What's with the creepy music/sound effects they kept using during the Lexana convo? I kept waiting for someone/something to jump out of the closet!

I caught that too! It sounded like a spaceship was starting up or something. Very out of place.

yeah that music was weird, it didn't go at all with the scene, maybe they're trying to create a feeling of awkwardness whenever they are together.

I completely agree!!
They were having such a sweet, cute talk about going to Amsterdam and being all nice and cuddly .... and the music was that of a horror movie!
I found it very weird.

It seems they always have that creepy music during lexana interaction. And it was so weird they had music going on the background for almost every scene.
I actually really liked the music in this episode, especially the music in the last scene with Lex in level 33.1, creepy yet cool

Mark Snow does the music for just about every television show I can think of. He's the man. Speaking of, I saw an interview with him a few years back. He may have been joking, but he said that he'd actually written lyrics for the X-Files theme. They are (according to him, a seemingly trustworthy sorce lol):
"You are watching a show,
With music by Mark Snow"
::repeat
I found that amusing.
Now, regarding SV's music tonight... I thought the end scene was great. But the Lexana music was odd. It was so odd I imagine they MUST have intended that. Maybe they're trying to imply that Lexana's future is doomed, that Lana's casting Lex in the wrong light? Interpretting his sociopathic tendancies in a positive manner? That sort of contradiction could parallell their relationship and the music choice. It's a stretch, but it's the best I have on that matter.

I think its supposed to make their relationship seem mysterious and dark, but it ends up making their relationship seem like a bad horror movie.
