yeah, no underground fight? no saving Javier from the clutches of the moleman? seemed a little anticlimactic to me.

why have a big fight, he was nothing compared to Clarks power as we saw it took him a second to beat him.

I was very disappointed with that "fight" ... if you can call it that.

My thoughts exactly. I don't get why people were even expecting a fight in a filler episode that was more about emotions than it was about action.

I think Trevor and Midgard got it pretty much right. This show is not supposed to be 40 minutes of building up to a fight, 10 minutes of fight, and 10 minutes of fight resolution. If it were, I'd have stopped watching years ago. There is a lot more to SV, and to Clark's development into Superman, than him fighting different people each week.

I thought the fight scene was actually pretty clever on the part of the show's creators. For budget reasons alone, they can't have Zod style action each week. They were able to work in a unique conflict that we haven't seen before. And on top of that, we saw some more Superman-like behavior out of Clark, something I think is much more important than super-fights.

Anyway, not a great episode in my opinion, but I had no problem with the fight scene. This villain wasn't an action villain. If anything, his whole purpose was more as a plot device to move the rest of the show forward.

It's funny... if clark gets b!tchslapped, people complain. If clark b!tchslaps someone else, people complain. If there is a credible fight between clark and his foe... guess what... people complain.

wraith808 every single fight on SV has been rather dissapointing. The Zod one was supposed to be a good one but it lasted like 20 seconds and clark won with that jewel he didn't even fight back.

Fight scenes in smallville are just lame.

Have you thought that there's a reason for this? Noone's on his level. Zod was more powerful- more in control of his abilities. Most people are a lot less powerful. They don't really have what a lot of fighting based shows do- a fight choreographer. And the JK vs CK fight scenes wasn't disappointing to me...

Kill him? Nonsense. Clark just threw the old guy thirty feet in the air, let him crashland and walked off without checking if he was still alive.

Yup, Sherriff Adams would not have let him get away with that.
Reckless endangerment, even if it was in self defence, it wouldn't hold up in court.
Clark is near invunerable, Digger wasn't, when Digger was not responsive, Clark by law has a duty to summon assistence.

im not surprised the fight ended that way...smallville seems incapable of actually doing a good fight scene

SV fight scenes have been hit or miss. IMO Clark hasn't had a good drag down knock em out fight yet. He does do a mean grab & toss or push,as for a b-slap..i'm really waiting 4 that one.
overall i was dissappointed in the quick resolve with the farmer McNally. And the fact that he went into the ground in front of the cops and the place wasn't closed off.
is it bcause of budget cuts?

the only punch/B-slap he's thrown was when he(dawn) took the crown from Chloe.

it's not really a surprise when almost every fotw fight lasts just about the same amount of time. check back to almost all filler episodes and you'll see. Maybe it could have lasted if dirt man burrowed Clark to China er something. lol...ah but i don't think so....
