keeping Clark's secret.

after the kiss with lois he looked like it was the best kiss he'd ever had.

I just said this on another thread and I will repeat it here, when Chloe went off on Clark about all of the secrets that she had to keep, you really got the feeling that she was having a hard time of it. This is the first time that we have seen Chloe struggle with this and it might not be the last. I give lots of credit to Mack in that scene, she did a great job there. All of the actors did an amazing job this episode, IMO, and that is strange to say for a FOTW type of episode.

I have to say, you were quite prescient in your predictions that Chloe might find herself in the position of having to chose between a life and keeping Clark's secret. It remains to be seen, however, if they fully flesh out that storyline. I have my doubts, though. TPTB love to tease you with possibilites only to pull back when it starts to get interesting.

That's what I voted. As much as Clark and Lana played the back and forth tonight, the real winner in the shipper stakes is Clexana. That's what TPTB are really pushing here and the latest interview from Al Gough emphasizes that point; it's not so much Clark and Lana, but Clark, Lex and Lana.

I actually think they pushed neverly every angle of Clexanaloe. It's pretty clear that they are trying to go back to the Main Four characters which, while romantically heavy handed, is a nice change from the rest of the season.

IMO, I think they decided to throw bones to *both* Clana and Clois in this episode (moreso than Chlark, even though we got a sweet/tender apology hug) because they knew that Chlark would be prevalent in the following TWO episodes. Then in Crimson is where they'd proceed to rip the hearts out of ALL the shippers to start fresh with the Chloe/Clark/Lana triangle and the Clark/Lana/Lex triangle for the back half of the season.

It totally makes sense and they're completely cruel.

Well I disagree he did look extremely happy wit all the girls tonight at sum point and also annoyed 2.No 1 girl got more looks out of clark imo which is still confusin cause we dont kno how he feels.Jus like when lois confess she's in luv wit oliver clark showed nothin, when he talked to lana he didn't show nothin, wit chloe in tha talon(When he confronted her)nothin. But later on he gave each a look(The clois kiss/mask rip off, chloe at the beginnin in the talon/when he came to see chlo-lo,lana at the mansion tho lex came in).If anythin lex got the best look he got a big smile out of clark til lex screwed it up wit bringin lana up in our great romantic clex moment  .But naw honestly I think clark showed all 3 girls certain expressions of good and annoyed looks tonight.

It actually is, as they are outing Clark's attraction to her to the world and putting all the power in that relationship back into her hands. It's pretty smart actually.

From what I have read Clarks kissing spree did not entail Chole, but I could be and often am wrong. I though he picked on her about it and kissed L and L. Oh well I will say this which could and probaly will madden a few but oh well here goes.

Right or wrong Lois is Lois is Lois. Not Chole, Not Lana, sorry fifty years of precident. As far as crimsion it will probably set up the the triangle well sort of triangle that was in superman. . . You know Lana loves Clark, Clark loves Lois, Lois loves Clark, Lois Hates Lana and Lana hates Lois (ok that had five sides) in other words though not there yet, Clark is starting the have a flame for Lois (I didnt say he has one but theres kindling). Crimson is setting up the relationship these people have later on, with Lana wishing she had stayed with Clark and Lois wishing well lets just say at points Lois didnt like her very much and with good reason.

No for the punch, though I doubt they would try to pull it there is precident for and out of the blue romance in a long running story that would be a bit simular to Lois and Clark in the and thats Rowling sixth book in the Harry Potter series. Trust me other than the ones who small signs it was a massive blow if not destruction to three ships. Now I doubt they do that here these guys just dont have the talent to do it, but it has been done, and effectivly.

In all honestly tonight was in the end the begining of Clois well the intial feeling, and I dont mean the big ones. But it has begun like or not.

I voted Clark & Lana but liked the Chloe-Lana stuff the best. I can sense that they will become enemies or non-friends soon. And perhaps Lana will not get a chance to make up with Chloe because Chloe may die and Lana would replace her as Clark's main confidant. All speculation on my part.

But I liked the Chloe-Lana stuff the best.

I think there were way too many buttons being pushed to count, and I personally found it over the top. Like a lot of other ppl said, it was a pretty intense episode. As much as I hate to admitt it, I loved Clarks little smirk after he kissed Lois...very cute! :) But on the same hand....so was the Chloe and Clark hug!!! Who to choose......;P

Well, I know Lois is Lois is Lois....but I still love me my Chlark...since the first 5 minutes of the pilot....just me and my love for them.

