View Full Version : Worse episode ever

Ok I wasn't a fan of Static.

But it's ok I said to myself: they have others episodes to fill with a good story so lets give them a chance.

But this episode is a big NO. No no and no!!!!!! (With all my heart)

One of the worse Smallville epi I ever watched. Seriously this episode didn't mean a thing. Even with the lexana. Ho yeah she left to go to a sort of a charity thing... this explain why we didn't see a lot from her during the show.... wwwrrong (Borat way) lol Writers didn't know what to do with this episode so they did that crap.

This is a night to forget. Period. Sisters and brothers keep faith. Even if the producers finaly did this episode... the one we were fearing...(crap crap crap) one day (maybe the next half season) we gonna have THE show we are waiting for! Amen (lol Amen to my own commentary) This truly expres how I feel about Smallville on thursday December 7.

TPTB got the job done with this episode. Was the plot amazing and suspenseful? No. But we saw two lexana scenes and a whole host of Clark scenes. We also got to see Lex's evil walk at the end, which he does need to work on, but a solid episode. This wasn't as bad as Static and Wither, not even close, IMO.

I thoought this episode was MILES better then Static, and more enjoyable to me then Wither.

Not one of SV's best, to be certain. But a decent episode with an AWESOME Clark. And I don't think AWESOME Clark episodes can ever be considered "the worst". IMO

Agree!! I wish Lana could have an extended vacation in Amsterdam. Or a permanent one made possible by Lionel rearranging Lex's priorities.

I guess after Static I was just thankful to see Clark in majority of the episode to the point that I wasn't even focused on how filler this eppy was until I got a fanboy boner from the Justice episode teaser at the end.

I liked how he helped out so much in this one. He didn't rely on Chloe as his brain, but as a partner, which was great. He did his own investigation and shows that he really matured. I also loved how he didn't buckle against Lana. I thought I saw a smirk on his face after he told her off.

just when I thought I couldn't see any worse of an episode, then I watch subterranean. this stood for beneath crap. wow people. I mean, wow, wow, wow. If I showed Smallville to anyone that has never seen it, they'd think I was a joke.

and notice how the ending is rendered meaningless. that means the shark has been jumped and this show is toast.

the previews looked like we're gonna get a team of bumbling special ed kids.

I agree that the main plot of this episode was crap - the illegal immigrants, freak of the week, etc.

But the little things around the plot made this episode good - Lex and 33.1, Clark standing up to Lana, Clark in the episode for more than 3 mintues, etc.

Agreed. This episode wasn't about a strong plot. It was about the character growth in Clark. We saw so much of a stronger Clark in this episode than we really have in a while. He didn't just take charge, but he stood up for what he thought was right, even to his mother. His parents in the past have guided him away from acting emotionally and erratically; they've shown him the way when he was lost. This time Martha thought that was happening again, but Clark stood strong, because he knew he was right.

Then he even acted somewhat outside the law for the greater good. He had to harbor a fugitive (technically) in order to bring down a slave trading ring. This is a VERY Supermanish topic, one I'm glad was addressed on SV.

Honestly, I don't think the freak of the week was necessary at all. I think this could have been done more effectively if there had been no superpowered baddie involved.

Regardless, I don't think this was the best episode ever, but I liked it. Better than many this season. It wasn't perfect, but it had more than its share of redeaming aspects.

I love smallville. I love all of it, iv been collecting comics since i was a kid and watching this show from the very start. And i am a very americanized mexican american, and at times i can even claim that i dont feel that connected to my own heritage, atleast in how its viewed by the majority. yet even I was offended by occurences in this episode.

first and foremost:

"A motorist saw a young latino boy run across the highway. he might be an undocumented worker. can we search your property" said the officer

Translation:

We saw a mexican kid cross the street. Obviously, since hes mexican and in Kansas we have reason to beleive hes a illeagal and are now searching for him with in the area. We thought, hey, why not check out the senator's place.

secondly:

Mexican boy runs away. Mexican boy jumps onto the back of the first moving vehicle he sees.... which inexplicably happens to be a garderning truck? What the hell?

i just mean. when did that become okay. i udnerstand the story, and the need for certain devices. but you didnt have to make everything so generic. im a bit dissapointed. I was half expecting to hear that clark needed to find the boy quickly, because he was also carrying fragile baloons filled with coke inside of him.

