Actually, an episode about a cow, that would definitely be something I'd be interested in... I was a farmer though, so I'm biased.

I'm in until the end, but it's getting slightly boring.

Even though this show frustrates the hell out of me sometimes, I will love this show till it ends. The reason? Clark Kent. He is the only character on that show that matters. His final steps toward being the man of steel is and always will be fascinating to me. Not stupid Lexana and the soap opera nonsense that goes with them. Not Ollieville who couldn't shine Clark's shoes. Heres to hoping for a better second half.

:rotfl: Yes, that is the true Smallville fan spirit.

I agree HowardFilms, I'd rather watch moo than Whither...

I've liked S6 better than S5 so far. Clark stepping out of Clana has helped him a lot to develop as a man. I also love the fact that he is now very slowly moving towards taking charge of the situations and relying less and less on Chloe as a plot solving device..

I'm loving SV this season, and as opposed to some fans who thought Olliver overshadowed Clark, I'd say he was the one who brought out the hero side of the Clark and admitted that he could never be anything like Clark..

I enjoyed the Ollie arc.

I'm not ready to say I'm out but I am really, really upset about the garbage that we saw tonight. I jdon't know which is worse, Martians with light bulb eyes who eat Oreos and a creature that rips out spines and eats bone marrow or the continued boredom of Lex and Lana, both of whom I wish would commit double suicide after they take out Lionel.

The writers of this show have reduced Superman to one of many freaks and we are now seeing others with superior powers which takes away from the Superman story. We now have a Superman who can't get a date, has few friends and has to be rescued by a Martian who eats Oreos. Pretty sad. It's time to shut it down or fire the writing staff and re-organize.

I still think this season is better than the others but its almost as if the writers can't write scenes that don't involve couples.

Seriously Clark has super hearing and X ray vision and he can't find some huge dude in a warehouse?

I'll watch until the end, since I started on the journey, and I still care enough about Clark, Chloe, Martha, Lionel, Lois and Shelby to get to the end. But honestly, I'm feeling tired, and annoyed, and its just depressing to be so underwhelmed with this show. So much potential, so much talent, so much squandered. IMO

I know every show has its ups and downs but this show has had a disappointing first third of the season to me. i mean when lana becomes more important than lex and clark i think we have a problem. clark hasnt been the main focus since...i dont know when. he's always the headliner now not the main event.

Boy, you really hit the nail right on the head. Totally agree with those paragraphs. This show reeks of Anti-Superman. I bet the writers hate Superman and this is their way of trashing the character( I got to admit, they're doing a good job at destroying him).

I love Smallville. Even with some of my pet peeves with the show-Clark not using his abilities when fighting the Zoners, the inconsistency in writing Lana, I'm in for the long hall and can see the big picture that Smallville is forming. This season has introduced some new heroes and I'm looking forward to Justice. I just would like more Clark using his abilities then we have been given.

I survived season 4 and the frustation of whinner Clark in season 5. So, why would I leave the show now?

And seriously, if your major problem with the show Clark not using the powers (which I don't consider a problem at all, he just lack a brain to outplay his enemies) then you should be happy. There are alot worst problems than that.

Luthor5339

Seeing how this season is the RISE OF LEX LUTHOR, and not supposed to be all about CK taking on Zoners- it's great. I really like how 'love' is going to play a part in it.... because, that's a Shakespearean aspect- "love can make or break a man." Also, I think they are developing a 'gray' Lex Luthor in that you can easily see why he would think Superman is a bad guy and just another crazed krypto freak or zoner.

^^It's hard to pull out gold every single episode--granted--but sometimes there are plots that are so obviously wrong, we are left wondering, "What the hell were they thinking?" when the writers created it. This is one of those episodes.

Also, I'm certain there are members on this board who write, work in film, and know the biz. Fans who don't have just as much a right to complain when they don't feel something is going the right direction.

By the way, welcome to K-Site. :)

i find myself at times losing interest in alot of the plots to the show. i'll watch it but i dont see this show really staying on for mroe than one more season. i mean in the earlier years we had awesome things with the charcters i mean look at season one every charcter had a plot line that was cool and mostly everyone had a scene that equeled out to being fair. now its like the secondary charcters are just that....secondary... it makes me angry

This episode was too subtle in the good things it did, which worked against it but also made the format special.

We're starting to see Clark leave the Smallville/Metropolis area to take care of threats, without Chloe and such guiding him at his side. That is huge, but easy to miss due to the main plot seeming to revolve around Lex/Lana.

We see Clark taking on an investigative role, tracking a baddie to Seattle. That's classic precursor to what his future will be, along with his sidekick in investigation Lois Lane.

