I saw the season sneak peak during the Cowboys game (yes they lost) on Christmas. The season looks like it is going to be just as good as the show started. They replaced "Save the Cheerleader, Save the world." with "Are you on the list?". Which I think answers a very important question that we have seen over and over on the forums, which is, "will they add new characters. Which of course I think they will add alot of new people. But that begs the questions what powers do you think they will have and what kind of person do think they should give them to. For example the power of bending metal with their mind (yes like Magneto) but the person is a midget or a fat lady. I'm just curious.

Well, we now have flame. I am hoping for some shapeshifting somewhere down the road.
A speedster would be cool too.

They had that, her name was Eden.

A cool new power we have not seen would be a Gambit type power not necessarily with the cards, but the powering things to make things explode thing.

I'd like to see freezer. The opposite end of the spectrum form calire's mother. That could make a very interesting confrontation

the fire vs ice is so overplayed. I think Heroes will stay clear of an X-Men duel kinda deal.

I think the "Gambit" type of power would be pretty cool to see.

I agree with the fire vs ice scenario. Do you think they should start getting into animal type traits or would that be to close to x-men as well.

I think ice dude may have been killed by Sylar already. In one of the first eps Matt was investigating a murder and the body appeared to be frozen solid. Meaning Sylar stole that power from his victim or from someone else and used it on the dead guy.

i think the fact that the show steals overplayed comic book cliche's and reshows them in a new more intelligent light is what makes the show great. also i think the body where just in rigamortis and not frozen

Sylar has been confirmed to have cryokinesis ("ice power") in one of the online comics.

I also really like how most of the powers are overly cliched powers, like flight, invisibility, and mind reading. I really hope they stick toward powers like these; things like shape-shifting or Gambit's power might take away from the suspension of disbelief. I also think that animal-like powers are unlikely, as the powers are a form of evolution and that strikes me more as devolution.

True, but even in Xmen the mutations are form of evelution. I think it would be a silly addition myself. I just opened my big geek cabinet the other day and watched the trilogy and that was all I could think about. Peter get a little Beast in him and turns blue.

I just think that mutations that express themselves physically (like Angel's wings or shapeshifting) are less probable than the ones shown on the show so far, at least until a third or fourth generation mutation.

How about someone with animal senses like Wolverine? I'm trying to think of new cool powers, like painting the future, bend time and will, split personality w/ strength, absorb powers and reuse them, steal powers by killing them(then again it's kinda like Leech, but so is Peter). Also we have the email text whatever person. I'd also like to see a power like being able to perceive many things. Like a guy predicts what the score will be for the Superbowl, and is completely right. He could be an advid sports guy and uses it to gamble, but then we have this guy Linderman who is pissed that this guy legally wins. Blah blah blah. Another power could be write messages into the ground or something.

I'd like to see some oddball powers like Maul's growth ability, or someone who can produce spikes from their body ala Spike, or someone who can split into multiple versions of themselves. The last one has been rumored to be HRGs' ability because he seems to get from place to place rather quickly, but I doubt that. The only problem I see with adding more and more abilities is that eventually the show will rely more and more on effects and some of the abilities I mentioned probably would not translate to TV well. Ahh but one can dream!

That predictation power is a fantastic idea. I also think a shapshifter is a good one, but it needs to be a hard thing to do. Not like Mystique but a painful process where we get to see someone in true pain.

They could also break apart SM/CK's powers and give different people, xray vision, laser eyes, breath and heck even let someone turn coal into a diamond. I guess flying and super earing is already covered.

What about superspeed.?

chrisxs5

That would be awesome to. But technically, if Hiro can slow time the he has it.

What about the power "Out of body"? Where someone can kind've send themselves places has a Ghostly Spirit.

Ooh, like Bullseye!

I think a cool power they haven't shown is earth manipulation. Someone who could control plants and rock. Kinda like Poison Ivy and that girl in Sky High.

I wonder if anyone can think of a completely original power. I cant seem to think of one.

Originality as far as powers go is very tough to come by. It just seems that everything has been done before in some form or another. Heroes does a very good job of breathing new life into well used powers and concepts.

I'd like to see how they handle a multiple man, a hero with the power to create multiple clones of him/herself .

How about multiple women, they could use the Olsen Twins.
