lana's character has been turning a blind eye to Lex. She tells Clark that at least Lex doesn't lie to her and there have been many chances she could have caught him in a lie if she went further. but money and power can blind many people. like tonight's episode, I know she was gone for most of the episode, but reading the paper might have given her a hint Luthor Corp. had something to do with it. And the Lana from previous seasons knew that Lex knew everything going on in his companies. 'Love', if you can call it that, is turning her head from the truth and what she has known from the first 5 seasons about him. Or maybe 54 concussions has wiped out that memory.

Lana should be put in 33.1. IIRC, she had temporary powers at some point. When that kryptonite gas line or whatever exploded next to her, allowing her to see the future.

I really don't see how people can come to the conclusion that Lana is somehow an idiot or stupid. Think about previous seasons...I really cannot think of any time of real significance that Lana would think Lex is evil. Clark (and by extension Chloe) knows what Lex is all about but how would Lana know. The writers are not letting Lana know anything so of course she would give someone the benefit of the doubt. I think this will be the major issue in the second half of the season which when it finally comes out into the open will change the dynamic of the show from here on out. I do think the writers will eventually have Lana find out everything and reconcile with Clark. But at this point I guess the writers feel this creates more drama and to further show how far Lex will go.

Uh, dude. Remember the Season 4 finale when she saw that Lex only cared about the Kryptonian crystals and not her safetly as much? Remember how she barely even spoke to Lex for the first few Season Five episodes because she didn't trust him and thought he was evil?

The only way he wooed her into submission was with including her in studying the Zod Ship.

Agreed. She is so self involved, she has no intuition about other people whatsoever. I've said this before, but Al & Miles' biggest problem with Lana is that in Superman continuity, Ms. Lang has always been left behind. Like it or not, she doesn't move forward into Clark's future. So, the issue then becomes, "How do you integrate a character into the mythology who ultimately doesn't fit?" For over five seasons, the various writers always bear that question in mind. As a result, her stories often appear to suffer, until they're eventually resolved.

Yeah, I wasn't bashing Lana, at all. The whole point in that was showing that TPTB are setting that relationship up to fail. They are laying all the ground work to end it.

Lana knows quite well what Lex is like deep down. Remember she asked Chloe to investigate him and said she knew or thought he was was hiding something. Then when Chloe brought the info she pushed it away, saying she didn't want to or couldn't know anything else (because she was pregnant). Lana is jsut in denial, griping at Clark if he beings it up but knowing he's actually right.

The truth is, Lana doesn't mind because it brings her more of what she's always had (worship, adoration, privelege as the Pink Princess of Smallville) and likes. She pretends she wants to be her own girl but really she just wants to ensure her claim to those priveleges. As we saw and she plainly pointed out in this ep.

i disagree. the character is completely blind and stupid. she tries her best to hang out to someone and see things their way so she wont be alone until she gets to see with her own eyes that she was wrong.

the character is retarded. im sick of the whole lana not believing chloe and clark thing because she doesnt want to be alone. this is my prediction...shes gonig to say no to lex and then after crimson or on crimson because of what clark might say to her she'll say yes to him just to tick clark off. she doesnt even love lex she loves herself but doesnt think she should be alone because she thinks she should be put on a pedestal. aint no p**** that good.

Or she herself is a big liar and this whole pregnancy thing is a sham (meaning she lied to Chloe and Lex). Notice how they never showed what the doctor told her and only saw/heard what she told Chloe. For all we know, the doctor could have said she was completely OK.