Oh. Also, one last note:

Chloe was looking hot as heck this ep

I definitely thought this was the worst this season, and one of the worst all time. This is truly the first time I have ever been tempted to just skip parts of the episode because they were so bad. The plot was just garbage and even the acting wasn't great, IMO. The only thing that made me feel better was the preview of the next few eps. at the end. I'm so excited for Justice (where was M.M. though?).

I agree for it to be a filler epi it still got sum points across,it wasn't action pack but good. And a good setup for level 33.1/possible tension within certain ships etc.It was a setup epi so it wasn't bad it serve its purpose imo

NeoSuperman, bring on the Star Wars - Superman crossover fans! :D

i'm still waiting to fully watch the episode but since it doesn't have lexana and instead has clark maturing...how can it be bad?

people have been complaining about this show becoming Lexanaville, GreenArrowville, whatever. 'bout time we got some more screentime for our main character.

This episode was hardly excellent. Regardless, it wasn't nearly as putrid as Static was. At the very least, Clark, the center of this show, helped those beyond his own family and friends. He did begin to fulfill his mission to help those in need.

It was a stupid FOTW episode but with a twist: it tied together level 33.1 at the right time to adjust the Smallville community for the great episodes (like Justice) ahead. Or so we hope.

No. Static still the worst episode ever. Static is actually one of the worst episodes ever on television. I don't even think a Power Ranger episode was as bad as Static.

dare I say this episode IS truly worse than static. didn't think it was possible, honestly. but Smallville is making a point of sinking lower against itself than any show ever. REALLY.

While certainly not a "good" episode, I wouldn't go so far as to say it is the worst. Yeah, the illegal immigrant thing was pointless for this show. And Clark's defense that he was an illegal alien was lame. The place he came from freakin' EXPLODED. And he was adopted by legal citizens. Martha should have hit him with something made out of kryptonite for trying to say he was also "illegal."

Anyways, for a guy with x-ray vision and super-hearing, he must be really dumb and oblivious not to notice the killing going on at a nearby farm.

The ending was suprisingly "good." Did it make this episode "good"? Hell no. But it helped. Even without the ending though, I still wouldn't call this the worst episode. I seem to recall a girl that sucked fat from animals and people, and another involving Clark and Lana's "baby" aging rapidly only to explode at the end. And let's not forget Static. The episode in which Clark's only purpose was to be saved by the Martian Manhunter. And let's not forget Jimmy's stunt with the radio.

This episode sucked (other than the end), but it can't top those episodes I listed in terms of suckiness.

<<S>>
12-08-2006, 06:37 AM
Yeah I have to admit I thought the highlight of the show was the ending with the AFI song, and Lex. And Clark and Lana trading subtle insults, but other than that this episode seemed like a filler to me.

98chase
12-08-2006, 06:58 AM
I swear, you just can't win with some fans. Fans say that season 6 is sucking, that there isn't enough Clark. According to those same fans, season 6 is of no comparison to seasons 1 & 2. Those two seasons are far better.

Then TPTB switch it up and give you an episode that is not only Clark centered, but it has a FOTW JUST LIKE seasons 1 and 2. This episode was screaming "Hey everyone, look. I'm identical to seasons 1 and 2." I don't have a problem with that. The episode was decent. Wasn't overly suspenseful. But, the episode wasn't boring and the ending was spectacular. Fact of the matter is, fans got what they were asking for with this episode. But, as is too common, someone gets what they want and it still isn't good enough.

On the plus side, there was a lot of Clark. On the negative side, Clark was acting very emotionally. He showed little maturity (standing up to his Mom does not make him mature, kids stand up to their parents all the time). On the whole, it was a filler episode which did not entertain me that much. The reference to 33.1 at the end was the only worthwhile part.

