I witnessed: Super Speed, heat vision(killing the zoner), invisibilty, shapesshifting, and flight.

Odd. I'm pretty sure we only actually witnessed one of those.

I think maybe we saw superspeed, I wouldn't say superman-speed, but defintely faster than normal.
it feels too much like he was attatched at the last episode... With the episode that they're doing in January, it felt like they were just RSVP'ing one more.
There wasn't even a chance for Clark to face the challenge, sure he may have been outclassed, but Supes is never one-upped so badly. Plus, MM got the zoner while Clark was inadvertently distracting him.. He didn't show any power that was more than Clark's, except maybe--Supertact, also known as Superstrategy, which is the product of Superplanning.

So....you didn't see the zoner's back scorched, the sound of someone creeping up to save clark at superspeed, chloe in the loft possibly mm shapeshited(another thread), and of course flight? Odd, that's obviously more than one .... Rewind your DVR!

I concede. You might be right. I was too obsessed with Tom Welling finding the oreo (another thread).

All we saw was flight, buddy.

Chole WAS Martian Manhunter in that final scene. What she said was definately not her talking. It was clearly him. Awesomeness til the end.

You forgot to add that he is a pretty good telepath as well which allows him to read others minds.

I've gotta add, now that I remember seeing it (like I said cookie) I thought it was a burned-in Martian Symbol. You know, the Zorro of the universe.

Great, everybody witnessed something, others(Routh) witnessed just the obvious. That's what makes this such a great show. The imagination of the fans to embrace the potential of a great guest character.

If you're right and Chloe is MM in the last scene then we witnessed Telepathy too. MM knew too much about the dynamics of their friendship. He read her mind.

All of the powers so far that have been mentioned even though they weren't displayed in this episode are infact part of the MM mythos and are his powers in the comics. Hopefully we will get to see these other powers demonstrated when he returns. The only thing I don't expect to see out of him is his true green alien appearnce as that would require alot of good CGI that the show won't probably be able to afford.

Ok, I was being a little hard on ROUTH. Let me refraise the context, I witnessed the end results of mm's known abilites, but actually witnessed one that was clear cut. Meaning, seeeing the damage done to the bone-eater, and the sounds surrounding clark while this occured, figurtively he was "displaying" his abilities. So technicaly, he did display his abilities, even though we didn't clearly see them displayed, except for the most glaring, flight.

I'll go with that.

Okay I'm totally confused now.... Can MM disguise himself as someone else?!?! And is that my tv or just me that was a little bit tired, but I saw his eyes white and not red. Maybe it's just me. Please Clarify this for me. How'bout the Oreos? It's from the Comic books or it's an original idea of the writters?(that would surprise me ALOT!!)

Aside from flying and the offensive powers he uses while fighting the MM can become invisible, phase in and out of solid matter, probe others mind through telepathy, and shapeshift.
And the oreo addiction is from the comics.

He's pretty freakin' powerful, in other words. He's like superman/moondragon(a powerful telepath from the marvel u)/ the vision(control of his molecular density), and mystique(a metamorph shapshifter). His only weakness is a pyropyschotic fear of flame.

Good point! He fought the wrong baddy this week. He can phase through things by sort of altering his own frequency. They should have had him phase into this other plane, and be able to match this week's freak by matching him plane for plane. There was no showdown for Clark.. it would have been nice for him to have a battle with the zoner while MM handled the more strategic baddie. But I supposed that would have required more of an appearance than a silouhette with shiny eyes.

Unless Chloe did it offscreen, she never called Clark...

TPTB have already confrimed it was the Martian Manhunter.
The MM couldn't have phased into that other frequency and saved Lex, he can only phase through matter by altering his own density. He can become either a ghost, or harder than diamond, making himself invulnerable. He can also take mass from the surrounding area and add it to his own, to increase his own size, and stability if he becomes something big and tough, like a dragon.

I'm surprised nobody has posted full details/power about the new Super Hero - Martian Manhunter. These are the powers he possesses:
Even Superman claims that the Martian Manhunter is the most powerful being on Earth. J'onn shares many of Superman's abilites: super-strength, invulnerability and flight. In addition, he is a high level telepath, perhaps the most powerful on Earth. The JLA uses his telepathy to stay in contact during missions. He can turn invisible, alter his shape, and has a forceful "Martian vision." His shape as the Martian Manhunter is a "public" persona. His natural Martian shape is taller, more elongated. He can also survive unaided in the vacuum of space.
His biggest weakness is to fire. This vulnerability was genetic, but recently, J'onn went through extreme genetic changes himself and emerged from the ordeal with some invulnerability to fire. But he remains vulnerable to psychic forms of fire, including love.
His Martian physiology makes him near-immortal. He is currently hundreds of years old and it has been suggested that he will live for tens of thousands of years. He is known to be living in the 30th century, and has had contact with the Legion of Super-Heroes.