The episode messed up by having Lex/Lana apprearing as the dominant plot/cliffhanger as opposed to having something Clark-centric. I'm sure that we'll be getting plenty of Clark with the coming winter break, and into the final stretch of this season, but this episode should have had a bit more Clark in it.

The Martian Manhunter was awesome though, so just in that, kudos.

Like others mentioned, I'll surely be there watching every episode likely no matter what, hehe.

I don't think there will ever be a last straw for me. I've been watching since the show began and have witnessed the attrocities that were Facade, Devoted, Spirit and *shudders* Thirst and still remain faithful to this day. I try desperately to forgive the inconsistencies, the pointless love triangles and the horrible depiction of Clark at times.

This season, I loved Zod, Arrow and Fallout but was pretty dissapointed by the rest. The plots just don't seem to go anywhere. Smallville used to have a feel about it, it felt as if these characters were destined to do great things but their destiny was too great to be shown, it was all about getting there. And now Smallville jumps about all over the place with little devolopment and even going back a few steps at times. The love triangles are pointless and inconsistent and Clark won't, for the life of him, just stop being so angsty, and start kicking some bad-guy a**. And what was with Jimmy (the Infuriator?) coming up with some crackpot way to bring Lex back from a different frequency? For Zod's sake, that was just awful.

I honestly think that Smallville could learn a lot from the new series of Battlestar Galactica. When one thing happens in an episode of BSG, it is remembered and will play a role in an upcoming episode. Not like "the crystal Raya gave me" but in a profound and important way. Thats what Smallville needs- good solid plot arcs. I wish the writers weren't afraid to expand a plot line over a few episodes and let it develop properly rather than rush things ("Raya, you're alive!", "Jor-El was a good man Kal-El", "Raya why did I just stand there and let you die!? Time to start my training!") Also, if Smallville wants to be more 'adult' then do it properly. Aldar slaughtering all of those people and seeing their remains moved around in bags seemed completely out of place. And the fight sequences? (I throw you, you throw me, eventually one of us will get impaled on something).

I'll stick with the show in the hope that Clark finally accepting Jor-El's training will restore the show to its glory. And honestly, I want Lana dead. I know she is a part of the future Superman mythos but please just kill her. Kill her dead.

And I know it will never happen, but imagine the heights Smallville could sore to if Jeph Loeb would return as a regular writer. Red, Legacy and Insurgence are some of the best Smallville scripts, I would love to see him return for the second half of season 6.

the thing is, this show sucks hard now. it's so bad that everyone on the show is practically a joke now.

but I'll still watch it until it's over. you can't watch 118 episodes and not see the last 36, right?

there was this guy posting on here recently that was really laying into the series and its weak points. where is that guy? he had the most truthful and accurate perspective on these boards. I guess he has better things to do with his time. his name was like rudyrussell or something.

The AWESOME appearence by Martian Manhunter and "cameo" fight between CK and Bastista notwithstanding, this was by FAR the worst episode EVER made!!! All the Clana haters can say what they want about Ageless but I'd take a season of that repeated 22 times over this crap, anyday!!! Lana Lang is a pig slut ho and truly makes me sick now!

Someone mentioned on another forum that Lana is hated more than Lex. I can see why...this is from a Lana fan. But the way they are writing her is making her hated more than the villian shows some really extreme problems with the writing team or creators of this show.

I think a lot of Lana fans saw her potential from past comics...and were hoping to see that Lana that started in SV. I , as a Lana fan, am shocked at what they are doing to the character. I could handle the disturbing Lexana. It had a good point to it..but Static turned that all around and I was....completely lost as well as my devotion to Lana Lang. IF this is how she will be written..than honestly. I'd rather the iconic character have stayed dead in Reckoning. At least she would have made an impact on the hero...and not be ruined with this story line.

Another thing this episode ruined for me was LEX. He seemed so lovey dovey I was ready to throw up the sugar. It is fine for Clarkie boy..but come on..Where is my ruthless villian that tortured AquaDude..I want him back. This Lexana needs to go if they aren't going to write the villian more like a villian and less like a Romeo want to be. I liked the Lex in Zod, who said that Lana was something he wanted because Clark had. That is the Lex that interests me. One that wants the power...this teen girl has nothing that a real villian of Lex Luthor would want. The only reason he should have wanted her was she was Clark's love..now that is over..Lex should know he won the prize and treat her like an insignificant object. Since, TPTB decided to go with one of the worst writing mistakes in history (as far as I'm concerned) with the pregnancy. Make Lex want his heir and treat Lana simply like the incubator carrying his spawn. that is what Lex Luthor would do..Not be all lovey dovey whipped man that he is. Please..Lana Lang is a nothing college girl to the likes of Lex Luthor..thus, she should be treated as such.

