Episode 1.12: This episode will feature two possibly new recurring characters Aron Malsky, an accountant-type man who works for a powerful man and has no problem doing dirty work, and an overworked and not really successful public defender. FBI agents are investigating several murders that have occurred under mysterious circumstances. An athletic prison guard gets beaten up by an inmate. A SWAT team invades the offices of a large company. A new recurring character will be introduced in episode 12. He is an intense and wise mentor with an edge named Claude. He is said to be an imposing man with a gruff exterior. Supposedly, someone we will grow to love

Claude, an invisible man played by British actor Christopher Eccleston (Doctor Who), appears Jan. 22. "He's been living with his invisibility for many years and has come to grips with it, so he'll give us a different view into this hero world," [Tim] Kring explains. "He's big, imposing and charismatic, and will become a mentor to Peter — albeit a tough, reluctant and stern one. He'll help Peter learn to use and control his powers."

12/18 - When I was on the set this week, I noticed a big, fancy prison set, and Masi told me we’d find out what it’s for in episode 12 or 13. It did not look like the cell that Peter was in, so I’m intrigued! Source: Kristin on E!Online [Note: This spoiler could be for episode 13.]

I think it would be cool for Peter to be walking down the street and just turn invisible. Standing there and all of a suden just be completely see thru. To me that would really cool.

FOLLOWING PAINFUL REVELATIONS AND SHOCKING CHANGES, MANY "HEROES" STRUGGLE TO MOVE FORWARD AS A NEW HERO (GUEST STAR CHRISTOPHER ECCLESTON) IS REVEALED -- Picking up two weeks after recent events, Nathan's (Adrian Pasdar) determination to save a comatose Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) forces him to turn to Simone (Tawny Cypress) for help. Isaac's (Santiago Cabrera) puzzling "Hiro vs. T-Rex" painting inspires Hiro (Masi Oka) and Ando (guest star James Kyson Lee) to search for the pictured samurai sword. Jessica (Ali Larter) struggles against Niki's decision to turn herself into police. With his associate Eden dead and Matt (Greg Grunberg) on his heels, H.R.G. (Jack Coleman) tries to focus on his orders regarding Sylar (guest star Zachary Quinto). After being offered a choice by the Haitian (guest star Jimmy Jean-Louis), Claire (Hayden Panettiere) struggles with changes her decision has wrought. Taking up his father's quest, Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy) attempts to share information about who is "on the list" of people with special abilities and the threats to their lives. Meanwhile, a new hero (guest star Christopher Eccleston) makes a shocking debut. Leonard Roberts and Noah Gray-Cabey also star. Thomas Dekker, Clea DuVall, Lisa Lackey and Cristine Rose guest star.

I think it is a great move by the TPTB to bring in Christopher Eccleston into the show. I don't know if any of you saw him in Doctor Who, but he was brilliant in that. I think C. Eccleston has wanted to join a US show for a while now as he was rumoured to be in an episode of Smallville Season 5 but as we know that never happened.

He was in the film 28 Days Later if anyone wanted to know.

I wonder what speaking accent he will have as he does have a really strong Northern UK accent.

I adored Chris as the Ninth Doctor. He really revived the franchise and I wished he stuck around longer though his farewell scenes/eps were done well.

As for his Northern accent, heck, bring it on! I love the show's diversity, and even the somewhat exaggerated Japanese and Indian speech that Masi (Oka) and Sendhil (Mohinder) use.

Looking forward to "seeing" Doctor Claude on Jan 22. He'll whip Peter into shape, I hope!

Ausiello watched Ep 12 Godsend in advance, and released hints about the ep as well as what to expect for the Feb sweeps and beyond, based on his interview with Tim Kring.

Full article from this link: http://community.tvguide.com/forum.jspa?forumID=700000049

My guesses below:

For the rest of 2007:
- Claire's bio dad will be revealed (big shocker) in Feb (I'm thinking Linderman or ogod, Papa Petrelli?!)
- The upcoming major character death will be someone in the first few mins of Genesis (most likely Simone or Mohinder - I checked the first 5 mins - b/c Peter is still around... and hopefully, Nathan and HRG will be too!)
- A future episode will feature a flashback to Claire's adoption
- Random comments: Sylar's motivations, the issue with Zach (Thomas Dekker), Hiro finds love again in S2, and .... Milo's bangs will go after S1! (Half the fandom cheers while the other half cries at this)

For Ep 12:
* A female character is written off (possibly forever).
Either Jessica or Niki? (That would go with those scenes of her in a strait jacket getting the "needle")
* Hiro has a run-in with a T-Rex.
... in the museum. Masi threw us a lot of curve balls there.
* A major scene from the pilot gets reenacted.
Zach filming Claire's suicide attempts?
* Christopher Eccleston makes his debut.
* An estranged couple patches things up.
Isaac and Simone? Matt and Audrey?
* A hero's powers begin to diminish.
Hiro (from the AICN report (http://www.aintitcool.com/node/31189))
* There's an unexpected (and pretty frakkin' hilarious) reunion between two heroes.
Hiro and Nathan (from Leno's sneak preview clip)

that was good. its cool that you get to do interviews with these actors and stuff.

that part with peter and him flying sounded intresting since im assuming nathan wouldnt be there. Guess that means peter can keep the powers of the people he is near. Sounds like he will be doing a good job in this episode and the rest of the series.

