Does TPTB WANT everyone to hate Lana?

Seriously, everyone here who knows me knows I'm a fan of Lana.

But I’m so not understanding her at this point anymore in the series and I’m actually starting to really disliking her.

If that’s the point TPTB are trying to get at for all the viewers, even those who stuck by Lana since season one, they’re doing an awesome job at it!

Which brings me to the question of, why don't TPTB care to write Lana likeable? :confused:

I'm guessing its just an overall progression of Lana... shows that Lex ends up changing who she really was... or actually giving the message that she was good when she was with Clark but starts to get a little evil each day with Lex... who knows :rotfl:

you have to hate someone... and Lex, well, Lex is too casually evil. Lana is blatantly when she does ANYTHING

I am trying to like the Lana character, because I know how the writers are writing her, but it is so hard....first half of static I liked her, but the second....not so much. Did anyone else notice the evil type music playing when lana was talking about the FOTW.

That is an excellent question and I have thought about it a lot.
Either TPTB are bored with clark and Lexana is a cop out way to write, or you are absolutely right TPTB want us to hate lana so bad for being the reason pa kent died, the reason clark broods, the reason he pulls away from chloe, the reason he is quicker to accept his destiny and pull away from smallville.
The more clark and the viewers hate lana the easier it will be for him to leave smallville and go to metropolis.
I get scared when Al said, the show has an ending he goes to the fortress takes his training and flys away.
IF I was clark I would not spend one single solitary second thinking about lana ever again. It bothers me he constantly wants to go back in the past and change things that led to pa kent's death and lexana.

Making Lana evil or having Lana be with Lex just made people who already like her feel alienated or start disliking her!

It's like turning Chloe evil and having her hook up with Lionel and turn her back on Clark.

How many fans who like Chloe now like her if she did that?

I don’t understand why TPTB feel the need to make Lana the way she’s being this season when how they had her before had her fans happy!

Lana has always had a dark side to her.... when she was a sorority vampire she told clark that maybe she was hiding something too. then she tried to chage him to a vampire when he pulp fictioned her.
The point is, she always has been more attracted to the dark side than the "all american good guy".
When she got engaged she went to see Lex.... when Clark chose to live the day over, at the end she still went to see Lex.
The story is just true to her character.
And Now...... she's having Lex/Zod's baby!

TPTB will make anyone evil that they want if it helps them write what they would call an interesting script for a certain episode. Then the next episode, they'll just take it all back. Unfortunately, the joke is on us for watching this crap. They're probably sitting in their offices laughing at us and let them, they're right. If we are going to watch this crap, they'll just keep writing more of it.

Im going out on a limb here becasue I have not seen this yet. I dont thing Lana has alway been evil not sure about now, however I do know Lana proabably rightly so has an almost bigoted hartred of Metor Freaks.

Now granted most of them have tried to kill her but I think it has developed into something else. I guess why I feel this way has to do with Alica even when proved innocent there was never any real acknowlegement by Lana that she was never evil. I think for Lana she belives becasue of her bad experience that these people becasue they are altered the metor rocks are bad (of course she has had no other real experince to prove other wise other than season 4 Alica). And with all shes been through becasue of them she probably does nothave a oh their human let not cut on them feeling.

In other words Lana has only seen bad from metor freaks and seeing as shes never really had a reason to see them other wise she looks upon them as something well something more of the lab rat kind of thing.

Lana is still tptb's favorite character. Just look at all of the screentime they give her and the way the show is concentrated on her plotline now. I have no doubt that they love the character too much to make her fully evil and that they will end up redeeming her.

Lana needs someone, she has been basicly alone during the whole series, and jumped from one man to another.
She shows signs of depression.
At least that is the way she has been written.

I think she loved Evan but also knew he killed his own father. My guess would be though shes conflicted by her feelings toward the young man who was much like her own child would be to her deep down I think part of her is glad he wont grow up and go wrong.

I mean what metor freak has Lana ever seen with a positive effect?

But honestly its all just lazy writing. TPTB are like "Hey there alot of fans who hate her already (because of the way they've written her in the first place), so let's just turn her evil instead of actually trying to redeem her character."

Not that they could redeem her in the first place: :p

A) Satan is un-redeemable anway...

B) It would require good writers....

He didn't kill his father that was clearly an accident. Lana loved him, they clearly pointed that out. He's the exception she's ignoring, just like her ignoring of what happened in commencement.

That's true, they can't redeem her, because some people just blindly hate her anyways. She baked a cake for Clark and people made an uproar of how bad it was.

I think its more what the writers choose to ignore however they are overly pushing the freak hate on Lana why who knows .

All I am saying is she sees metor freaks like I see Osmma Bin Laden- Nuke, lab test him what ever you do make him die a slow painful death preferly public as well so I can dance on his dieing body.

In other words she sees them as less than human. Which is very wrong on the writers part but hey since when have they listened to us?

Perosnally I hope they have Avenging Angle or someone like her to save Lana to give her a new prespective on metor freaks.

Actually, Chloe is very similar to Comic Lana (+all that computer crap) maybe that's why I like her character so much