I couldn't agree more, Newfam!!! And sorry to ALL for my last obsenity filled tirade, looking back at it, I'm too clever to leave JUST that!! My insight typically goes deeper!

Anyway, to sum it all up:

1) Lexana is HORRENDOUS and always was from day one. It made ABSOLUTELY no sense to begin with. It never actually evolved from anything. It was such a contrived, ridiculous effort by TPTB to appease Lex fans/KK haters that it ALMOST singlehandedly destroyed the show!!! In their defense, TPTB have recovered this year better than ANYONE could have hoped or predicted but if they follow this arc very much longer, the show may be back in jeopary again and realistically, its only got a season or two left. The series could REALLY close out strong, lets HOPE they see this and do away with this Lexana garbage!

2) Lex is sooo out of character right now!! He has become a coddling, wimpy Lana-bot. MR used to NAIL Luthor esp in his devious battles with Lionel. I looked soo forward to that and now all I get is his grovelling to her and Lionel matching wits with Lana!?! Comeon!!

3) Lana makes me sick right now. She was the perfect "girl next door" who charmed me as easily as every guy at Smallville high at one time. Also, I was a HUGE Clana fan and was soo into the doomed but pure dynamic of their relationship. Now, I can barely look when I see her on screen. It wouldn't be so bad if she didn't completely turn into the 180 degree opposite of who she ALWAYS was but the writers really wrecked this one!!! I always kid that Lana was somehow kidnapped and replaced by KK's character in Eurotrip, Fiona. Every week I wonder more and more if it's more than just a joke...

As for Static, the more I think about it, the more I'd rather watch ACTUAL TV Static ( ie Poltergiest ) than this disaster...

Bravo! I think this post was worth quoting again. I will not lie. I am still a clana fan. However, I think it is not because of SV...but more the potential I saw that was squandered away. I just don't know why this mess happened. Sure....I can see Clark and Lana not being romantic..I can see they wanted that ship to sail. For the life of me though...I don't know why they would want to do this particular story line when it is hated by the majority of this fandom and not just clana but fans that are dedicated to Lex and his charm as the ruthless villian.

I want the intelligent Lex Luthor back..the Lana that learned her lesson in Extinction not to judge all meteor infected the same (that line that was used was shotty writing. Lana wouldn't say that because she told Clark if he was infected ..it was okay..and there was Byron, her poet friend..and Ethan, she loved him and didn't want Lex testing him..so what is the deal? Where is all this crap coming from.) This episode opened up a festering pit of rot that stinks throughout the fandom with only a few here and there, who choose to hold their nose.

:rotfl: AWESOME post!!

Now THIS is a much more eloquent way to express my EXACT feelings. Truth is, I still miss Clana deep in my heart somewhere but Lana has crossed a line that really can't be forgiven. And in order to make her regain our respect as a character and sympathize with her mistakes which we all make (not to mention possibly save a series that when innundated with alot of Static type episodes will surely die :{ ), Lexana needs to die a quick painful death VERY soon!!

When they first entered this bizarre territory for her I used to go back and watch my favorite "soapy" Clana scenes like the prom dance from Spirit, the reuniting in Hidden, and the loft birthday scene from Calling. Now, even that does nothing but fuel my disdain for the girl formerly known as Lana...

it IS the final straw. strange that it took us season 5 and 8 episodes into season 6, not to mention we know that there will be a too-late-to-matter season 7, that we can only say now, that this episode is the last straw. this show F'N BLOWS so hard that if you DON'T say it sucks, there is no hope for you. I watch this show religiously and can say it sucks as bad any bad television I've ever seen. this is the first show I've ever tuned into week after week, seen every episode, own all the seasons and thought added some quality wholesomeness with action that doesn't show up anymore in the entertainment landscape. The pretty faces, once so fresh and now just not worth it, were breathtaking to behold for about 4 seasons. now, they don't really look good anymore (lois doesn't count cuz she never looked good in the first place). it's over. not ONE single episode from here on out will be good enough to help turn the ship around. the momentum that has built up to what we call (say it all together now) "embarrassing television," will inevitably lead to the cw network getting cancelled in less than 5 years. this was the #1 launch show for the network. smallville is over, the cw is over and we're all done with this trash, wherever it comes from next.

I don't see what was wrong with this episode. Personally, I love this show, I enjoy every episode :)

No need to get all worked up!

If you don't like it leave for once instead of just complaining all the time it is tiresome as are this polls..
Personally I like Smallville and this season has not been bad at all!
