Well now we have the title to Harry Potter 7.
What intrigues me the most is that the date that Voldemort first attacked Harry may be very significant. There might be something special about Halloween

That is the seventh book name what do you think of it?>?
i think its ok itll have to do:D

I'm sure it will sound better once it's put into perspective. Since he said that he's going there, it's most likely got to do with Godric's Hallow and the fact that his parents died there.

Ya most likely....i would think it would sound better after the book comes out here is some more info on the book and what someone thinks bout the book:
Harrypotter.nl, the Dutch publisher of the Harry Potter books, has listed Harry Potter en het Fatale Heiligdom as the working title for Book 7. This is not the literal translation of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and translates as "Deadly Shrine," "Deadly Sanctuary" or "Deadly Saints." The literal Dutch translation of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows would be Harry Potter en de Dodelijke Heiligen.
has uncovered some interesting details concerning recent trademarks filed by a company named Field Fisher Waterhouse. Along with registering Deathly Hallows on December 5th, they also registered two more titles: Heart of Ravenclaw and Deadly Veil.
They are also thinkin that the book will come out July 7,2007
by the way its the seventh day of the seventh month of the seventh year....hint the book seventh book
Can't say I'm that bothered about the title, it'll all be about the quality of the book for me.

Ya i heard about that today too. I guess the 777 release date didnt work as wanted. Should boost sales for the movie.

So in the newest Entertainment Weekly columnist Stephen King (yes, that Stephen King!) talks about how he's all excited about book 7 coming out but he's sad at the same time because it's the end of the Harry Potter books (unless you believe J.K.'s 'never say never' line).
He articulates much better than me but basically I have to say he says how I feel.
Not too long ago a co-worker who loves HP as much as I do was talking to me about book 7 and she was surprised I wasn't more excited. I realized I usually am hopping with glee when a new book comes out but not with this one.
I started to wonder why.
I realized it was because, while I am looking forward to finding out how the story ends, part of me--a big part--doesn't want it TO end.
So as much as I am looking forward to book 7 I also don't want it to arrive because once that one is read and done and over there are no more.
Very bittersweet.
And after that realization was when Stephen gave his column.
Nice to know I'm not the only one feeling that way.

ya i feel the same way. once you get to that last page you wont want to read it cause you know when you do its over and over for good. its going to feel like a tv show you loved for so long finally ends after so many years and all you have are the reruns.
o well we have a week and a half till the final book is released. i hope its good. we still have 2 more movies to go so we can look forward to that seeing how they tend to work with it differently then the books but i guess it still wont be the same.

I like the name. I remember listening to the mugglenet podcast and they were saying something about the Deathly Hallows as being another name for the Horcruxes.
So it makes sense if the Deathly Hallows really are Horcruxes.
Also anyone see the news about the book? Apparently someone took photos of the pages of the Deathly Hallows. Now all over the net people are posting spoilers. It's horrible. I wish people would stop doing that.

Ya its sad people will go and ruin the book for everyone. I heard them say on the news that they may start randomly picking people who have downloaded the book and press charges agianst them to make an example. They said it wont matter if they are kids are not. Ogf course they probably wouldnt sew the kids just scare them a bit lol. Also on the news they are showing this real or unreal chapter pages and im like huh you say its wrong but yet you post them on the news. Like i read someone posted that these people who have time to take pictures and upload/download 800 pages probably have no life. Anyway i probably wont be online that much if at all cause im just going to read the book non stop. Some of the harry potter fan sites are closing too so no one can posts spoilers on there forums for the weekend.

there was this think i read somwhere i think mayb mugglenet that it will be impossible for a teen or an adult to read the book in a week...let me go find the thing
Book 7 has a surprising ending
So are the words of US audiobook narrator Jim Dale, in a new interview. A further extract:
“Deathly Hallows,” which runs to 784 pages in the ink-and-paper version, took about two and a half weeks, working six-and-a-half-hour days, recording about 18 to 20 pages an hour, to finish. As with the other books, Mr. Dale received the manuscript only two or three days before he was scheduled to begin recording.
“That makes it impossible for me to actually read it before recording it,” said Mr. Dale, who does not possess the 13-year-old megafan’s ability to inhale the book in a weekend.
So he read about 100 pages ahead, and noted all the different voices he needed for the first few days of recording. The benefit of reading in chunks, Mr. Dale said, is that: “I don’t ever know how the book is going to end so I can’t unconsciously lead you in the direction that the book is going. I don’t know who the villain is because I am just reading 100 pages at a time.”

