Talk about him here.

I wonder whats really going on with him. He is an intresting character but he doesnt care about any of the hero stuff so i wonder what will turn him around.perhaps his flashbacks.

It's also funny how all their Indian characters hail from the south and none of them have an accent (a south indian accent, which is quite pronounced by the way).

I agree that MS is interesting. I do wish his story would move faster. They don't seem to have done too much with it. I think he will be somehow instrumental in consolidating the paths of the various 'heroes.'

ya i was wondering why everyopne in india speaks perfect english to when hiro has trouble. ya i hope he eventually becomes a leader type person for the heroes. but i think that may be something that wont show up till season 2. this season seems like he needs to understand his history before he can fully adap[t to his fathers research.

Any Indian who has been educated in a school where English is the medium of instruction and moreover, has an advanced degree has no problem with speaking the language. It's the accent that I was referring to although I am not sure whether you were making the same point. No matter, it's hardly relevant to the story. :)

Truth be told, I am glad that the show has characters that are so ethnically distinct.

ya i was thinking of the accent and the language. i understand why mohinder speaks english but then there are all those other people who speak it a little to well to be raised in india. i dont know i have been round people who speak perfect english or close to it but when they are with family and people of the same culture they speak there original language. so i just thought mohinder and his family and friends would speak indian cause it is easier for them.

o well anyway ya im glad they have different cultures on the show. i really wish we can see other people too and not limit the show only to america. like have people actually stay and have a story in their own country and not automatically have them come to america.

i ramble too much sorry lol

it's a t.v. show...do too much subtitling and ppl are going get tired of missing every second of action from all the reading! But how do you know those ppl in India don't speak English fluently and well. It's more of a generalization you're making about other cultures...before you live in it...i'm not saying they do, but you can't say they speak English too well to be raised in India because you don't exactly know their standards of English language acquistion.

They let it fly with Hiro and Tokyo to give an illusion of authenticity.. it's an old Hollywood trick. Usually someone who is not looking for flaws in entertainment will miss or disregard such things.

As for the good professor.. well like his father he basically plays the Professor X role. Gathering and uniting Mutants under one banner.

well i guess that makes sense. kind of like lost where sun and jin speak japanese but sayid and ecko and in there flashbacks they speak english.

ya mohinder does seem kind of like the professor x role but he isnt there just yet. he seems to just be starting to follow his fathers work.

In Metal Gear Solid 3, there is a very long conversation between two characters, one Russian and one American. Near the end of the conversation, the Russian says, “By the way, your Russian is very good.” The characters have been speaking Russian the whole time, but for the benefit of the English-speaking player, the dialog is delivered in English (and the Russian character lacks A Russian accent).

I assumed it’s the same basic thing in Heroes. If an American character (such as Matt) were in India with Mohinder, he’d be lost as to what they’re saying, despite the fact that we (the TV audience) are hearing English.

I always assumed he went to a good convent school. There are a lot of convent schools in India where they teach English as much as Hindi. My parents went to convent schools in India and they speak English very well. They don't even have much of an Indian accent. The English grammer taught in a covent school in India is much better than the education I got (public school in Pennsylvania).

That’s easy enough to believe when Mohinder is in America, or speaking to other American characters, but when he’s in his home country and surrounded by natives of said country, you would expect they’d speak in their native tongue, which is why I assume that we only hear English when we’re with his character while in India.

Not necessarily. A lot of my relatives in India speak English with each other. My cousins speak it more than Hindi. It depends on the family and how "western" they are.

That’s an interesting bit of info.

I know a couple of people from Japan who speak English fairly well, but they tend to speak Japanese unless they’re speaking to a native English-speaker. I assumed it would be like that in most cultures.

Guess that’s what I get for assuming. :D

Well what I said is true for certain parts. There are many parts in India where people don't know any English and speak just Hindi. Most of the time when people think of India, they think of small villages in the south or something. But there are parts (metropolitan areas) where they try to imitate the western culture and speak a lot of english. It's different for each area.

I'm really enjoying Mohinder's story arc. Especially when he started having those dreams of the past, searching for answers from that boy.

However, I also find Mohinder to be pretty boring. I've reached my limit with the before and after voiceover. I know it's supposed to be deep and evolutionary and I know it brings out patterns in the plot and the journey of the characters and parallels it all to science and evolution... but until they get another actor (Hiro? :) ) to say that stuff... I'm skipping it.

Poor Mohinder, he has to fix everybody else's mistakes. Where would they all be without their Mohinder?

I like Mohinder a lot more since he tortured Sylar. He's become a lot more of an action hero scientist. LOL!

I love it when he loses his temper. So I'm looking forward to this next episode. I hope there's a huge outburst.

On a more superficial note... Those eyes! *swoon*

I'm really excited with what there doing with all the characters of heroes especially Mohinder. Now, I came up with a theory with what Mohinder will turn into. I remember seeing this pic all the time, it was from one of the 9th Wonder of the Worlds comic books. It clicked in my mind that this could possbily be what Mohinder is turning into. I'm not sure about a big creature like this but something smaller would be pretty sick! Love the yellow eyes!

I hate how he's changed this season into a power-crazed fanatic...