98 chase, i agree with you these "fans" always complain after every episode there is always at least worst epidsode ever thread. It's so annoying i thought this episode was decent. it was the worst ever but it was alright. It had continuity in it with the plant lady, and with mcnally saying sorry to hear about your father. It also had that amazing ending with lex. It was a pretty good episode i thought.

I dont y i liked the episode the only hated scene for me wat the scene where Clark and Lana come face to face.....but overall i liked it Writers took the problem of illegal immigrants and tried to create a differnt diversion with it so i would say i liked it and the Walk at the end was chilling wid the Justice and Hydro trailers as well!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't understand how some people here can justify Subterranean being a good episode just because it had "a lot of Clark scenes." Clark has been equally heroic here as he has been in other episodes, without being overly preachy as he was. Also, is anyone else tired of the Clark-befriending-a-kid storyline? There's been Ryan, Justin, exploding baby from Ageless, Maddie and now Havier. Enough already! However, I did like the ending--it was the best part--but could have been tacked on to the ending of any episode. I hate it when the writers stick on an awesome ending to a completely worthless episode.

See again before this episode you're saying that clark isn't in the episode a lot and now you're saying who cares if he was in the whole episode you people are such hypocrites and impossible to please. But yet when an episode is Clark centered ppl still sit and b**ch and moan about how lame the episode was. It gets old real fast. I thought it was a good episode for it to be a filler. It kept me entertained.

Son of Kal-El20

^That is true. Like the episode with Raya. It actually served a purpose in the storyline and moved the plot along and everyone said it was the worst episode ever. And yet, Green Arrow's episode which brought nothing new to the table and didn't move the plot along at all got all the praise. In other words, I think Gough and crew aren't putting Clark related episodes in the season because no one likes the episodes dealing with his journey to becoming Superman. They do like GA's story.

I can't say this is the worse. I am enjoying the season so far and if I had to go with a worse it would be "Wither". Actually, plant girl would win least favorite zoner if anything IMHO. After Clark rounds up all the zoners, we will need a favorite zoner poll. Nospam are you listening?
One would have to leave out Raya though. It would throw the whole thing off for me. What I really would want to know is who everyone thought was the best of the baddest zoners.

I agree 100% with the top of this thread. Every part of this episode was dissappointing on a whole new level. The story was horrible, and the ending did nothing to make up for it. How many times will people be "surprised" that Lex is keeping meteor freaks and studying them. I'm wondering how many different ways they can film the same realization. The villain was horrible. A villain that can "displace minerals"!!....the only way they could top that is if they came up with something like an alien plant woman that could only be killed by electricity........ Oh and what a final fight!! Baddie pulls Clark into the ground, bad actor guest star looks all intense and worried for 30 seconds, baddie comes flying out of ground knocked out....must be saving budget on special effects for the justic league episode. Then I actually fought with Clark through the TV when he got out of the ground: "No, no, don't do it, Clark, please don't pick up the chain and hand it to him with that goofy little "see, there's hope in this world yet" smile." On a more global note, I loved Lana and Clark way back when, Lana has slowly lost favor with me over the years, I officially hate her this season, and now I'm really hoping they kill her off or something because she's starting to drag Lex's character into the gutter with her. There was plenty more horribleness in this episode, but I'll only say one more thing. The music was just awful, and no I'm not talking about AFI because them being horrible goes without saying. Did anyone else find the music for the rest of the episode to be horribly misplaced and excessive. For some reason they created this eerie eeriness with the mood music through the whole episode. Clark could have been eating a tasty PB&J and the music would have made it seem like the sandwich was going to come alive and try to attack him.....and judging by the way the rest of the episode was going, I half expected something that ridiculous to happen. Don't get me wrong, I'll be back watching the next episode and the next until they're done because I love the show's concept, but it would be nice to actually enjoy the show in the meantime....hopefully Tom Welling can pull something good together out of the mess of a script I'm sure he's working with next episode. Wow this was long......sorry, it's my first time.