07-20-2007, 05:30 AM
That's because that guy has to make a AUDIO BOOK. So every little detail/voice has to be done perfectly.
And i already know parts of the Epilogue. Some assh*le put everything in caps saying he wasn't going to put spoilers down, He did.
superhippie2000
07-20-2007, 08:15 AM
Ya im thinking its just because the guy may have needed to do voices and reread parts that the microphone didnt pick it.
Ya a bunch of jerks have been trying to spoil the book for people but there is no saying that those are real spoilers or not. The only way we will know is when we read the book for ourself. If you put all the deaths together from these spoilers it looks like everyone in the book is going to die which we know isnt going to happen so sure someone in that list of everyone will die but we already knew that lol. Its mostly just people speculating stuff and saying they are real spoilers. I say just dont watch tv or go online till your done with the book,
Tommorow is the day. Cant wait.

this is kinda off topic, but i think it's kinda funny how people like to read SV spoilers, but foam at the mouth at the prospect of HP spoilers. i guess it's different to go into a book spoiled then into a TV show.

I take Harry Potter more serious when it comes to spoilers. It's a book and a lot more things can spoil you then a tv show.

Did you read that story about 1200 copies being sent out early (a few days ago) from some online bookseller? And someone from a newspaper got hold of it and gave it to their book reviewer who reviewed it (complete with spoilers AND telling the ending!) in their paper.

Im at the part when harry finds his parents graves. The previous few chapters after they get the locket from umbridge(why couldnt she stay dead errr) when they are in the forest for like 3 months camping and stuff i found annoying cause they spend they whole time complaining about what they are going to do. parts are still informative tho. Those muggle/mudblood seats are creepy. its like damn it sounds canniballistic lol. I didnt realise they can talk thru their potronuses. found that interesting but i guess voldermort and the death eaters are intercepting owls too.
cant wait to see what happens next. i think i may read one or 2 chapters tonight then call it quits and start up tommorow. at the rate i read ill probably be done by early monday afternoon.

Spoilers below highlight cause the spoiler tags werent working had to use the beige color.
The scene where harry "died" and talked to dumbledore reminded me a bit of that episode of smallville where clark "died" and talked to mr kent. I pictured the scene with that same yellowish glow but of course not in the barn.ya lots of deaths. i think i counted 12 well atleast 12 that have been part of the previous books. 2 i felt bad for cause the were characters i liked and enjoyed there parts even tho they werent main. a couple of the others was sad to see gone too. the whole wand plotline confused me lol. i get it but trying to keep track of who has which wand was really crazy. Also the whole tent thing was kind of broing cause they really didnt do much but yell at each other for not finding the horxuces(sp) and yadda yadda. I really wished at the end they would have told what happened to harrys aunt uncle and cousin and where is harry living and the fates of the death eaters who have lived. im just going guess and say that has aunt and uncle are back safe in there house and harry is living at the place sirius left him or perhaps rebuilt the old family home and then the death eaters lost there marks but are still jerks and everything is pretty much back to normal.

i finished the book in 3 days.
the book was good, but i seriously could have done with out the epilogue. Seriouly, the dumbest thing i have ever read. I could care less if everyone got married to whoever. I wanted to know if they went back to hogwarts? what is a hogwarts graduation ceremony like? what careers did they all end up getting? what happened to the dursley's?
also, i didn't get why harry was still alive. because they both had protection? what?!
and i also am still under the impression that remus/tonks was the dumbest pairing ever and i am glad they died. that entire story line seemed forced and was extreemely stupid and pointless.

ya i agree the book was rushed at the end too. atleast one more chapter to give us and update on harrys aunt uncle and cousin and if they graduated and where harry is living.

