Tom Welling directed, didn't he? If so, he did a phenomenal job with the visuals and made a really intriguing, emotional episode. Welling always handles his material really well. He can take an episode like this that could, if in the wrong director's hands, be a potentially run-of-the-mill freak-of-the-week episode, and he makes it intriguing through how he directs and brings emotion to it.

Ma Kent jumping into the barn screaming "YOU'RE NOT GOING ANYWHERE!"

Jimmy and Clark scene jimmy all like "i know how yah feel...BUT IM YOUR BRO NOT YOUR FOE." was HILARIOUS. Clark and CHloe's reactions were amazing too.

Jimmy telling Chloe Clark's madly in love with her and Chloe's like ummm. no not possible.

Bada$$ Lex at the end sequence. AMESOME.

Oh, wow. I thought I read somewhere that the reason he was barely in "Static" was because he was prepping for this one. Whoever directed this one, then, did an extraordinary job. One worthy of Welling. It really reminded me of Welling's job last year on "Fragile," one of those episodes filled with heart.

In this order,

1 - The previews for upcoming episodes and especially the line, "Let's go save the world".
2 - The look on Lex's face when Lana told him, she wanted to help the immigrants.
3 - Clark's face when Jimmy told him to "ring his bell".
4 - Martha telling Clark he wasn't going anywhere(too bad that line was wasted and non-meaningful). I thought she delivered the line so powerfully but it went nowhere. Very disapppointing.
5 - Lex's final walk out of 33.1

Yea, the ending was awesome, and the previews even better. It's too bad they don't focus on 33.1 more throughout an episode.:(

Not sure what part of this episode leads one to believe that the end of Chimmy and the beginning of Chlark is on the horizon. I really do not see any romantic tones to the Chlark relationship. I see them more like brother and sister. At this point I think having a Chlark relationship would be pointless and it would not do Chloe any justice. She would just end up getting hurt again.

Chlark is always just under the surface in every scene that TW and AM are in together.. they have such amazing chemistry. The writers know this and have played that up for 5 years now.. for me, I think that Clark and Chloe need to have a chance for a romantic relationship. Some of the best love stories started with the two involved being friends first.. we know he ends up with Lois but Chloe could be quite a delightful detour!!! :)

The previews to the next few episodes looked great. With all the heroes walking with Clark in the middle, classic.

Yeah, from the previews I was expecting this episode to be focused on 33.1. I was kind of dissapointed that they only showed a few minutes of it.

One thing that kind of bothers me, with all of those FOTWs that Lex has, wouldn't some of them be able to break through the prison he has for them?