And alot of buttons were pushed tonight indeed. Despite the crap that Al and Miles sometimes give us, they really know how to keep us guessing (in terms of the ships)....but I do feel that ALL our hearts will be ripped out at one point...I don't trust them...they will play and play and play with us till the end....

destiny or no destiny, mythos or no mythos...i love my chlark for reasons that go beyond mythos stories...reasons that were created in Smallville...whether or not we will have Clana, Clois, Chlark, or Clark + No one...only TPTB will know

I'm proud of Clark. Sure, in the beginning I got annoyed that he was all hopeful & went to go talk to Lana, I thought he broke up with her for a reason... But, I knew Clark would never go for Lana after Lex dropped the bomb about the baby. He even said so. With the scene in the barn, after Clark shot Lana down and told her he hopes she is happy with Lex, it was great to see him finally actively taking a step to move on and say goodbye. It looked like he was looking at her and not even recognizing who she was.

Lana kind of freaked me out when she confronted Chloe at the Daily Planet. Half of me thought she would snap and try to kill her, the music definitely didn't help. Lana seemed very... cold, and calculating. She manipulated her conversation with Chloe to gauge her reactions, then turn it around on Chloe to try and find out just how much she knew about Clark. I think knowing Chloe knows Clark's secret while she doesn't doesn't bode well for Lana's character. Her attempt to get Clark to confide his secret, didn't reflect how she cared for him, she sounded desperate to know what he is hiding. Even though she may love him, her desire to know his secret, her past, and her relationship with Lex is twisting her up. Instead of talking about her feelings, she went straight to talking about "the secret you and Chloe are hiding". I definitely miss season one Lana. She was more independent than she is now. This Lana is kind of frightening, Kristen really got to me, which was amazing. It's interesting to see her play this cold side to Lana.

I think Allison Mack is brilliant. I loved her fight scene, it was great. Her scene with Clark & Lois was having me laughing so hard. :) Her piecing together the identitiy of Jimmy's Green Arrow was so funny, I thought Allison was definitely in top form tonight. She played a lot of cards and did it really well! I loved that this episode featured Chloe heavily.

Tom did a great job directing, he wasn't in much which is to be expected considering the two hats he had to wear, but what he was in was really good. Clark as the Green Arrow was awesome, the kiss with Lois was fun to see as well considering what is in store for those two in the future. There was definite chemistry which is odd considering that it's been well over two years since Lois first showed up in Smallville, and this was the most romantic they ever got. Clark's reaction after he sped off makes me wonder if he got a rush from kissing Lois or from being in costume and being able to actually do something. (Also his eyes looks abnormally green to me... Dunno, odd, lol.)

This was definitely a great episode.

I agree lana had mix reactions wit chloe she did seem cold at first then tried the an easier approach to manipulate the situation. And I agree tho she may luv clark her loft scene makes it clear(Jus off her prior convo wit chloe)that clark's secret is more important and it doesn't look good for lana.As for AM performance I agree chloe was great tonight, every character had their moments but lana smh I dont kno what to say about her.Tho I credit her for tellin clark she's tired of bein in denial/tryin to keep him in her life/fix their friendship I hate that she makes his secret a big deal and the trust issue. She tried to make chlark feel sorry for her til 1 cracked but it didn't work and she seemed like she settle for lex by default tonight which didn't look 2 good for lex as well smh.I dont kno I have mix feelings about lexana tonight, but the rest was great

I LOVED that they made his reaction so important because this guy just kissed the love of his life for the first time. That is HUGE. And the scene in Lois' apartment where she says how great it was? His reaction was adorable.

Clark is a man of the 21st century, and an alien.
He can love many people. At once.

I agree, no other girl produced (with a kiss) the look he had on his face after Lois kissed him. Looks like he thoroughly enjoyed helping his buddy Oliver keep his secret identity that night!

Pondering over all the Ships in this epi, I think everything was pushed in this. We got a little taste of everything we may and may not have wanted.

I think the episode was called "Hug". I agree with you, he was surprised and certainly enjoyed the kiss, but (no offence to Chloe) I think he enjoyed the one from Lois much more. I mean he looked like he could barely keep himself from screaming with joy.

No Clois, that's sure. It would be ridiculous to want Superman to fall for a girl after one disgusting, played for laughs anyway, kiss from a girl who dissed and mistreats him every chance she gets. That's not how Superman should ever be piortrayed, as stupid, shallow and clueless as the girl who kissed him. It was strictly played for laughs.