I liked both the book and the ending. I wanted more, but that's how you're supposed to feel at the end of a good book. The epilogue really told me all I wanted to know that the last chapter didn't. And the epilogue was totally worth it for this name:

That's very nice and all, but I call BS on the last sentence. I hate that people don't realize the difference between "I wanted more" and "This sucks!!!!1211eleventy"
The epilogue did it's job, it showed us that things turned out alright, without going on for a hundred pages (it's an epilogue, not a whole new book).

If you found the epilogue of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” rather vague, then J.K. Rowling achieved her goal.
The author was shooting for “nebulous,” something “poetic.” She wanted the readers to feel as if they were looking at Platform 9¾ through the mist, unable to make out exactly who was there and who was not.
“I do, of course, have that information for you, should you require it,” she told TODAY’s Meredith Vieira rather coyly in her first interview since fans got their hands on the final book.
Ummm … yes, please!
Story continues below ↓
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rowling said her original epilogue was “a lot more detailed,” including the name of every child born to the Weasley clan in the past 19 years. (Victoire, who was snogging Teddy — Lupin and Tonks’ son — is Bill and Fleur’s eldest.)
“But it didn’t work very well as a piece of writing,” Rowling said. “It felt very much that I had crowbarred in every bit of information I could … In a novel you have to resist the urge to tell everything.”
But now that the seventh and final novel is in the hands of her adoring public, Rowling no longer has to hold back any information about Harry Potter from her fans. And when 14 fans crowded around her in Edinburgh Castle in Scotland earlier this week as part of TODAY’s interview, Rowling was more than willing to share her thoughts about what Harry and his friends are up to now.
Harry, Ron and Hermione
We know that Harry marries Ginny and has three kids, essentially, as Rowling explains, creating the family and the peace and calm he never had as a child.
As for his occupation, Harry, along with Ron, is working at the Auror Department at the Ministry of Magic. After all these years, Harry is now the department head.
“Harry and Ron utterly revolutionized the Auror Department,” Rowling said. “They are now the experts. It doesn’t matter how old they are or what else they’ve done.”
Meanwhile, Hermione, Ron’s wife, is “pretty high up” in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, despite laughing at the idea of becoming a lawyer in “Deathly Hallows.”
“I would imagine that her brainpower and her knowledge of how the Dark Arts operate would really give her a sound grounding,” Rowling said.
Harry, Ron and Hermione don’t join the same Ministry of Magic they had been at odds with for years; they revolutionize it and the ministry evolves into a “really good place to be.”
“They made a new world,” Rowling said.
The wizarding naturalist
Luna Lovegood, the eccentric Ravenclaw who was fascinated with Crumple-Horned Snorkacks and Umgubular Slashkilters, continues to march to the beat of her own drum.
“I think that Luna is now traveling the world looking for various mad creatures,” Rowling said. “She’s a naturalist, whatever the wizarding equivalent of that is.”
Luna comes to see the truth about her father, eventually acknowledging there are some creatures that don’t exist.
“But I do think that she’s so open-minded and just an incredible person that she probably would be uncovering things that no one’s ever seen before,” Rowling said.
Luna and Neville Longbottom?
It’s possible Luna has also found love with another member of the D.A.
When she was first asked about the possibility of Luna hooking up with Neville Longbottom several years ago, Rowling’s response was “Definitely not.” But as time passed and she watched her characters mature, Rowling started to “feel a bit of a pull” between the unlikely pair.
Ultimately, Rowling left the question of their relationship open at the end of the book because doing otherwise “felt too neat.”
Mr. and Mrs. Longbottom: “The damage is done.”
There is no chance, however, that Neville’s parents, who were tortured into madness by Bellatrix Lestrange, ever left St. Mungo’s Hospital for Magical Maladies.
“I know people really wanted some hope for that, and I can quite see why because, in a way, what happens to Neville’s parents is even worse than what happened to Harry’s parents,” Rowling said. “The damage that is done, in some cases with very dark magic, is done permanently.”

