I think ratings might be a little low b/c might have forgotten about SV or people might not know a new epi is on. Spoilers and kisses? This would only apply to the small percentage of people on the Net, and we always watch the epis. So yeah, my prediction, is that it might be somewhat low, to medium... but only b/c of the hiatus.

Come to think of it... now that I've seen that there's been 6 trailers, and tons of promotion, we just might get some good ratings. Possibly even a 5mil.

You know I have seen more promotion for these upcoming episodes than in the past. Its like everytime I'd flip through the channels CW's SV ad was running. Though 5 mil is out of the question. If SV past is any indicator, after hiatus' SV ratings are usually low. I do think a huge upswing is in its future with the higly anticipated Justice due out next week. Thats when SV might get 5mil...maybe.

Well ratings could go up seeing how survivor is over and now in its time slot is some celebrity cop show which probably wont be as high in ratings so the people who watched survivor who are also fans of smallville mnight come back to watching smallville. So my guess the ratings will probably be low but not as low as they would be if survivor was on. Also other shows i think may still be in repeats so we may get some of those viewers.

I think the ratings will be fairly low because we're just coming back from hiatus and the casual viewers might have learned to live without Smallville moreso than us hardcore fans have. But if they have a solid/decent episode with Hydro, then next week's ratings could be huge. Then if Justice is good, Labyrinth and Crimson, which I believe will be really good, could put Smallville higher up in the ratings then it has been so far this year.

If any Sv fan forgot it came on tonight they are crazy. Even though I knew when new eps start i watched repeats every week besides people that get the Cw would probably remember.

Even though we had a hiatus people don't forget I have convinced several people to watch it tonight and they never watch SV I think the ratings will be rather high.

Casual viewers forget these things. Not everyone who watches the show is a hardcore dedicated fan. There are likely plenty of people who will forget it comes on tonight, it's just natural when any show goes on hiatus.

They've actually been promoting this episode pretty decently. I hope they keep promoting Justice since that should be the episode that draws the highest ratings.

Since there are over 850 people on the K-Site threads tonight, I'm assuming this episode brought in a bigger crowd!

MidgardDragon
01-11-2007, 08:12 PM
One thing I noticed is that the board didn't go down once tonight, though. Usually when the big crowds flood the boards, the boards end up messing up and you have to hit refresh about 50 times to get anything to come up. Dunno if it's that the board software has been upgraded or fixed, or if there simply weren't as many people as in the higher-ratings episodes posting.

I think they will be the best this season.

when do we find out?

It was a great episode. I have a feeling it will bring in some good numbers. The CW did a much better time promoting this one. It was ALL over TVGuide.

If not we can be sure next will, Justice is not only a very promising epi, but it had a great previous one, the epi before influences a lot how the next one does, say if one episode is bad a lot of people dont tune in for the next one, and viceversa

Exactly. They did a great job by releasing a solid episode this week, but not making it their "big" episode. Next week's rating will likely be amazing after this week's episode was good and they're promoting next week so heavily.

Smallville (CW)

Also at 8 p.m. was the CW’s healthy Smallville (3.6/ 5).

First time Smallville gets an honorable mention this season, but God forbids we say this has something to do with the promotion of this episode.

Here are the "Justice" characters episode ratings.

Run........5.41 mil
Aqua.......6.4 mil
Cyborg.....6.24 Mil
Arrow......4.71 mil

Hopefully, next week is closer to Cyborg than Arrow.

Anything less than Run would be a disappointment for Justice.

Smallville is having a hard time go above the 5 million viewers. I doubt it'll be close to Cyborg's numbers

Well, they did 5 million viewers earlier this season. With the right promotion, Justice could be their highest rated show of the season.

What has been the difference between the overnights and the finals so far this season? Are we going to gain .10-.30 viewers once they tally it up proper, or is it more likely just going to be a .3ish raise at the final?

There are a few reasons for lower ratings. Fist and foremost, the show is six years old. Ratings almost always drop when shows go on this long.

Another big one is the move to The CW. The CW does not have as many markets as The WB did. So when WB and UPN combined, this boosted ratings for UPN shows, which didn't have as many markets as The CW does not, and lowered ratings for WB shows, which had more markets than The CW does.

Smallville is still The CW's number 2 ranked show, and the only one that beats it out is America's Next Top Model, a reality show, which is a popular (blah) type of show right now. Don't let the ratings concern you too much, just remember that Smallville is The CW's number two show.

It is pretty good for it being the sixth year. Most shows fall in the 3 million range by now.

No its got everything to do with Clana:rolleyes:

the ratings skyrocketed EXACTLY when Lana whent to the loft to speak to Clark and DRAMATICALLY droped when the audience realized there wouldnt be a Clana kiss, and NO IM NOT BEING SARCASTIC AT ALL.;)

chlarkfan333

And following that absurd line of inference one could argue that if Justice does well it's because there was no Clana! I don't give a damn about ratings. I don't think the CW is going to drop SV, so I'm not too concerned about ratings unless there's a precipitous drop.

Not quite to Zod or fall out levels, but close to Sneeze, Arrow, Reunion, and Static levels. All solid episodes as well. The main difference in Hydro is that it's a solid episode, but it didn't have a solid lead-in episode. (Just look at Wither, arguably the weakest episode this season but it's rating were high with the strong Sneeze lead-in.)

I am a big dork and missed Hydro because I thought it was still a repeat this past week. Duh. So...does anyone know if episodes are repeated soon after they air (as so many series are doing now), and if so, when? If it won't be shown again soon, is there a way to view online (or download)?

Thank you!!!!!!!

The ratings are OK. They really need Justice and Crimson to kick some serious a*s going into sweeps. I don't watch the CW/WB often so I don't know how much they are promoting it.

Because serious once American Idol starts airing on Thursdays ... yeesh steamroller.

I got a PC TV tuner card, that way I can set it to record automatically.
It works great for me.
Except the time I forgot to turn on the computer.

I am usually on my laptop during the episode.
