Tom Welling is handsome as each Season of Smallville comes along. My favorite 3rd Season of Smallville are:

1) Perry (Tom Welling and Michael Mckean are hilarious together). Perry White was humorous as a drunk, and as usual, Clark Kent comes to his rescue when Perry's car smashes into a telephone pole.

2) Shattered: The best part of this episode is when Clark comes to Lex's rescue by pushing Lex out of the way and splits the vehicle in two, right in front of Lex. The funniest part is when Lex says to Clark, "I was right about you all along Clark. You're not even human." Clark is speechless.

3) Relic (my favorite scene is when Jorel/Clark lifts Louise/Lana up in the air).

4) Hereafter: Clark comes to the rescue of a teenaged boy who can see the future death of anyone who touches him. Clark lifts up the boy and carries him over his shoulder, as they leave a burning building. Clark also gives the boy CPR and saves his life.

My favorite Season 3 episodes are:

EPISODES: Exile, Phoenix, Delete, Resurrection and Forsaken

1) Exile:

One of my favorite Clark Kent lines in Exile is this quote: Clark: Thanks. But I'm really not looking for work right now. I like to fly solo. (I think this is an ironic quote, since Clark Kent hasn't learned how to fly, yet).

Lionel: Trust me, it was right here. It disappeared the same day as that ... inexplicable explosion on the Kent farm. The same day that our young friend Clark went into exile. (That quote, too, is ironic, because Lionel Luthor mentions the title of this episode which is "Exile").

Then Chloe Sullivan mentions the word "Exile" to Clark Kent, which is clever, since Chloe always has a way with words and has some of the best Smallville lines: "Chloe: Clark, you were not forced into exile. You ran away from your problems. You are not being noble, you're being a coward!"

The best part of Exile is when Jonathan Kent sacrifices his body and heart to bring his son, Clark back home. So Jonathan Kent has a heart to heart talk with Jor-El:

Jonathan: He wasn't ready! But you, you had to keep pushing him anyway, didn't you? What kind of a race are you people? No wonder you destroyed yourselves. Aaah!
Jor-El: I am Jor-El, the true father of Kal-El.
Jonathan: His name is Clark Kent! I am his father, I raised him.
Jor-El: You have fulfilled your function in Kal-El's destiny.
Jonathan: His destiny is whatever he makes of it.
Jor-El: His destiny is too great for you to comprehend. This was Kal-El's first test to see if he was ready to begin his journey.
Jonathan: He's too young! He needs more time!
Jor-El: This phase of Kal-El's journey is almost complete. It will be of no consequence if he returns to you ... for now.
Jonathan: You'll bring him home?
Jor-El: If you want him, you must retrieve him yourself.
Jonathan: I can't. He's too powerful.
Jor-El: Are you willing to sacrifice anything to get him back?
Jonathan: Yes! For my son I'll do anything.
Jonathan: Aaah! Aaah!

2) Phoenix:

What I liked about Phoenix was the Clark & Jonathan relationship: Clark feels bad for his Dad sacrificing his body to bring Clark back home. Clark tells his Mom that whatever Jor-El did to his Dad, must have been too much for his father's body to handle. Jonathan answers Clark back, "The important thing is that Clark is back home with us now." Clark asks his father Jonathan, "You made a deal with Jor-El, didn't you?" Mr. Kent answers Clark, "Clark, the most important thing right now is that my son has his life back." Clark answers back, "I'm not sure I want it back. And being Kal-El, I could just do whatever I wanted. It was like this huge weight had been lifted off me." Jonathan tells Clark, "Look, I'm not saying that staying is going to solve all your problems, but at least this way we can face it together as a family."

I love Clark & Chloe relationship. Clark comes into the Torch to say thank you to Chloe. He tells Chloe, "I gave you no reason to stand by me. But you knew where I was all Summer and didn't tell anyone."
Chloe answers Clark back, "Well, that's what friends do for each other, Clark." (Indeed, they are such great friends! One day Chloe even told Clark that he's her BFF, which means Best Friends Forever).

I also liked Clark & Lex's friendship in Phoenix. They hug each other after Clark says, "Lex!" and Lex answers Clark, "Three months on a deserted island was almost worth it to see the look on your face right now." Lex tells Clark about what went on while he was on the island, and Clark tells Lex, "Lex, I guess we all got to take a look at our dark side sooner or later."
Then Lex buys the Kent Farm back, so the Kents won't have to sell their farm. Lex tells Martha & Jonathan Kent that after his plane went down, the compass Jonathan gave Lex as a wedding gift, guided Lex to a safe harbor. Lex: The lease I can do is help you keep your farm. Jonathan Kent was very appreciative of Lex and said, "We will find a way to pay you back," and Lex answers, "If it's not too presumptuous, I hope you'll just consider me as part of the family." This was a great episode.