Rowling said Neville finds happiness in his grandmother’s acceptance of him as a gifted wizard and as the new herbology professor at Hogwarts.
The fate of Hogwarts
Nineteen years after the Battle of Hogwarts, the school for witchcraft and wizardry is led by an entirely new headmaster (“McGonagall was really getting on a bit”) as well as a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. That position is now as safe as the other teaching posts at Hogwarts, since Voldemort’s death broke the jinx that kept a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor from remaining for more than a year.
While Rowling didn’t clarify whether Harry, Ron and Hermione ever return to school to finish their seventh year, she did say she could see Harry popping up every now and again to give the “odd talk” on Defense Against the Dark Arts.
More details to come?
Rowling said she may eventually reveal more details in a Harry Potter encyclopedia, but even then, it will never be enough to satisfy the most ardent of her fans.
“I’m dealing with a level of obsession in some of my fans that will not rest until they know the middle names of Harry’s great-great-grandparents,” she said. Not that she’s discouraging the Potter devotion!
“I love it,” she said. “I’m all for that.”

I no that Albus Sirius Severus Potter would be a long name but still they could of mentioned sirius

Maybe they could have taken a hatchet, and hacked the "Severus" out of poor Albus's name, and replaced it with Sirius? I don't know.. Albus is a pretty dumb name too. All his kids are named after dead people.

*SPOILERS*
But taking out the Severus part of his name misses the entire point. The two people that were basically looking after him the whole time, no matter what they did that might have seemed to the contrary, had their names combined.

The epilogue was confusing. Not necessarily in a bad way, since Rowling was going for that "mist-like" effect, but I was having trouble figuring out who was talking to who and who was getting on the train and stuff.
Oh, let me just go ahead and say it: damn, they had a lot of kids!
I personally am thrilled that J.K. Rowling chose not to cram all the information about Harry and Ron becoming Aurors and what happened to the wizard in purple robes who sat three rows behind Neville in Herbology class. Showing what happened immediately after defeating Voldemort ("immediately" as in the following days or a couple of weeks) wouldn't have hurt, but thrusting us 19 years into the future without filling the gaps was not a deterrent. I think that was one of the best parts of the novel.
At the same time, I'm not entirely satisfied with the "future". I'm glad Harry didn't die, but everything simply seemed to fit so neatly into place. Harry married Ginny, Ron married Hermione, they all had kids named after people they knew, and their kids went to Hogwarts. I don't think that would really have happened. It's an ending any fan could have fantasized in their head.
But for what it's worth, there are a million worse way it could have ended, not the least of which would have been Rowling spending another five hundred pages detailing what happened in their futures.
For avoiding that, I salute her. Doing that would have deprived true fans the fun to fill in the gaps themselves.

I like the fact that she didn't decide to cram everything into the epilouge and I like how she will answer all the questions that we have, hopefully, with the interviews she participates in and the encyclopedia that she will make. Eventulay.

Doby had to die:(.. He was a great house-elf, no one liked the ending because people wanted the book to keep going.. I wanted the book to keep going, but atleast it ended happily ever after:D..
Lupin and Tonks died:( I love the word snogging, hahaha I'm going to use that saying now. So many people died in the book, I can't wait for the movies to come out:D YES!

I must say, I think one of my favorite characters in this book was Snape. Throughout the whole series you just couldn't figure out where he stood but at the end he was just really brave and great and I can't get over it. It made me cry when Harry was in the pensieve and Snape was crying in Dumbledore's office after he conjured Lily's/His patronus.

^ Yes I love Snape, I thought he was an A$$ for killing dumbledore and I hated him.. My friend read Deathly hollows before me and she said, "Well you'll understand why Snape did it."
Snape really loved Harry..and ofcourse Lily.. But James was a mean guy to him. So Snape's Potronus was Lily?

Yeah. It was Lily's patronus I'm pretty sure. But I'll go back and read it to make sure.

I just read and I was sad too. One thing though... I saw the Snape 'redemption' coming from the moment he killed Dumbeldore. It was still a good scene, but it was pretty predictable.

The link was to the story Jo wrote where she had wrote it and did the illustrations and only made about 6 copies to give out to friends and one to auction off. It was the story that Dumbledore gave to Hermione in Book 7, so it was a bit of a Potter tie in.
Though Jo is reportedly working on a new book that has nothing to do with the Potterverse.

A friend of mine recently finally read Deathly Hallows and said he was really confused by the last chapter (the flash forward) and all the new names. He said he had to stop and figure out who belonged with/to whom.
