Agreed. They've reduced Superman to being not so super. We went from the freak of the week to now having Justice League superheros which again reduces Superman to one of many. If he was so super, why do we need the others? We've heard no flights and no tights but now we'll get to see every comic book freak who ever put on a pair of tights. The writers have ruined the entire show. I've waited five years to see Clark mature into Superman and we saw that begin to happen when Raya died and Clark told his mother that he wanted to go to the fortress for his education after disposing of the phantoms. Now they've taken it off the deep end and it has become a fantasy with Martians with light bulb eyes eating Oreos. Absolutely silly. The Justice League stuff is the ruination of Smallville.

I wonder when Clark checks out The Gap for fashion ideas.

I have to agree. Although this is my favorite show, I must say It trully has the feeling of a show that is being watered down and strung out.
The Justice League plays a highly important role in Clarks life in the future but the Oliver Queen episodes and the 3 1/2 minutes of Clark scenes are trully wearing on me. I miss the good ol SV days when someone gets screwed by a baddie and Clark has to spend 25 minutes with a friend putting the pieces together like the Scooby Doo gang. :(

I agree that this episode lacked in the fact that they really didn't spend that much time on their main character and went into a soap-opera storyline with lana/lex. i'm not a fan of the whole lex/lana relationship thing and it's been the weakest part of most of these episodes so far. the last 5 minutes did not take my breath away. that ad must have been targeted at the cw's gilmore girls audience.
however, as far as bringing other super-heroes in, the reality is he IS one of many. it's a show based off a comic book, and to ignore any other heroes that come to play a big part in the Superman's future would almost be as bad as ignoring other villains like lex that play a big role in his future. and look, clark is an alien with microwave ovens for eyes, how fantastical is that? the truth is, he's NOT so super, especially since this is all before he is superman and when you say "they've reduced superman to" you're talking like you expect to see him in full suit flying around like the hero we all know today. Superman can't save every person in the world, can't solve every problem, protect every city, or defeat every villain on his own. how boring would that be if he never needed any help from anyone and solved every problem? the comic would have failed long ago and there would be no Smallville.
There's also the fact that the way in which they're using these other heroes in the storyline is to further Clarks development. As it stands he doesn't quite grasp the fact that there's a world of people out there that need his help. If it takes Green Arrow or some other JLA members to kick his butt into gear and open his eyes, then i say go ahead. like chloe said at the end, he has to let others help fight the good fight.

(more negative) people complained just as much then....
people have a right to express their own opinions , but SV with clark lana lex chloe and mr FOTW, was going nowhere fast and would have ended upoking like charmed! (how bad would that have been for the mythos)....
too many negative comments in here sometimes..
(the above comments are my own personal opinions and may not reflect the views of other contributers to kryptonsite)

I think they should also include Andrea Rojas (of Vengeance) as part of the Justice League.... So what if she's not in the comic books? She's a hero in the Smallville universe! Since the producers have clearly said there will never be a Wonder Woman on Smallville, I think they should have Andrea join the Justice League instead.