3) Delete:

The thing that I like about Delete is when they mention Chloe's cousin for the first time: Lois Lane. Then Lois Lane comes along during the 4th season of Smallville.

Adam: Remind me again what your school mascot is. Oh... wait, it's a bird.

Lana: Okay, it's a small town. We take our school spirit very seriously.
(What I like about this scene between Adam & Lana is when they show the Crow with a Superman suit with an "S" on it. This reminds me of Clark Kent a.k.a, Superman. It's Superman in disguise. Ha! Ha! I love that scene).

My favorite Chloe Sullivan quote from Delete are these 2 quotes. She always has a way with words:

Chloe: Yeah. I can't believe you got us suspended. Thankfully, Adam was there. Those were some really nice moves. What was that --kung fu, judo?
Adam: I don't know. I guess I've watched too many Jackie Chan movies.
Chloe: Well, who would've thought it would come in handy in the treacherous halls of Smallville High?

I love the Chloe & Clark relationship in delete. This was an excellent script and an excellent scene. This is my second favorite scene from the episode Delete:

Clark: Chloe, you went to Lionel because I pushed you away. It seems to be one of my hidden talents lately.
Chloe: It's not so hidden. You know, I never set out to investigate you, Clark. It just -- it was so flattering that someone like that would be interested in my work.
Clark: It made you feel like you mattered.
Chloe: Yeah. And then Lionel set my dream out right in front of me, and I just... I don't know. I gave into all my worst instincts.
Clark: No, Chloe, he caught you at a weak moment, and we all have them. You found me at mine in Metropolis. You didn't turn your back on me. You gave me a second chance, and I at least owe you the same.
Chloe: I'd like that. So, what do we do now? We can't just forget about everything that's happened.
Clark: Well, you have to understand there are some things about me that'll never add up.
Chloe: I know that.
Clark: Are you willing to stop digging?
Chloe: Yeah. I mean, I figure you'll just... tell me when you think it's right.

(Which is what Clark did during the 5th Season of the Episode Arrival: Told Chloe when he thought it was the right time to tell her).

4) Resurrection:

What I like about Resurrection are the Jonathan & Clark scenes. These are my favorite parts of Resurrection:

1) Jonathan: Hi, Clark. Look, I'm, uh, sorry to hear about your friend Garrett. How's he holding up?
Clark: He's in shock. I guess that's what happens when the most important person in your life is gone. I know about the surgery.
Jonathan: Can you believe it? I'm so popular around here, they want me to be admitted right away.
Clark: So you're gonna do it.
Jonathan: It's not quite that cut and dried, Clark. There must be a way around this.
Clark: No, I heard the doctor. It didn't sound like that.
Jonathan: I thought you and I talked about eavesdropping on people's private conversations.
Clark: If you'd stop trying to protect me from this, I wouldn't have to. Dad, I see Garrett out there, and he's lost. Just like I'd be without you. Please do this.
Jonathan: Clark, I want you to go out there and tell your mother to start filling out all the admissions paper work. Go on.
Jonathan: And Clark? Don't worry about me, son. I'm not going anywhere.

2) Clark: How's Dad doing?
Jonathan: I feel like I'm being prepped for a Thanksgiving dinner, and I'm the turkey.
Clark: You'll have a good scar to brag about.
Martha: Clark, what's happening with Garrett's brother?
Clark: He's going downhill fast, and the doctors, they don't know what to do. But he mentioned this lab in Metropolis. If I could find it, maybe I could figure out what cured him.
Jonathan: You need to go help your friend, Clark.
Clark: No, Dad, I'm not leaving you.
Jonathan: Clark, I'm in very capable hands here, and... honestly, you're not very good at sitting on the sidelines.
Martha: Garrett and Vince need you, Clark.
Clark: Yeah, but--
Jonathan: Son, if there is any chance that you could save your friend's life, then that's what you need to do.
Clark gets very serious, sentimental.
Clark: Dad, I want you to know...
Jonathan: I do know, Clark. And I love you too. Now go on. Help your friend.

3) Jonathan: Hey, Clark, it's all right, son. The doctor says that the worst of this is behind me. Hey, Clark? What's bothering you, son?
Clark: When I went to pick up the vial for Vince, Lex was there. He was talking to one of the scientists. From their conversation, it sounds like Lionel Luthor is behind all of it.
Jonathan: Now, why doesn't that surprise me?
Clark: Dad, when that serum got close to the kryptonite bomb, it reacted the same way as my blood.
Martha: So you're saying the serum...
Clark: I know. It sounds crazy, but I think that Lionel Luthor has found a way to use my blood to bring people back to life.
Clark: If my blood can save lives, maybe I should come forward. What if there's something inside me that can repair dad's heart permanently?
Jonathan: Clark, your mother and I both know that you are gonna save a lot of lives in this world, even more than you have any idea.
Clark: The only life I'm interested in saving is yours.
Jonathan: You do. You save my life every day that you're with us. And we wouldn't trade that for a single moment without you.