Clark's reaction later when Chloe made him listen to Lois made that clear. He was embarrased and was not in any way shown to be pining for Lois now or deciding he can't wait to get horizontal with her or anything else.

Chlark is coming and considering the serious sweetnes we saw, there's no question of it. And you did notice that one moment when the director made sure the camera zeroed in on Chloe's hand on Clark? There's a reason for that. I mean, in addition to the fact that TPTB said flat out that Clark has a thing for Chloe.

Lois is just clueles comedy relief.

Hey, Smallville!

When did the PTB say Clark has a thing for Chloe? Because Ive read otherwise, and they even say the triangle between her, Jimmy and Clark isn''t a Love one... and that its Jimmy who thinks Clark has feelings.

IMO, that AM was making a joke, not necessarily stating what was going to happen in the future. I do not think Chloe will be a part of any triangles. It would not make sense at this point in the story.

I think Chloe's hand on Clark was also played for comedy not for any future romantic relationship. It was all part of the scene so Chloe would not let Clark interupt Lois's story. It was played for laughs. Not sure what other reason you could conceive of after watching that scene.

I think Clark and Chloe can still happen. In fact I know it can still happen!!

Remember, Lois said she was in love with OLIVER in this episode not Clark. What is there to build a relationship on with Lois and Clark? One kiss? Where Lois didn't even know who she was kissing so it could've been Lionel for all she knows.

Clark and Lana doesn't seem like it will happen and this is from Clark's point of view. Lana doesn't even want someone she "can't trust" and has said yes to Lex's proposal.

But Chloe and Clark have a much deeper relationship. There is understanding there between them both. In this ep, Clark has seen how much pressure Chloe is in knowing his secret and I think he will keep on appreciating her more and more. It's only a matter of time.

i think we got a lot more Chlark than just that "appology hug" as ppl are calling it: Every single time he sees her in the epi , his face lights up! He looks so taken with happiness EACH time, except before Chloe's blowup,

and afterward, Clark is more like 'god, you're so much more important than all of this to me.... I don't want to ever hurt you... you're my best friend in the whole world!'

AND don't ya know they were making out in between that hug? ;) Ya know... where the camera leaves them to show us Tori turning into water and eavesdropping. Then the camera went back to Chlark and they were hugging again/still. :)

I didn't find it that dark at all.

Chloe was frustrated from always getting stuck in the middle, lashed out, then made up. Lois was conflicted, sought "the truth", but got duped. Lana realized that on a certain level, Chloe is closer to Clark than she will ever be. Lex was just insecure.

The scene with the hug developed a dynamic of Clark and Chloe that we've not seen before: Genuine friendship. Not that I don't think that TPTB are steering things away from Chlark and towards Clois. At least it's not a total lightswitch. After all, back in S4 when Lois was first introduced, there were some sparks between the two, even if it was just head-butting. Both Lana and Chloe saw it. Now they seem to be actually developing a relationship there, even though Lois hasn't got a clue that her "kisser" was Clark.

And yes, I did think that the scene with Chloe, Lois and Clark was cute. Reality check. Chloe's got Jimmy. Chloe is Clark's friend. Chloe is Lois' cousin. Of course she's going to want her cousin to hook up with someone that she knows is a great guy. And her teasing of Clark was priceless! I'm pretty sure she's figured out that Ollie is Green Arrow.

Umm, Margroks, didn't TW direct this ep? I mean, I thought they hit the Chlark button the hardest, but I'm not sure if it's going to go romantic.

Always in motion, the future is. ;)

I agree.

You know..i just watched the scene pf Green Arrow and Lois kissing and then the Chloe-Clark-Lois scene at the talon.....i dont know how can Lois say that GA is such a good kisser...from the kissing scene it appears that it was jst a brush of lips...how can you say that by the brush of lips...a person is a good kisser...i mean in order to make that kind of a statement with respect to your millionaire boyfriend....................there should have been a certain amount of deep kissing also!!!!

Even though I'd like to say that the Chlark relationship button was pushed most, especially with that beautiful hug, it's clear that Clois was being shoved at us big time in "Hydro!" I liked it more now, though, since it's pretty clear that Chlark isn't ever going to happen again, and Clois is inevitable, and more and more beautiful now that Erica Durance is fully in her acting stride (I've been of the opinion that she wasn't the best in Season 4 and has gotten better and better until being total star quality now). The way Clark responded to the kiss, and then Lois's opinion of it, was CLASSIC. Chloe's little smug grin and commentary about the whole story were pretty hilarious, too.
