Chubby Lex?

Alot of people have been saying Lex has let himself go. The thing is I just can't see it. To me, he looks the same as he did in the previous seasons.

Can someone post some screen shots of Lex in the prvious season and ones from this season and elaborate on it?


Also, out of all the Smallville seaons when did Lex seem to look like he was in his best physical shape?

MR has always seemed to be in fairly good shape. He's an ectomorph rather than TW's mesomorph build, so MR will probably never be big like TW is, but he's always been pretty toned and kept a low body fat rate.

he definitely had a beer belly in that greenhouse scene in...I think it was 'wither'. Anyway, the epi with the Gloria girl.

What percentage body fat do you think he has?


How did he get a low body fat rate? Are there cetain foods and exercises you have to do?

I noticed Lex's slightly fuller face in "Rage". It was particularly obvious in the scene where he and Ollie had a confrontation and Ollie skewered him with an arrow.

MR could be ripped though if he wanted to. Remember he was mostly half naked in that eppie wherein he got stranded in a deserted island? He looked good there and MR admitted in an interview that he worked out like hell before shooting that eppie.

I think he'd have trouble putting on serious mass. He's definitely been in great shape on the show, such as the episodes where he's seen less than fully clothed. I read an interview with him where he said that upon conclusion of filming for one such episode, he went and got a family size bucket of KFC to celebrate.

But he could never put on the mass that Tom Welling could. He just doesn't have the body type or metabolism to support it. Even if he took steroids, his max size would only be so big. He has much more of a distance runner's frame.

You're right he will never have TW's mass. He's naturally on the lean side. But if he works out he can have some definition. That's what I meant :)

I think he has a fat head. in fact, i was just thinking that yesterday when i was watching that episode. i thought to myself, "my, what a fat bald head that man has."

I think lately Lex has been looking "chubbier" because of the camera angles.
When shooting a TV show or movie, to show someone has authority or power over others, you lower the camera beneath them, so the shot is looking up at them.

And by doing it, it makes people look like the have 3 chins or chubby cheeks, when they really don't.

You can see this especially in movies like The Godfather and Resevior Dogs.


It's hard to say when Lex has been in his best physical shape, because he rarely takes his clothes off.
Clark, on the other hand, is looking gigantic this season. I think season 6 has been his best, muscle-wise.

MR is almost 35 years old, his metabolism is starting to slow down. He's gonna put on some weight. Personally, I think he's starting to look older than he is fatter.

THANK GOD I wasn't alone in noticing a FULER Lex this season. I mentioned it to my wife and said Lex is putting on some weight. It shows mostly in his face, becasue in the last episode, there was a great profile, and his waist and stomache still seem very flat, but in his face...it's more filled out than before.

What do you think could be causing weight gain in his face only?

I'm another who just doesn't see it. He looks the same as always. Just as with the rest of the cast his body is in perfectly healthy shape (well, okay, Kristin's body is probably far too thin, but that's another topic.) Calling someone like Lex chubby is the same as calling any girl that doesn't look like a supermodel "chubby". It's perpetuating the stereotype that you have to be perfect and way too skinny to be attractive, IMO.