WHAT DID I THINK OF SEASON 3 EPISODES?

EPISODES: Exile, Phoenix, Delete, Resurrection, Forsaken.

5) Forsaken:

Lex: Clark, you need to let her go.
Clark: I suppose I don't have much of a choice.
Lex: She's the one who wanted to leave. And if there's anybody who set that ball in motion, it's you. Clark, all Lana's ever wanted is for you to be honest with her. If you're not willing to step up, you need to move aside and let her get on with her life.

1) What I like about Forsaken are the Clark & Pete scripts and scenes. This is the best part of Forsaken: the Pete & Clark relationships, since Forsaken was the last episode for Sam Jones III who plays Pete Ross:

Pete tells Clark that his mom is moving to Wichita and that his Dad is staying in Smallville. Clark tells Pete he's sorry about the divorce. Clark says to Pete, "Pete, you're not losing your family. It's just changing. Trust me, I know how hard it can be when you find out your parents are hiding things from you. So what are you gonna do?" Pete replies to Clark, "I didn't go through 3 years of High School just to miss out on senior year." Clark asks Pete, "Do you ever wish I never told you about me?" Pete answers Clark, "It's rough covering with Chloe and everybody, but the truth is, no one's ever put that much trust in me before."

2) This next favorite scene is the Clark & Martha relationship. I liked the script about them talking about Clark telling Lana his secret:
Clark tells his mom he invited Lana over. Clark tells his mom Martha that he'll tell Lana everything tonight, when Lana comes over to have dinner with Clark. Martha tells Clark that it's a huge burden and a big responsibility. She says, "Look at Pete. It hasn't been easy for him." Clark tell his mom, "I know. Pete has had some close calls. But I'm still glad I told him, and so is he. It's made us better friends." Martha asks Clark if Lana is ready? Clark tells his mom that Lana keeps asking him to be honest with her. Then Martha replies: "I trust you to make your own decision."

3) This is the last scene of Clark & Pete. This was a very emotional scene between 2 best friends:

Clark asks Pete what happened to him. Pete told him an FBI agent went after him asking questions about his best friend Clark Kent. Pete tells Clark that he hasn't told the FBI Clark's secret. Clark says to Pete, "I should have been there." Pete says that Clark can't always be there. Pete tells Clark that Lex knows something about him, because he pulled the Fed off of him (Pete). Pete tells Clark to keep an eye on Lex. Then he says to Clark, "Look out for yourself." Clark says, "Pete. What are you talking about?" Pete tells Clark he's moving to Wichita with his mom. Pete admits to Clark (about his secret), "I know I told you that keeping your secret wasn't hard. But I lied. I walk around every day afraid that I'm gonna slip up." Clark asks Pete,"Why didn't you tell me sooner?" Pete: "Because you needed a friend. And so did I. There's a lot of things that I can handle. But I could never live with myself if I ever betrayed you. I'll see you around, Clark." Then they huggrd each other, and that embrace will be unforgettable.

This was my 2nd favourite season after season 5 but season 2 had a greater number of consistently good episodes but again a very close call for 2nd place.

1. Shattered
2. Asylum
3. Memoria
4. Covenant
5. Crisis
6. Legacy
7. Talisman
8. Resurrection
9. Perry
10. Exile
11. Pheonix
12. Extinction
13. Obssession
14. Truth
15. Hereafter

You can argue Shattered and Asylum are basically 2 part episodes and same goes for Exile and Pheonix. Undoubtably Shattered/Asylum along with Memoria are my favourites in season 3. Apart from the top 5 again the rest of season 3 episodes it's a close call between them.

S3 Top 5 :

1) Shattered - My favorite episode of the series
2) Exile - The best season opener. I was blown away by this episode the first time I saw it on TV. I must have rewatched the episode 4-5 times that first night.
3) Covenant - Still my favorite season finale.
4) Talisman - Love this episode. Tons of great dialogue and mythos along with awesome action.
5) Perry - I was skeptical initially, but this turned out to be a classic. Loved how the episode examined the effects of the sun on Clark and Michael McKeon kicked ass as Perry White.

Memoria, Truth, Legacy, Relic, and Hereafter are all great episodes too.

The Good

Covenant - great season closer
Perry - fun episode
Obsession - I always liked Alicia
Memoria - I thought this a good episode exploring what makes characters tick

The Bad

Exile - call me funny but I consider Clark putting on a red K ring and running away to become a theif character assassination
Velocity - Kryptonite cars?
Crisis - stupid premise

The Ugly

Relic - I can just imagine the meeting for this. "hey why don't we make a episode were we can put Tom and Kristin in situations that Lana and Clark can't be due to storyline purposes". Complete waste of episode that had so much potential exploring Clark's past, just to turn it into a Clana shipfest
