The weird part was Clark was not moaning and whining, looking like a hurt puppy. I know he was hurting but there are people who need his help. Suck it up, and save the world. Work through the pain. (the last two statements was slightly sarcastic)

Just keep in mind that this is the story of Clark's journey to becoming Superman, eh scratch that: this is the story of Clark's painfully slow journey to becoming Superman, which has to be dragged out for another season or two.

Clark is a little less whiny than we've seen, and he doing a good job of ignoring Lana. I think he may be due for some Lana related angst. Smallville is partly a soap opera, after all.