He mentioned about choosing between 2 roles and the other one was a bad guy. why do i have the feeling he may have been refering to linderman.

ramjeetp
01-19-2007, 01:32 AM
I think Linderman will have to be played by an American actor. C. Eccleston didn't want to be another European bad guy actor, which is done all too much on US TV shows.

I'm just glad he agreed to join this great show and that he is going to be in multiple episodes!!!

I found interesting his mention of being apart of a previous generation of heroes. If I were to speculate (and I am) I would say that every set period of time heroes are developed by, some kind of group, and this would be the story of this set. I have said in previous post that it still interesting that alot of people with powers are related.

It will be a female the one who'll die?? Mmmm what this guys have against women  anyway, even with that Simone seems the only dispensable for me. Some people said that maybe Jessice takes Nikki's place forever though. With that she would be another big villian ;)

The episode, titled "Godsend," begins with the superimposition "Two Weeks Later" (which puts it just three weeks before Nov. 8, when Manhattan goes boom). As the episode begins, Hiro, Nathan and Peter have all returned to New York, where we learn Hiro’s powers have been diminishing since he failed to rescue his waitress-girlfriend Charlie. Peter, meanwhile, is in a coma, reliving the dream of apocalypse. It turns out that Sylar did not escape PrimaTech Paper following the unpleasantness with Eden. Claire’s nerd-pal, Zach, isn’t gone for good after all. Nathan comes to remark that Hiro’s English is much improved. Hiro attributes this to Charlie, who taught him "many things." Niki, while in Vegas stir, makes a very interesting discovery about herself. I think. We do not learn to whom Jack Bennet reports, but a plural pronoun is employed. The shadowy "Linderman" does not yet surface (at least not overtly), but the name "Linderman" comes up a lot. Peter does not fly, but there are special effects aplenty. The new Christopher Eccleston character is indeed introduced in this episode. He sports a beard and we don’t meet him till near episode’s end. And here’s how it ends, spoiler boys: "Who needs God when you got me?" Source: Ain't It Cool News

Well I gave it a 5. I just felt like it was moving slow. I was anxious for something to happen to WOW me, but nothing. Still it was a good episode. Like some have said its was a setup episode. Clarie has matured overnight it seems. I guess it was the new wardrobe that threw me LOL. The moments with Matt and HRG were awesome. Those scenes I liked. Also glad to see Zach being brought back into the fold, but I didn't know he was leaving the show so thats a bummer. Ah well just don't kill the guy off. Leave it where he could come back.

Yes, I was about to mention that.
She looked shocked when she did that, I was thinking that was the first step to intergrating the two.

A lot of people complain about these episodes without the major reveals, but I find that they tend to be the better episodes in some sense, because they take the time to develop character.

It was a huge episode for Claire character development. She realized how alone she was in her life. She realized how much she had truly cared about and relied on Zach. She dealt with the burden of being unable to trust HRG, and she was always a daddy's girl in dealing with him before.

As for Peter, the dreams revealed very little and were a bit on the over the top side, but at least it was an interesting way of revealing Claude. The only thing I don't get is where are these dreams coming from. Is this another power that he is developing or are we supposed to assume something else. Also, the whole Issac - Simone - Peter triangle is not terribly interesting since I don't particularly love Simone, and don't really care who she ends up with. I just wonder what role she's going to play in all of this, since they keep featuring her so much.

There were also lots of great connection moments... moments when everything starts connection. I loved when Hiro saw Nathan in Issac's loft and called him flying man - their reunion was adorable. I loved Suresh finally meeting HRG after the taxi cab incident and thinking he was the bad guy for so long. On a side note, interesting that HRG asked Suresh whether he was on the list and Suresh completely ignored the question. It was great when Suresh learned the truth about Eden. And fantastic when Matt confronted HRG. Another great moment is Simone realizing all the connections and just deciding to go along with it, offering her help with Linderman (boy oh boy are they building the tension with Linderman). I love the way that everything is just tying together.

I'm still not all that thrilled with the whole Nikki/Jessica storyline. I just don't get where it is going and find it less interesting than the rest of the storylines. I guess Nikki represents a power gone wrong, much like HRG suggested to Suresh and like Peter's dream is suggesting about himself. Nikki needs some heroic help and soon. However, the final interchange between Nikki and Jessica, as many stated above, was fantastic. Plus, Ali is doing a good job at creating two distinct characters.

I was hoping for him to be in the episode earlier, but from what I read on your Herosite.net, I knew it would be toward the end.

My wife & I are jazzed about CE.

During the time it was on TV, I was working at a job where I couldn't watch TV, and when the second season came out I was on a cross country motorcycle ride that lasted just short of two years.
(my first trip was started in 1977 and lasted into 1979, I really should write a book about that)
So I didn't know the series existed until Smallville was announced and was about to air, folks were discussing if the series were going to be simuliar.
