Lex is constantly harping on Clark for no longer being a welcomed guest in the mansion, yet Clark is almost always brought into Lex's study/library by a security guard.
You'd think with all the security guards Lex has, he would be informed of Clark's presence before Clark enters the room.
If Lex is so unhappy with Clark being in his mansion, why does he allow his security guards to walk him to Lex's study? Why doesn't Lex just say "Don't let him in"?

Good point. But i think he still wants to see Clark bcause he likes their friction.Telling Clark that he's not welcome makes him feel like he's in control.
IMO deep inside I think he knows he can't keep Clark out and has accepted it as part of it being associated with Clark's special condition.

I think based on Lexmas, Lex still wants Clark in his life. He has a open hatred toward him but deep down he misses him. Unlike Lexmas, Lex didn't make the right decision that would keep a friendship with Clark and even Chloe. All he has is Lana, and he really doesn't even have her. So on some level he allows Clark to come in just so he can have some kind of connection to him, even if it's negative. Kind of the same basis of his relationship to Lionel.

I think it's something like that. When Clark came into Lex's study before this episode, we could assume that he was superspeeding past security, but now that we've seen security actually escort him in, we know that Lex wants him there. If Lex's confessed reason in "Vessel" for trying to wreck Clark's life was revenge, then he wants to see that he's having an effect. Plus, it allows him to keep tabs on what Clark knows, since there aren't too many people standing up to the Luthors these days.
