Post about missed opportunities you spotted where they could have made things better or more interesting.

I think they could have had another killer ending with Lex watching a video of Linda turning into water upon impact with Lana's SUV & going to the scene where it happened (since he probably has it bugged with a camera and/or GPS) and taking the water away with his 33.1 team. A closing shot with the camera pointed toward Lex & his teams' backs as they walk into the 33.1 gate would have been awesome and would have added suspense as to whether Lex would succeed in re-integrating Linda if for some reason she can't do that herself.

I think the Clark/Oliver/Lois plan and kissage went by wayyy too fast, it was completely rushed

I think that they should've setup Justice at the end of this episode. Have a GA/Clark scene in the loft or something to setup the fact that he is tracking down the rest of the Justice League or give me something having to do with 33.1 to get us pumped for next week.

Worst thing about the episode was that it ended. Urgh, can't wait until next week. After weeks and weeks of waiting during hiatus, and now I have to wait again. :(

You got a point there Matt. I was hoping that the title of the episode, Hydro, would also refer to AC showing up at the end of the episode. They should have cliffhanger endings more often. Something like an explosion caused by Lex's army at the very end of an episode would be cool and very uncharacteristic for this show. The last time they did that after an ordinary episode was in Hereafter with Jonathan's 1st heart attack.

In all honesty, I would have love to see Lex with a small piece of info that Linda had on Clark being an alien.
Not enough to just blurt it right out to Lex, but enough to have use Lana in order to find out more about Clark from everyone she knows.
That would have been a good ending instead of the 180 Lana did with the "YES"

I know. As I said, the most exciting thing we have seen thus far from Lana was in Fanatic with that theory she had. I just wish they would have made her learn the secret in Reckoning from Milton Fine, who should have been revealed as not only Clark's professor but her astronomy professor, and who in that episode would expose Clark to Lana as a distraction to continue his plans.
But back on subject, they really have to build something up. They did a cool thing with the cameras in Sneeze, as I thought she may see footage of Clark superspeeding in the hallway. Something tells me that Lana will review some security tape and find out the secret like that. I definitely think there was a purpose for showing that Lex has cameras in his mansion other than just showing Lex as a spy/voyeur. I'm guessing she will review the tapes due to something happening and then destroy them, to which Lex will flip out.

Hydro was such a great episode, it made me wish for clana pre-episode 100.
and i hate clana, but it was done so well. so artistically real, i saw superman in clark's choice tonight with lana.
great stuff.

I think a scene with Clark shooting an arrow and missing would also have been interested. It would perhaps plant a seed of doubt in her mind as to if the GA she saw in the alley was the real one since the real one wouldn't miss.

Clarks strange behavior and apparent feelings for every femal character on the show...one minute he's checking out chloe at the talon, next minute he hears lana may still be in love w him and he goes running back to her w open arms, and the next he is smirking after lois kisses him...wth? this IS a total ONE MAN soap opera.

This may be stupid but i wish Chloe would have put all her cards out there. She had the courage to stand up to Clark and tell him how she felt about keeping his secret, and cutting her some slack, and i wanted her to do the same with lana. Let Lana know....ok, I keep your secrets and i don't tell anyone, so if Clark did have a secret why would you expect me to just hand that information over to you? It's between Lana and Clark, and it's not right for Lana to put Chloe in the middle. So....that would have been nice to see. Lana accused Chloe of all sorts of crap in this episode...so a verbal beating for Lana would have been nice! haha.

The biggest missed opportunity is having wet catfight.

Hahaha!!!! Chloevage vs. Lake Not So Placid. I could just imagine how wet & wild it would be. Winner goes home with the Intergalactic Space Traveller Farmboy.
Another missed opportunity:
Clark could have given a hint that in "another lifetime" he did propose and that things ended badly. It would have been fitting given what Lana said to Chloe about Clark proposing to her and not delaying it as she did with Lex. I think Clark could have even snuck in something about even in that other lifetime when he did propose, she had trouble accepting him for what he was ("what" is the exact word he should have used if he said these things to make things interesting instead of using "who"). That would have been another cool buildup into the inevitable revelation that will happen, probably in another 4-5 episodes.

Completely agree. That's about the only thing I could criticize about this episode, because it was excellent. Can't wait 'till next week.

I thought about this some more, and think that instead of having explosions, having things like robberies through solid walls (those guys in Kinetic), eletrocutions (Lee in Mortal), invisible barriers (the twins in Mortal) and other signs of past meteor freaks' powers happening and being reported on the news would have been a great lead-in to Justice.
Based on the trailer of Justice, I'm not sure if it will be as good as I hoped. I'm not sure how they could have Lex's army form within 1 episode and have the JLA form and battle them out just like that without any prior lead-in. I also didn't like how Ollie was the one who said "My team's on it". His team? The only one who met all the other heroes is Clark, not Ollie. I hope he's the one who introduces them to Ollie.
How will they explain that Bart, Clark, AC, Victor & Ollie all convene just like that? I think having short scenes showing Lex's freak army on the loose & causing trouble in Hydro with quick cameos of Bart, AC & Victor who would show up in Metropolis after finding out about these events would have been great. It would seem too convenient if Clark & Ollie will find the other 3 heroes in the time of crisis just like that. I hope they don't do that. They could still prevent this by showing some flashback scenes with Lex's army causing havoc and having this be the reason why Bart, Victor & AC are attracted & drawn to Metropolis.

Clark shouldn't deny having a secret or try to push the idea off. He should acknowledge that there is something that he wants to keep a secret and tell Lana that it's best that she doesn't know

All three plots were kind of rushed... maybe we could have skipped a few scenes... like, uh, like Lana/Chloe teaming up against Linda Lake. It didn't really add much to the plot. It was kind of useless.
Lex handled this all like a 'nice' guy. And that's irritating! The only part he was even somewhat mean was to Clark, and seriously, that could have gotten more heated!
Where was Linda Lake and level 33.1 where we needed it?

If this is what you're expecting, then you will be disappointed. It's been said before by TPTB that the Justice team will be operating more covertly, and there isn't going to be some huge JL vs. 33.1 fight. This is about the pro-JL forming and hinting at Clark's future fighting with a team. Focusing on some huge action-oriented (something Smallville is not) fight would detract from the entire point of the episode.

^^I'm not sure if that makes me more pleased or not. It would make me happy if 33.1 isn't a memory after Justice. It has a lot of potential and dragging it out in smaller, more covert battles would be better for the show.

I personally wanted to see Clark try and shoot an arrow, and almost accidently take Jimmy, Lois, random thug, or the Daily Planet logo out.
Of course Lois, random thug, and Jimmy would duck, but DP ball would be gone...
